UWW with another good team victory- w each unit picking up for the other.
On one hand, I think it's great the three units find ways to pull out victories. On the other hand, I worry they are playing w fire. I think there's been three punt return turnovers. The defense has given up some long pass plays- and also were fortunate the QB missed some open guys (like UWRF). The most concerning to me is the 60% completion rate by Ogden. He has missed many open receivers- two on wheel routes against UWS.
If UWW makes the playoffs and gets deep- these things will catch up.

Agree with all of this.

UWS was dropping balls and missing open receivers left and right. Very fortunate for us. As a Bears fan, I think Ogden has a little Justin Fields in him. Very athletic, can hurt you with the run, very inconsistent with his throws, questionable decision making. It doesn't help they both are #1. Very frustrating at times to watch. Would love to see Cinetti (sp?) can get more time on the field. Really liked what he did in that game Ogden missed.

I think they may have the FG game figured out. Glad to see Jace go for it rather than attempting 50+ yard FGs yesterday.

Really like #5 in the secondary. Kid is a baller. Hopefully #8 RB (name is eluding me) isn't banged up too bad.

I agree that the turnovers need to be eliminated. I think the focus the next three weeks for the entire team will be to get better each week/day and obviously winning each game one at a time. I am not trying to throw out cliche's here but we need to give 110%  and yet play within ourselves. It ain't over until the fat lady sings.

Probably my biggest concern is that 02 can't remember #8's name. Let's play Wheel of Fortune: T_mir Thom_s.  Want to buy a vowel?

I know, embarrassing. I'm horrible with names. Always have been. Gets me in trouble a lot.

Oh me too. But if it ever bleeds over into Warhawk football, then it becomes worrisome.

What's the deal with the Whitewater scoreboard not showing any stats?

It's a pretty old scoreboard and parts are failing.  The part was ordered and UPS says it was delivered to the university.  Unfortunately whoever signed for it is unknown to anyone at the university and does not work at the university.  So despite extensive efforts no one has a clue who has it and/or where it is.  We are in the process of reordering and hopefully the board will be fully functional by Platteville.

It's not a memory issue. It probably took as  long to type out "(name is eluding me)" than it would have to google "Whitewater Football #8" which produces the young man's name is less than 0.5 seconds.  ::)

@bleed: any insight into Tamir's injury? If there was a time to need a break to heal, now is the time for it to happen.

I Googled #8 for UWW and came across Jordan Wells, and glad I did as it brings back fond memories. He was one of a group of three great receivers (Rusch, Wells and Brandes) and made a big contribution in 2008 and 2009. He actually led the receivers in TD's in 2009. QB Donovan completed 72% of his passes that year- and his backup, Matt Blanchard, 71% (that's why he was backup).

The 2009 Stagg Bowl vs Mt was an incredible all-around experience.

They are watching him closely. He is the kind of kid who will play through anything if he can get away with it. He wants to play Saturday and I wouldn't put it past him. My guess is that if he can play Saturday, he will. I could see him being witheld the following two weeks, though. I know they want him 100% for the playoffs. To be honest, this week, I think it depends on how conservatively the coaches/trainers braintrust decides to play it.

that 10 year war was peak D3FB, all time D3 squads going at it each year with only four years of eligibility

Yep.  It seems like a Mount/UW-W Stagg Bowl in the year the Stagg Bowl returns to Salem would be fitting!

Sure would. In those days, the selection committee did a great job keeping the teams on opposite sides of the bracket. I'm assuming the committee wouldn't prioritize that this year. If UWW makes the playoffs, we may have a 2015 repeat in terms of homefield (not result of course).

You might be right. But in my mind it's an open question. If we win out, people might be shocked how highly we are "seeded". I'm pretty sure the #1 overall seed last year was a one loss St. John's. if UMHB and St. John's win out and John Carroll takes care of business (even being competitive against Mount and winning the others), our criteria will still be very strong, in spite of a last play loss on a 51 yard FG.

A question for WW fans I plan on going to the WW-Platteville game Saturday. I used to park in the lot down by the baseball stadium for free. It's been 3-4 years is that lat still there and given the large crowds WW gets do you have to  pay to park? Thanks

Yes. Same set-up. There is a fee to park. However, the lot you mentioned near the baseball field is not among the lots listed for paid football parking. I have no idea if you are putting yourself at risk for a parking ticket if you park near the baseball field, but I wouldn't guess so. Maybe another poster has parked in that lot this year and could fill you in.

KitchenSink

The posting I saw on the UWW website made it sound like they tightened up parking on all football Saturdays. I used to park over by Esker but it sounds like you have to pre - purchase parking online with the only free parking in one lot way on the other side of campus.
What the hell was that?  That was a Drop-kick.  Drop-kick? How much is that worth?  Three points.  THREE POINTS?!
