QuoteIf he goes out in the playoffs and puts on a major display than maybe he does deserve a little more respect but at this point he hasn't proved anything.

2nd round vs. UW La Crosse
456 yards 5 TD's

Quarterfinals vs. OXY
402 yards 7 TD's

Semi-Finals vs. Rowan
254 yards 3 TD's

Stagg Bowl vs. UMHB
282 yards 2 TD's

2004 Playoffs

Is any one disappointed when they find out that there aren't any rides?  ;)

Warhawkguy,

Yeah, there people are disappointed......but there is one ride at the 'Catdome.  It's the long plane ride teams from the WIAC take after getting rolled up by the 'Cats.   ;)

BTW, if you do ever come out to the 'Catdome you can always watch Elliott throw TD's over and over again on our replay board.

Wacky WIAC Picks for the weekend;

Platville over the Falcons
Bluegolds over the Pointers
Oshy over WW - somebodys gotta do it.
Stout over LaX.

BDB

After the BlueDevil Touchdown Club luncheon today, Stoutguy and I had a confab to breakdown this weeks WIAC action. We could not agree on the EC-Point matchup. What a great weekend of college football coming up in the WIAC!

BDB picks these winners:

Stout
Eau Claire
Platteville
Whitewater

Mr. Downtown

Due to Kluch calling me out, I guess here are my first thoughts about the upcoming game against Whitewater.

Its safe to say both teams have a lot going for them right now. Oshkosh as a football program has been bad at best. It seems for now, that they have finally turned the corner, and they have something going here. A combination of very good talent all around the defensive side of the ball, with good, young (important word there) talent with Mo and Patek. This is a team on the rise.

With Whitewater however, this very well could be a team of destiny. How many times have they finished so close? How many times they had the lead only to let it slip away?

They lose one, if not, their best running back ever, in exchange for a kid out of Palmrya-Eagle High School, who was one of the better Running Backs in the Jefferson/Walworth county area. A lot of people believed he was too small to start at running back, and with his speed he would have to be a WR. Well...scratch that theory. Justin Beaver is the real deal here. I mean...its really unbelievable how good this guy has been. I doubt many Whitewater fans saw this type of production coming. Not saying no one was expecting him to produce, I mean it as in he is by far and away the best running back in the conference. Along with the best QB, and the best WR...yeah, Whitewater's offensive attack is pretty formidable and perhaps one  of the best in the nation.

So already we have a spotlight match up:
Oshkosh's D
vs
Whitewater's O

I know a lot of people in this conference look at this and really do believe this will make or break Oshkosh. The important thing for Oshkosh is to bend...not break. But when you have a running back like Beaver thats breaking every defense...its going to be the toughest challenge all year.

I know Whitewater went on the road to beat La Crosse. A big win..actually, a HUGE win. Though, all I heard from that game was how sloppy it was with turnovers. That it was a good showing of La Crosse coming back and making it a game in the end. Other then that, has Whitewater even suffered a scare? Have they cameback in a game yet? It seems that Whitewater has never been behind in a game, which is most likely not true and I'm not bothering to look it up.

It's interesting though, Oshkosh has played nailbitters all conference year. All games were within a Touchdown. Thats amazing, or amazing that I have yet to suffer a heartattack watching them...

I think what we will see this weekend in Whitewater is heart. Heart for both sides of the ball. It will take high emotions and a big heart for Oshkosh to pull off the upset. And if Whitewater is challenged again by a lesser opponent, how will they handle it? I know the Titans have confidence in playing close games, but does Whitewater?

This game will be interesting, thats for sure. Both schools like I have always say absolutely HATE each other. Oshkosh will go after Whitewater, I guess its just a matter if they can take it to the Warhawks...

Picks:

Stout
Point
Platteville
Whitewater
I HAVE NO IDEA WHY I KEEP PICKING POINT!!!!!

Eagle Cynic

I'm new to this site but I have some cents to put in about some issues.  La Crosse needs:
           To Win Out
           For WW to lose out
For Oshkosh to lose a couple
and for EC to lose another

In the WIAC anything can happen, think about last year.  Don't remember exactly but WW had to lose a couple, EC had to lose, etc...It happened and we beat WW for the championship outright.  Unbelievable! as I remember it.  Which brings me to the next topic.  Brett Elliot

Brett Elliot is unbelievable.  I played in that game and saw all of those TD passes from pretty close.  Of course it helped out that he didn't have an ounce of pressure on him the whole day, had 4 excellent receivers, and a solid running game.  Oh yeah and our offense couldn't move the ball for more than three plays at a crack.  But...he put the ball in places that were untouchable by a defender.  He showed me plenty of examples of the perfect throw.  Keep in mind the secondary and linebackers we had...2 of the LBs had NFL tryouts, two proven senior DBs and Two young ones who are absolutely the best in the league...Teeples and Halverson.  Nobody could do a thing to stop this guy.  Not only that but the mastermind Barry Schockmel put together the gameplan and he was the premier DB coach in D3 for the past 30 years.
Elliott's the real deal.  Not Heisman worthy but it's good to see his name in consideration...60+TD's last year and probably as many this year!  Unheard of!

Next topic...Whitewater...shore up your weaknesses and kick some butt.  Get to the grass field in Salem and match up your big oxes in the mud with speedy Linfield.  You can do it!  Look at the Point/Linfield game last year on Point's long grassy field...Point blew it late but they could've won.
Don't overlook any of the next teams because...it's the WIAC...anybody can win...RF can show up on any day, and who knows what these Titans are up to, they're certainly better than they used to be, and 2nd? in the conference right now.
Focus...get the home field throughout...and win the Stagg for the WIAC!

Those were stats from last year and shouldn't play a factor in this years voting. If he repeats that performance than he might be worthy of a vote.

BadgerWarhawk picks.....

LaCrosse....backs against the wall, season evaporates without winning out

Platteville....I'm probably going to regret this pick

Eau Claire....Go Pointer

WARHAWKS,WARHAWKS,WARHAWKS[/color]....Because

Elloit's done it against he best D3 has to offer.  That's the point.   There are no D3 players worthy of the Heismen.

Wildcat, even I have to admit that's one hell of a nice scoreboard.  It's my understanding that a new scoreboard is #1 on our staffs' wish list.  I'll give you credit for that one.   :)

Eau Claire  @  Stevens Point  UWSP
Platteville  @  River Falls   UWRF
Stout  @  La Crosse   LX

Oshkosh  @  Whitewater
It better not go to OT like last year.  This WW team realizes what they are capable of and should take it to the titans, and there grandpa of a TE. Just remember what happend when u seniors were sophmores and we lost in the game of 4 seasons I like to call it.

Warhawks win to get to 8-0!!!

The Realist

You know what; I try sticking up for the small school Elliot kid and we have some differing opinions in the WIAC, which is fine, then some idiots from Linefield come back on and rub it in our face how good he is and how they will trounce any WIAC team this year!   Well, the hell with this kid and those fans then.  No more votes for Elliot!!!!!!!!!!  Neverrrrr!!!!!!

I think the Cat fan was just trying to show how good Elliott is this year too..  We all pull for our own teams but this is a D3 thing..  Go WIAC, GO CATS,  Go D3...  we still like your cheese :-*

Elliotts numbers for this year are down just alittle from his recording setting pace of last year, but still not to bad.

6 games, 133/192,4int, 1908 yds, 26 TD's, and  #1 in Pass efficiency  rating   193.3.. (NCAA.. stats.).
