bluegold,.... Just a question. Have you ever seen Elliott  play?
Only at a D3 football game could you have 2 seats on the 50 yard line (2 rows behind bluenote) and have an obstructed view!
I love D3 Football!!!

Thank You WIAC football fans:
Brett Elliot has just moved into 8th place out of 41 candidates for the Heisman.  For all those who voted for Elliot to send a message from D3 football THANK YOU....for those who have not yet voted you can do so at www.voteforheisman.com.     Lets send a message about the fine quality of student athletes in this country from coast to coast who play football at the D3 level.
Thank you also Pat Coleman for you support in notifying all of our D3 posters about Elliot's nomination.

Besides I'm sure as heck not going to do anything the feeds Linfield fans egos.  They're already out of control.  Calling it a dome when it looks like a county fairgrounds....sheeze.   ;)

Warhawk,

The county fairgrounds dig.  :)  Nice.  But it does seem like our little fair grounds structure, with little student body, is packing in more of a crowd than your 12,000 seat stadium/10,000 person student body this season.  :)

Is any one disappointed when they find out that there aren't any rides?  ;)

Picks: RF, EC, LC. I have opined that Oshkosh is moving up towards the WIAC penthouse, but isn't there yet. Here is their chance to prove me wrong. I expect a 17 point WW victory.

TuxGuy Elliot is playing against D3 competition I understand there are some very good athletes in Division 3 but not like there are in D1.  I just want to understand that you are saying Elliot is better than some these names Vince Young, Matt Leinart, Reggie Bush, Brian Calhoun, Laurence Marony, Marcus Vick, Brodie Croyle, Chris Leak, D.J. Schockely; I will stop there cause I still haven't named anyone on defense yet but if you still think Elliot should win the Heisman over anyone of those guys you are nuts.  There is a D3 trophy called Gagliardi Trophy be satisfied when he wins that.

I'm not so sure a d1 quitter who only plays 2 years of d3 should win any awards. Of course there could be more to the story that I don't know about.

OK, people, here's the deal:

We know that Brett Elliot is NOT going to win the Heisman.  That's really obvious.  However, getting Elliot high in the voting on the website would get D3 football some publicity.  This could lead to more attention from the media and in turn more support from administrators and alumni.

If you don't want to vote then don't, but I can assure you that Linfield fans would throw their support behind a WIAC player in the same situation.

Thank You WIAC VOTERS:
Elliot has just moved into 7th place and has almost 800 votes from D3 supporters across the nation.  His nomination has only been up for 2 days.
For those who are not aware of his history, he actually started for 8 games and was undefeated at Utah.  His backup QB was Alex Smith (a Heisman finalist last year).  Alex took over for Brett when Brett broke his wrist in a game.  He then transferred to Linfield because Alex had started playing his QB spot.
Thanks again to all of you WIAC voters.  For those who have not voted, please do so and his numbers will continue to climb.  You can vote at www.voteforheisman.com

41 nominees - D3 is now in #7 position- keep those votes coming!

I voted for Elliot and I will vote for him again. Whether or not he has any chance of winning is a moot point to me. If it garners any more support and publicity for Division III or D3sports.com I'm all for it.

Hey WIAC posters, knock off the provincialism and cast your vote for Linfield's quarterback.  The more publicity for NCAA III football, the better off we WILL ALL be around the country!

By the way, I've voted early and often!

It's about time Oskosh started winning.  Its been years.   :P

And this publicity will do what for division 3 football? Make it more like d 1? or d 2?

blugold26

I guess I am not seeing the publicity D3 is going to get out of this.  If Elliot gets any attention from the media it is going to be because he was a former Utah QB and that he should be playing at a higher level because he is torching his competition every week.

pharmergirl

I am a WIAC fan.  I voted for Elliot - let's see what happens.  I saw him play last year in the "Catdome".  And I agree with the "county fair" comment.

Let me see if I can help. Brett Elliott is the starter at Utah. He breaks his wrist going for a 2 point conversion against Texas A&M. Utah has a guy named Alex Smith who takes over the reins. Mr. Elliott realizes how good Mr. Smith is and has a decision to make. Sit on the bench or try to keep playing somewhere else. If he transfers to another scholorship program, he has to sit out a year. Mr. Elliott is from Lake Oswego, Oregon, not far from McMinnville, home to Linfield. The Wildcats have just finished 2 very successful years and their All-Americam QB Tyler Matthews is graduating. I guess Mr. Elliott says to himself, I can play next year and win a national championship at a school close to home and so he transfers.

As a side note, Brett Elliott had an internship at a sports talk radio station in Portland this past spring. His first interview? Alex Smith right after the draft. An exchange went something like this:
Elliott: Remember me Alex, when you cash that first paycheck.
Smith: You have a ring, I don't.
