I was just woundering when they are gona change the name of this post pattern  from the WIAC to The Brett Elliott message board  i dont know just maybe us kids who suck at posting  like to read your guy's thoughts on the WIAC .....might get a little board reading about Brett......  none the less best of luck to the kid he seems like the real deal ....... does anyone have an idea if both WW and Lin went undefeated when they would see each other even though that much purple in one place might look funny as hell

The Realist

Hey,

What the hell?  Why not vote for this kid?  I mean, what's the harm?  The guy's obviously proven, if he was ahead of the #1 NFL draft pick, then he must be the real thing!  Is he going to win the Heisman, probably not, so who really cares then; vote for the kid.  And if he does win it, then we would have been a part of something that would maybe never happen again.  It would only prove that the level of play (Divison I, II, or III) isn't as important as the guys that play in it.

The WIAC alone has seen several players make it to the pros that can play; same situation here.  Also, remember when Steve McNair was nominated for the Heisman from Alcorn State, a division II school?  Just do it.

The Realist

On a lighter note, would the USC trojans actually beat the Houston Texans?

I say no!  But I have a few stupid friends that say yes.  Please, someone respond back and give me some good solid thought on this issue.

I retract all my previous posts. Let's all vote for the Linfield guy. In fact, let's vote for a d3 guy every year! And if we all really try hard, a d3 guy will win, or place high all the time, and we will have effectivly ruined the once highly thought of Heisman Award! After we accomplish that, maybe we can figure a way to get highschool players nominated for the Gag award.

So, Oshkosh visits Whitewater.

First I have to say that Whitewater has one of the finest facilities in the conference and I enjoyed calling the 2003 whitewashing of UW-O from the roof...the hot chocolate was great!
Anyway, we have two serious rushing offenses matching up on the field this weekend, and from what I can tell from looking at stats and stories,  Cerroni's D should hold up well.
Whitewater's offense has been down right prolific...563 yards per game? Whew, time for a UW-O defensive gut check. I think that Jacobs will have a solid rushing game but I don't think he'll be the game changer for WW, Oshkosh only allows 111 rushing y/g. If the Warhawks want to win this game I think they are going to have to throw the ball well and convert their 3rd downs through the air, which won't be easy. These two defenses allow only 35%(WW) and 31%(OSH) success rate on third down conversions.
The Oshkosh faithfull know that Meyer's offense rolls off of the run game. The Oshkosh O-line will have to step up as well and open up some holes in the stingy WW rushing D (108 y/g)for Moriarty. Joe Patek has been having a solid year filling in the hole left by Wara. I think that Patek will have a real eye opening performance this week, we just saw the tip of the iceberg last week. 21/36, 362 yards 2TD's
So, Defensively, if Oshkosh can limit the Jacobs yardage on first and second down then limit their success on 3rd down (45%) they'll be in the game.  If not, it'll be a Warhawk runaway.
Offensively, Patek cannot make any mistakes, turnovers will be lethal for the Titans. It'll be and 80ish yard day for Moriarty and a 260ish yard day for Patek.
Go Titans!

Downtown, what are you thinking so far about the matchup?

Oldpa-

I agree with you Oldpa. We could vote every year for a d3 player but wouldn't that be ruining what the award truly stands for. Seriously how can you vote for Brett Elliot even if he is tearing up his competition? If you look at their season so far the closest game they have had was a 15-point win against Whitworth. All the rest of their games have been blowouts.  So really how good has the level of competition been to this point in the season.  If he goes out in the playoffs and puts on a major display than maybe he does deserve a little more respect but at this point he hasn't proved anything.

The heisman is a joke anyways so who cares and USC would be absolutely destroyed by the Texans.

UWW can really make a huge run at it this year.  They got one more hard game left and it is not this weekend.  Regardless, they will make it in the pklayoffs.  Once their, they will trample teams with their massive o'line and tiny rb.  They are probably one of the best matchups for the Linfield team also.  With the time of possession on their side every game, they will be able to keep an awesome offense off the field just to grind out defenses from around the nation.

Thanks Oldpa ,
Let's let all this D3 hiesman talk get put to bed.  That is pipe dream, and why would i vote for a guy who is a D1 transfer. I understand that the kid got hurt and wanted to go back home to play ball, then ya know what why doesnt he just be happy in D3 instead of having a bunch of idiots who call a county fairground a dome try and get him recognition for a d1 award.  If he is the second coming like you all make him out to be than he would still be at utah!!!

Whatever Stay on ur own board "Domers" !!!!

WIAC all the way!!

What's up with all the unsportsman penalties WW has been getting. Is it one person, or the whole team? If that's what it takes to win, I'd rather lose. It's embarassing to the team, fans, and school. Brez needs to get a handle on that stuff.

warhawkalum

Oldpa,
I am sure Brez is handiling it. He is probably taking the kid who commits the penalty out of the game, and then yelling at him.
In my mind there are two types of unsportsmanlike pentalties. Hustle penalties the first ones are the ones where they can't stop and land on someone who has already been tackled, or hit the QB after he throws the ball which is a judgement call by the referee anyways.
The second type are just stupid, pushing someone after the whistle, saying something to the referess which pisses them off.and then facemask penalties, which are just a total lack of effort, because everyone kn ows that you can grab the facemask.
I am sure Brez talks the team all the time about keep their heads and not reacting to the other tam when they push and shove after the game. Because some crews will call that no matter what, and some will just call it on one team, while others will call it on both teams.
Either way the Warhawks are better then those. Unfortunatly Brez AKA "The Rifle" that was his nickname in college can't play for the kids.

The personal fouls you are talking about, at least in the game against Platteville, could mostly be attributed to a very very poor job by the referees.  I think both teams could agree that they did an absolutely horrible job.

badgerwarhawk

Let me see, the referee makes a bad call and that compels one athlete to talk smack to another.   I think I understand now.

Perhaps some of it is provoked I don't know but it's all unnecessary and an embarrassment.  You'd think that our play on the field would do enough of our talking for us.

I know that Brez has focused on it and I've seen him get in the face of offending parties on the sidelines.  I just hope that there doesn't come a time when it makes a difference.  Stupid things have a way of doing that in football and this is one entirely in our control.
