CSP over  feisty, "pass-happy" UWRF 26 - 21.  QB Jeremy Wolff looks like an emerging talent.

Eau Claire's passing game looks great against an alright Illinois Wesleyan.  How much more scary would it be if they had Evensen to add to the three WR's that are having big years already.  Tony Hull's little brother Chris appears to be the real deal and Kryz seems little calmer back there.

Something that may contribute to the success today was a change on the o-line, Moonen who started last weekend at center was benched and Rekuski was moved to center and Day (freshman) started at guard.  That gives the Blugolds a huge o-line with 6'1 285 Rekuski being the smallest player on the line.

The defense looked good as well giving up barely over 100 yards total offense, wow.

Blugolds clicking on all cylinders today, having worked out the kinks in the passing game from last week. Not much to criticize. Only letdown, perhaps, was special teams, which kept them in the ballgame last week.

Had a FG and EP blocked, and missed on a two-point conversion. But the kicker had booming kickoffs, with and without the wind, for four touchbacks.

Changes on the o-line must have worked, since they dominated the line of scrimmage. Didn't use the running game much, except I see they had 35 attempts for 141 yards. That surprised me, since they were clicking on the passing game. Unfortunately, Gast had another big run called back on a holding penalty. But, he will have his day...

D-line also dominated... And swarming, as a whole. Only thing in doubt in this game was whether they would get the shutout, which they were hungry for...

Good to see Coach Hoffner chew up the last 5 minutes of so with ball control. He didn't pad stats, like some teams have done in this conference in the past... I heard him yelling on the sideline asking to make sure everyone on offense had a chance to play. Third string QB got in, too...

Kudos to the band, too, which was announced as being the second biggest marching band in D3, if I heard correctly. Fans at Carson Park don't know how good they have it.

Hey guys, for real
I have all of the answers to the tests.
Perfect so far with being the first one to pick each week.

34-6 La Crosse in a ho-hum game. It looks as if the WIAC had a good day

Anyone that was @ the Stout game know why Ryan E. did not play?  is he still hampered with the hip injury?  Any info would be great.

It is great to see the Devils ON TOP of the WIAC for a few weeks.
I hope everyone else is excited for their game against Springfield Mass.

Does anyone know what happened with the starting OLB from Eau Claire, Anthony Pizzo???

oldpa

Not that anyone cares, but here is my opinion of the WW team this year.

The defense is about as good as last year, with the strength being at linebacker this year. The d-line looks good, but seem to be pacing themselves a bit, and might need a rotation with fresh players more often. The d-backs are really good against the run, but may give up some big plays.

The offense is loaded with big play guys, and the qb looks great. The running game is as good as Beaver is healthy. Not so good with him out. They should score 30 or more points per game.

If they stay healthy, WW should win it all this year. They are easily the best team WW has had in the last 8 years at this point in the season.

I believe he opted not to play football this year.  Personal choice.

Well, well, well--so now it's called "waffleing." I'm really glad u guys who picked HP on no basis at all are principled guys who stick to your guns. Thanks, Brian Carroll, for sending a wake-up call. At least one "politician" was smart enuf to really check HP out: not ranked or even mentioned in d3 poll, playing first game, picked well down in predictions of fans about who would place where in their league, and then the reminder from BC about last year's scores. Thanks Stoutguy, oldpa, and others who did not "waffle" for letting me ease in front of you on this week's picks!

Actually the reason I changed my mind is because I checked H/P's roster and thought it had too many first and second year players and I noticed that they had a new coach.

I think I'll be taking Linfield over Stevens Point because I checked their website and discovered they've won a national championship in the recent past.  Plus they have some sort of roofless dome.  ;D 8)

WARHAWKS dominated both sides of the ball in the first half and led 31-0 at the break.  But St Xavier popped a long touchdown pass on third down and then capitalized on two WARHAWK turnovers to pull within eleven, 31-20.  But the offense responded with a field goal, 34-20, the defense with a turnover and then the offense ran out the clock with a pair of third down conversions.

Stanley is averaging over 40 yards per reception.  The kid can fly.  Jacobs just heaves the ball down field and the foot race is on.  The corners will be running with him and then he finds another gear and simply seperates himself from them.   He's going to be a problem for any team that gives us enough time to throw deep.

Jacobs looks much better this year and, though I haven't seen any official stats, I believe he had 300+ yards passing.  Beaver finished with 110 yards in 13 carries and the team fisnished with almost 250 rushing yards.

The rushing defense has been strong allowing SNC about 60 rushing yards last week and StX 72 last night. Most of them were on QB scrambles or draws.   Perryman did have almost 300 passing yards but had to throw almost 60 passes to get them.
