I was just wondering why the UW-Platteville uniforms look EXACTLY like the Florida Gators? Who had them first and who is copying? ???

Pioneerbacker

The uniforms do look like the Gators, and I'm guessing Platteville is to blame for "copying", although how many original uniforms are out there?

News from the Pioneers-front: Starting QB Brent Nelson will miss 4-6 weeks with a knee injury.  The Pioneers, for whatever reason, always play LaCrosse tough, but this could be a tough one this Saturday with a new QB and that defense that seems out-manned at times.  Hopefully the bye week has allowed some key players to heal from injury.

Eau Claire....I'm really tempted to take RF because I don't think EC will be able to contain their running game but I'm thinking their offense should be more effective than it was in WW.   This has the makings of a good game.

LaCrosse....Easy,  I wonder if Platteville will win again this season.

Stout....Because Oshkosh isn't any better than they were last year.  ;)

WARHAWKS, WARHAWKS, WARHAWKS....But it won't be easy.  Point has to be one wounded dog right about now.

My picks for the week:

River Falls over Eau Claire
LaCrosse over Platteville
Stout over Oshkosh
Whitewater over Stevens Point

Longtooth

With about half the season down, what are people's takes on:

Eau Claire

River

Oshy

Point?

Just interested in comments.

Without Mo at RB, then yeah Oshkosh is not much better offensively.

This game against Stout, on paper and probably on the field, their should be NO WAY this team beats the Blue Devils. However, this will not be a blow out. This again will be a defensive battle between Stout and Oshkosh.

But you know what, I think THIS TIME Raschke makes his field goals

Oshkosh wins 16-13

the rest

RF
WW
LAX

runningdevils

UWW wins by 2 and 1/2 td's
UWL wins by 3 td's
UWS wins by a fg (This is always one of the hardest game for the blue devils)
UWRF wins by 1 point

Like I hinted earlier in the week, the away teams may win out.
When was the last time this happened????Anyone got the answer....

Picks for the week:
Not that I use this to make my picks, but I always wait until late Friday night, to see how every one else had picked...
Thus far,
Lax and Whitewater each are unanimous picks, each with 16 votes, over their respective opponents, Platteville and Point.
Stout holds a 12-4 lead over Oshkosh.
And EC is 9-7 up on River Falls.

My picks for this week:
La Crosse over Platteville. Indians, ooops, I mean Eagles, are getting ready to roll...
Whitewater over Point. Warhawks are for real, Point isn't.
Stout over Oshkosh.
And UWEC's Blugolds will finally step it up and beat River Falls.

Oshkosh intercepts Stout and returns it deep into their territory.

The Titans score on the next play to take a 34-27 lead with a few seconds left.

Today was a perfect example of typical Stout football...ALWAYS CHOKING in the clutch.  They can never seem to win the games that they should.  This happens every year.  Stout gets too much attention nationally for pounding the sisters of the poor early on in the year.  OVERRATED!

I can't wait to see how the Devils finish this season.  In the past they haven't really been able to rebound after a loss.
