Quote from: KitchenSink on March 18, 2024, 12:41:44 PMSo, is Whitewater's schedule out? If it is, I can't seem to find it.

It's not out yet. But we do know that we're playing John Carroll and Mary Hardin Baylor at home and Roosevelt on the road the first three weeks.

Whitewater schedule is here. https://x.com/JoshGolberg/status/1768433292880343422?s=20

What the hell was that?  That was a Drop-kick.  Drop-kick? How much is that worth?  Three points.  THREE POINTS?!

Respectfully disagree with you on that. :)

2024 Blugold Schedule

Sep 7 (Sat) at Concordia College (Minn.)
Sep 14 (Sat vs Coe College
Sep 21 (Sat) at Bethel University
Oct 5 (Sat) at UW-River Falls
Oct 12 (Sat) vs UW-Stevens Point
Oct 19 (Sat) vs UW-La Crosse
Oct 26 (Sat) at UW-Stout
Nov 2 (Sat) vs UW-Oshkosh
Nov 9 (Sat) at UW-Platteville
Nov 16 (Sat) vs UW-Whitewater

Get the return home match up against Coe for home opener, which will be nice. 2nd year in a row without an evening game. Must be a trend I'm guessing for travel reasons, but it was sure nice to have some of those early games scheduled for 6pm.

Platteville's DE Justin Blazek signed a Free Agent contract with the Bengals. LaCrosse OT Mike Bertoia gets invited to Packers Mini Camp.

The Third Division

Anyone have a replay of the 1995 stagg bowl (Rowan vs la crosse?)

Yes, and believe it or not, there is no evidence that the silence is related to La Crosse and the Stagg Bowl being mentioned in the same sentence.

While you are here FF, looks like Coach O'Grady will be back at UW-W this year! Such good news personally!  Having him around simply makes football more fun! And it will be great for our young kickers, too!

bleedpurple

More to come as camp opens, but UW-W is definitely a transfer portal destination. We only lost one guy unexpectedly from the two-deep and he is just not playing football anymore. And we added more transfers than I can remember in past years. This group will add a lot of talent to the 140 plus players expected to compete for roster spots.  But as Coach Rindahl says, we are about building a team, not collecting talent.  Their ultimate success will depend on their performance, ability to selflessly buy into the program,  and their ability to accept their role if they make the team. Over the years, some come in and greatly underestimate how good our talent is and never make it. Others come in and are great teammates and contributors. And every once in a while we get an absolute stud. I think there are some guys that could fit into the stud category when all is said and done. And as much talent as most of them have, we have a bunch of talent returning as well. If any of the transfers think earning playing time will be a piece of cake, they are in for a rude awakening.

Barring a late transfer in the next few weeks, here are where the players expected to be in camp have transferred from.

Eastern Illinois
University of Minnesota
Two MIAC transfers that both made All-Conference
Western Illinois
Northern Colorado
Lindenwood
Bemidji State (2)
Concordia-St. Paul
University of Wisconsin
Northwest Missouri State
Ashland University

Bleed--talked 2 J.O. couple days ago.Said Walker doesn't need him. Sounded like he wouldn't be coaching.But I see he's still listed as a coach.

Pretty sure no other teams have as impressive a list of transfers as WW. On paper it's amazing!

Interesting list.
Didn't Max Meylor transfer from Lindenwood as well?

bleedpurple

He did! Lindenwood connection lol. This kid is only a sophomore, so Max probably doesn't know him. But he is one of the guys that has a real chance to be special. You probably have heard of his high school. 8A State Champ in your neck of the woods!
