Any reason they wouldn't?
Eagle Cynic & kluch,

Chances for Oshkosh are still very slim, even with a huge win this weekend. Spend a little time looking over the other boards (especially the Pool C board in the General Football Page or the West playoff bracket board). There's a bunch of schools with just one D-3 loss that are in line for one of the seven Pool C bids. Oshkosh would be one of the stronger two-loss teams, but I doubt the selection committee will have to look that deep to round out the brackets. The loss to River Falls really hurt their chances. At 9-1, they'd be a lock.

I had the exact same thought last night!  Give it to the whole team!  Isn't it amazing to have sooo many worthy candidates on both sides of the ball.  Sure helps to explain such a terrific season so far that is still going to be filled with many more highlights! I'll take that over a one-star team any day of the year!!  Go Hawks.  Time to wrap up this undefeated conference season!!

I think that Osh should get a play off bid IF they beat LAX.  After all they did beat Albion and a pretty tough bunch from the WIAC.  (Albion is play off bound)

8-2 in the WIAC is pretty damn good!

I am also rooting for Oshkosh to make the playoffs.  When looking at the number of one-loss teams around the country, and only 7 available "at large" (Pool B and C), I worry that the NCAA Playoff Committee will overlook the two-loss teams. I sure hope not!

Ok guys, first of all, in order for Oshkosh to make it, a lot of teams higher on the totem pole would have to lose, and Oshkosh in the first time in over 30 years will have to beat LAX.

But, I mean seriously we will find out how much respect this conference gets if both situations happen. Does a 2 loss WIAC team deserve the playoff recognition over a 1 loss weaker conference school? Especially Oshkosh, who is not in the top 25 (but did get a chunk of votes)? We'll see. My guess would be a much needed miracle from the football gods, and perhaps some major convincing to the comittee that the Titans belong in.

But so much has to happen before that point. Let's see how they do in La Crosse first

UdobO,

You currently have Osh no. 10....so who are the teams that they are chasing?
And where did you come up with ranking?

hawkshawkshawks

I'm guessing that OSH will beat LAX because they have a fairly decent running game, and LAX hasn't been able to stop anyone running the ball this year.(a sample of some of their worst performances)

SDSU      42-357 yards rushing 4tds
UWW      58-247 yards rushing 3tds
UWEC      53-199 yards rushing 2tds
UWS      73-290 yards rushing 3tds
UWRF      47-219 yards rushing 2tds

Throughout the season they have given up 208 yards rushing per game Ouch  :-\

it is on one of the links on the front page under notables

Okay...now I find it...but how do you know who your chasing?

(the teams that don't get automatic bids)

Given that the strength of the conference isn't a factor in the decision making process Oskhosh's chances, regardless of the game's outcome, are nearly nonexistant.  Beating a .500 team in our league gains you nothing more than beating a .500 team in the IIAC.  That's the system that is in place and until it changes it's unlikely we'd get a two loss team into the tournament unless they win the automatic bid.  Particularly this year when there will be plenty of one loss teams that will grade out higher.

I hope I'm wrong.  I'd like to see the Titan get in but I'm very skeptical about their chances regardless of Saturday's outcome.

All the Oshkosh backers go into the general forums. Read and post in the 'Pool C bids' and 'Playoff Conversation' threads. WIAC folk, get over there and represent!
There is TONS of information about the two loss teams that are in contention for the At-Large bid(s)...here they are
2-loss Pool C candidates:
MAC--Widener (8-2) with win vs. Delaware Valley (losses to Wilkes & Kings)
MAC--Wilkes (8-2) with win vs. Kings (losses to William Patterson & Delaware Valley)
OAC--Capital (8-2) with win vs. Wilmington (losses to Otterbein & Mt. Union)
OAC--Ohio Northern (8-2) with win vs. Marietta (losses to Capital & John Carroll)
OAC--John Carroll  (8-2) with win vs. Baldwin-Wallace (losses to Capital & Mt. Union)
MWC--St. Norbert (8-2) (losses to Whitewater & Monmouth)
WIAC--Oshkosh (8-2) with win vs. LaCrosse (losses to Whitewater & River Falls)

Sorry to disappoint you Blue Devil Bob. :P
I would like to think I'm that clever. The truth is, I was in a hurry to get my picks posted and never caught my typo.  Hey, weren't we able to edit our takes earlier this year or was that another site?

Thank you to all the WIAC support for the WARHAWKS!
