Hello All,

While I will be following from afar WashU's efforts against North Central, it won't be idle following.

I will be in the midst of my Rett Gets Rocked 2023 24-hour ultramarathon at WashU to raise awareness of Rett syndrome and research funds to find a cure.  I'm starting around 8:00 Friday night (after I provide the call for the WashU-Saint Louis U. swimming and diving meet), and ending at 8:00 Saturday night.

Rett syndrome is a neurological disorder caused by a gene mutation on the X chromosome.  It lays in the weeds until a child is between 6-18 months old, just when a child is learning to walk and talk.  Rett is like Lucy in the Peanuts comic strip when she pulls the ball away from Charlie Brown, as he tries to kick it.  Unlike Charlie Brown...when Rett pulls the ball away from children, they don't get a chance to get up and try again.  Children go into severe neurological regression; many end up in wheelchairs and most lose the ability to talk and to do sign language.  Those with Rett also are prone to seizures, extreme nerve pain, GI issues, breathing abnormalities, and eating difficulties that can all be life-threatening.

Researchers are relentless, providing hope on two fronts.  Back in March of this year, Daybue became the first FDA-approved drug to target the effects of Rett syndrome.  Daybue helps blunt some of the seizures and has helped improve some vocal and gross motor skills.  Gene replacement therapy clinical trials in two North American locations have helped one patient sit up independently for the first time in a decade, and to grasp objects for the first time since infancy.

It is this momentum of hope and progress that I am trying to assist and perpetuate.

The families of children who have Rett and fight a tough fight every day, will be very grateful for your help.

Thank you for your time and consideration, and enjoy the games this weekend!

LaCrosse beats Oshkosh 31-28. LaCrosse had 2 time consuming 4th quarter drives one to take a 31-21 lead.  Then.after Oshkosh scored LaCrosse runs out the last couple of minutes to secure the win.

Eau Claire scored the games first 14 points and Platteville lost it's starting QB on their first procession to injury. But Platteville scored the games next 47 points to win. So far this season Platteville has won the games they are expected to win and play tough against everybody else. On to Whitewater next week.

Yup, Pool C (hopefully) for UWW...if they can take care of business the rest of the way.

On the Pool C topic, uww's regional SOS took a little hit with SJU taking a bad loss.

For the second time this season, RF scored 75 points, this time vs a conference opponent. Point's ineptitude was surprising. Blaha played less than a half.

The second and third string qb's alternated on possessions starting late in the 2nd period (Aufenthie and Weslowski) Actually, it was the third and fourth string qb's. The second string qb (Fitzgerald) broke his left wrist at the end of the Eau Claire game and is out for the season. None of the qb's are seniors.

Weslowski is the better of the two sub qb's because he can run and pass. Aufenthie is strictly a passer, but has the strongest arm of all, including Blaha.

WORLD'S OLDEST FALCON FAN.

MESSAGE TO RECRUITS:  IN DOUBT? ENROLL AT STOUT. DON'T CARE? GO TO EAU CLAIRE. AT A LOSS? TRY LACROSSE. FEELIN' OUTTA JOINT? YOUR PLACE IS POINT. DON'T LIKE THE REST? DO WHAT'S BEST!

GOT BALLS? PLAY FOR THE FALLS!

What was the injury to Priami?

I didn't see the play Platteville's recap said he left after being sacked.

Got it. Thanks.

UWW with another good team victory- w each unit picking up for the other.
On one hand, I think it's great the three units find ways to pull out victories. On the other hand, I worry they are playing w fire. I think there's been three punt return turnovers. The defense has given up some long pass plays- and also were fortunate the QB missed some open guys (like UWRF). The most concerning to me is the 60% completion rate by Ogden. He has missed many open receivers- two on wheel routes against UWS.
If UWW makes the playoffs and gets deep- these things will catch up.

Agree with all of this.

UWS was dropping balls and missing open receivers left and right. Very fortunate for us. As a Bears fan, I think Ogden has a little Justin Fields in him. Very athletic, can hurt you with the run, very inconsistent with his throws, questionable decision making. It doesn't help they both are #1. Very frustrating at times to watch. Would love to see Cinetti (sp?) can get more time on the field. Really liked what he did in that game Ogden missed.

I think they may have the FG game figured out. Glad to see Jace go for it rather than attempting 50+ yard FGs yesterday.

Really like #5 in the secondary. Kid is a baller. Hopefully #8 RB (name is eluding me) isn't banged up too bad.

What's the deal with the Whitewater scoreboard not showing any stats?
What the hell was that?  That was a Drop-kick.  Drop-kick? How much is that worth?  Three points.  THREE POINTS?!

I agree that the turnovers need to be eliminated. I think the focus the next three weeks for the entire team will be to get better each week/day and obviously winning each game one at a time. I am not trying to throw out cliche's here but we need to give 110%  and yet play within ourselves. It ain't over until the fat lady sings.

Probably my biggest concern is that 02 can't remember #8's name. Let's play Wheel of Fortune: T_mir Thom_s.  Want to buy a vowel?

I know, embarrassing. I'm horrible with names. Always have been. Gets me in trouble a lot.
