Bulk19; great observations on the QB sneaks etc.  Lots of BlueDevil boys asking the very same questions and wondering if an offensive coordinator change would help the program???

Congrats to UWEC on a good game!

Does La Crosse deserve to be #11? I know they lost two tough ones, but honestly, 11th?. WW's really looking tough.

Does UMHB deserve to be #9 since they lost to a team La Crosse dominated?

UWW is definitely the class of the league with the playoffs and possibly St. Norberts, Lakeland, or North Central on their radar.

Monmouth at 10-0 will be the MWC rep this year with SNC losing 2 early in the season.  (WW and Monmouth)

We'd love nothing more than to beat you again on Homecoming!  haha.  It'd be nice to keep the George Cryst trophy for another year.

That's a fair point, but I also think most people know that a team can make a lot of strides between their first game with a new coach (Howard Payne when UWL played them) and midseason.

Bluegold:  I would love to see you knock off LX this week.  What are your chances?

Mr. Downtown

This is a huge game coming up for Oshkosh.

IF (and that's a big If) they beat Point on homecoming, Oshkosh will clinch its first winning season since 1988 (they were 5-4-1), and they haven't won 6 games in a year since 1976 (when they were 8-2).

To consider Oshkosh a favorite in their upcoming game against Point would be hard to swallow. The past five years the difference in outcome for the two schools is 26 points!! (Point leads the series 3-2 during that stretch).

A win here would be the best thing in this school..since...well 1976. To just have Oshkosh still in the mix of things 7 weeks in the season is unheard of. And then, we have another marquee match-up the next weekend (@ Whitewater).

We know the WIAC is crazy year in and year out. But it has always been the favorite that has won it all (LaCrosse) the past three years. Could this be the year of the darkhorse?  ???

I'm not trying to take anything away from UMHB Pat. I only raise the question as a counter argument to a previous question. With 4 games left in the WIAC, I think it's still too early to put a huge emphasis on the top 25.

At the same time, if #10 loses to #7 29-23, where do they fall to? Putting the SDSU loss aside, La Crosse is 3-1 against DIII. Would the same question be asked if they were say 5-1 (having played other DIII schools) and lost to the #7 ranked team?

Depending on how you look at it, I think the original question would be more fair then. Someone step up and play them then, and I'm not talking about Macalster or Dubuque.

Since UWL dropped just one spot, I think it works out just fine, yes.

EC's chances of knocking of LAX are good.  The D is stepping up huge and the offense is starting to really click.  Plus EC is always tough at Carson Park.  I think it is going to be a good old slug fest where a defensive score or special teams play could really make the difference.

bulk19

I agree with Blugold26. UWEC's defense held when it had to, and the offense, although it didn't put up many points last week, did enough to win.

Although the time of possession was nearly even, the Blugold offense seemed like it was almost in a ball control offfense, methodically using time and keeping the clock running, and the ball out of UWRF's hand. They got Gast going a bit, too.

UWL is going to come in fired up, after a tough game against Whitewater. As a Blugold fan, I hope UWEC can score early, and get the crowd involved early. I think it helped having the crowd involved on the three big third-down stops the Blugold defense had against Stout.

It will be interesting to see if the Golds open it up and get into a shootout with UWL? But I agree with Blugold26; this could come down to a special teams or INT TD to win it. Should be another great conference matchup at Carson Park. Let's hope the fans turn out....

To further elaberate on Neil Mrkvicka's year-so-far, I think it's important to note that he tries realy hard.

Week 8
Platteville I had faith in you for one week, you came close but you ruined my dream season in WIAC Pick-Um.  Therefore you will have a price to pay.

La Crosse fewer key injuries that Eau Claire, Lax wins ;)

Stout out plays River Fall, Stout wins the northern league match-up ::)

Stevens Point is due to give a whipping, sorry Oshkosh, Point wins  :)

Whitewater annihilates Platteville ;D

Did John Schuman leave the game because of turnovers or injury against UWW?
