Don't forget the Randy Moss of the WIAC - Bill Schroeder of UW-La Crosse.  All Gonnion and Kusick had to do is throw it up in the air and let "Air Schroeder" go and get it.  Only played 2 years of college football, but was also a 17 time All-American in track and field and a few national champion awards as well.  Had a decent pro career with the Packers and Lions.

Funny thing was that he wasn't the best receiver in those years, Paul "Static" Kling was breaking all kinds of UW-L receiving records.

Its OK, most people that can't make it in the NFL usually are a little jealous of those that did get the opportunity.  I am sorry you never made it.  Yes i did play WIAC ball and have made a name for myself in my own right. But i cant say that after games in WW that our running backs were wrapped with ice and bandages, and if history serves me correct. Our running backs run more then most in a season.  Just so you know the life span for a RB is about 2 yrs, but it is not because they are all injured.  There are so many backs that come in and out of the league that the numbers will be a little off. I mean look at the packers bringing in guys that will probably never play other then this yr. (that is what i mean by that) Some just arent good enough but get chances for what ever reasons.

Anyway i am excited to see my hawks go to the playoffs and hopefully dominate.  The fiercesom foursom is crazy good.  Hopefully lil bro (Derek S) and Jimmy L can set some records and bring a national title to the WIAC.  I think they have as good as chance as anyone else.  Lets go Hawks

Matt Pagel is an example of another guy who got a shot because he looked right.  He didn't have more than a couple hundred yards his senior year and got signed by the Chargers even if it was for only a day.

3's-I never said I would play pro ball or even that I tried.  I made decisions to the contrary.  What I did say is that Pro ball is filled with a bunch of idiots with no class, no brains, little talent, but lots of "Potential"

It's upsetting knowing that the guy that was the biggest prick on the team because he thought he was the best and wants to play to get a paycheck gets a shot at the pros when he couldn't play a lick.  Especially when a guy right next to him gives his blood sweat and tears to a game that he loves and ends up with arthritis and some great memories.  It's guys like these that keep the integrity of the game whereas the former have turned it into a business.

I say...go Hawks in the playoffs.  Knock'em all down and take the trophy.

That's what makes the success of guys like Maslowski, Schroeder, Newberry, Beckham, Kriewaldt and Matt Turk special. They had football skills and instincts, and worked hard to get to that level. I doubt any of them took it for granted.

And oh yeah... Go Warhawks

And just as 3's stated about mocadallo, Pagel was another individual who beinifited from Vitamin S.
Be careful.  You're treading on very thin ice.  Pat Coleman won't allow accusations like that unless you have some documentation to back yourself up.

I agree it is a shame that people feel that it is neccassary to take that special vitamin to be a better athlete.  I have spent my carrer or (last two years) teaching myself that hard work is the only way to appreciate your acheivments.  I am very happy with the things that i have accomplished in the WIAC record books, but to me they are all for not if i dont get a contract.  So know that i will be working hard to raise that 0% chance of making it, but thanks for the advise.  Tell Scotty B. and D.P to give WW's #3 a call ;)

On another note who is this yr. POY? I would have to give it to justin Beaver even though he is a soph. Jimmy L has made a hard case for the SR at WW.

Lets think about the thin ice you say i'm skatin on.  Magically pagel sits out the last few games of his career at UWL,  he wasn't hurt was he.  Interesting.

POY:  Justin Jacobs.

The point he was trying to make is that you need "proof" (i.e. media reports, press releases, etc..)  Until you have that it is just one person's word against anothers, and it could be conceived as "slander" if there isn't documentation.

I was hurt the same time as Pagel and we both did rehab together.  He was not faking the injury, he couldn't hardly jump and had no explosion.  In case you forgot, he did play in the playoffs.

Eagle Cynic

I go Beaver for POY.  Anybody who carries the ball that consistently and effectively is going to be a force.  Jim L didn't do much in a few games, and corners like Teeples shut him down pretty hard.  Now I don't know the stats and don't have time to look them up, but I bet he didn't do too well against Sikora either.  The POY can play better than their quality opponents.  Beaver did, Jim L not quite.

Eagle Cynic

Does the other kid from Palmyra play? the FullBack?

That must have been one hell of a running attack for Palmyra a couple of years ago.  We had Jeremy Unertl, who last I heard is playing arena ball for the Las Vegas team.

POY  Just want to float another name out there.  You got to consider Justin Jacobs as well.  He's tieing and breaking records just as much as Beav and Jim.  Jim has made some fabulous, athletic catches but Justins accuracy has been phenominal at times to all the recievers.

:o

Aren't there any academic requirements for atletes in the WIAC?

I will assume that "carrer" is a typo. but "acheivements"(sic) achievements (i before e except after c - with a few exceptions)

"all for not"  should be naught; which means nothing, nil zero....

"Advise" the verb, should be in this context ADVICE the noun.

My guess is that if everyone knew their papers were going to be critiqued, they would have proof read them a little better before they handed them in! :D

Yeah! I don't think I came on this website to have an English professor grade my comments. Thanks but no thanks, you can find another hobby.

I am definitely a fan of Justin Jacobs as well for POY he has had a tremendous season, and has grown so much since last year.  I tip my hat to him job well done.  Is there anyone from another team other then my warhawks that could be up for the award?
