Padmofu - Thanks for keeping track of the pick 'ems!

badgerwarhawk

Thanks to Padmofu for his efforts in tracking the pickem.

Brian Carroll, you seem to have a lock on winning the darn thing.  What is this, three years running?  Congrats to the WIAC champion prognosticator.

It's a great day to be a WARHAWK fan.  Congrats to the team, coaching staff and everyone else associated with the program.  An undefeated season is no easy accomplishment in the league.  It shows a team that not only has talent but has been able to remain focused and take it one week at a time.  Now let's make some noise in the playoffs.

It was an interesting game.  Personally, I felt River Falls maybe had the best defensive effort against us of any team this season.  They were within 12 points with as much as 8 or 9 minutes remaining and had it not been for a couple of early turnovers that the WARHAWKS were able to capitalize on the complexion of the game may have been an entirely different matter.  They dominated the time of possession and Nate Anderson is a bruising runner.  With that large line in front of him he's almost impossible to stop for less than a couple of yards gain.  What was apparent was that they didnt quit on their season, came ready to play and left everything on the field.  My hat is off to them.

I drop the cliches now and sign off.  ;D

Well it looks likes the warhawks are going to be hstign central college from Iowa, in the first round of the playoffs. After reading the warhawkfootball.com website www.warhawkfootball.com which said I could watch the selection show on espn classic.Which was incorrect. I turned to Pat Coleman and www.d3football.com, and saw who the warhawks are playing.
It is time for the WIAC to start doing some damage in the NCAA playoffs, and I can't think of a better school to do it,and represent the WIAC then the UW Whitewater warhawks.
Go hard, go fast, and don't stop until Saturday December 17 in salem virginia.
GO HAWKS GO

Padmofu,

Thank you for the great job tracking the WIAC pick-um. :)

Hats off to Whitewater and their 10-0 season.  I had the opportunity to see all of the WARHAWKS conference games and I'm equally impressed with every team they faced. I would agree River Fall defense was one of the toughest this year.  La Crosse made a great second half surge and Stout used its speed to get some quick licks in to make those games interesting.

Many thanks to all the players, coaches and staffs who made this season so enjoyable, especially to all of the Seniors.  Thank you for your dedication to football.  Your blood, swear and tears will soon become golden treasures as you recall your careers and camaraderie.

Padmofu, I'd like to break that 3rd place tie in the Pick-um, please take a look at post #1189.  Congratulations to Brian Carroll on a stellar Pick-un season! 8)

Whitewater to host Central Iowa next Saturday in NCAA Division III first round playoff action.

West Region pairings:        Occidental, Calif. (9-0)   at   (#1)  Linfield, Ore. (8-0)
                                     Coe, Iowa (9-1) at Concordia-Moorehead, Minn (9-1)
Monmouth, Ill. (10-0) at St Johns, Minn. (10-0)
Central Iowa (9-1) at Whitewater (10-0)

If Whitewater & St. Johns win next Saturday, the Johnnies would travel to Perkins Stadium which is certainly not setting well with the Johnnie fans.

While some team's fans are looking down the line... for Warhawk fans, no trash talk is needed.  The mission for the Warhawks is to "pound the rock" one game at a time and let the chips fall where they may.  Lets GET IT ON!!

Thanks Padmofu for keeping track all season.  Good luck to WW in the playoffs.

Just when I thought I'd never amount to anything, I win the WIAC pick'em contest. Wow. It just goes to show you that the sky is the limit when you are blessed with a slight obsessive complex and dumb luck. Thanks to all for the kind words that have been posted, and to any whom may post such sentiments in future. Mostly, thanks to Podmofu for keeping track, and to Pat Coleman for this website. BW- While I thank you for the congrats, I think this is my first in football, though I did tie for first in hoops a couple of years back. That reminds me. I have some basketball research to do. GO FOOTBALL WARHAWKS. BEAT CENTRAL.

Brian Carroll

Correction to previous post: Thanks to Padmofu for keeping track. My apologies for the poor spelling.

Leave it to the NCAA, probably one of the dumbest organizations ever assembled, to put #1, #2, #3, #8, and #11 all in the west.  I know not a lot could have been done for most of those teams but you could have had at least a little competitive balance by moving the Hawks to the north.   On the plus side there should be a lot of very competitive games.

In case anyone wants a word document printable bracket, here's one I threw together today complete with records of all competing teams.

Best of luck to UWW hope to play your boys in the 2nd round!

Now accepting new patients. All bills must be paid in scotch shortly after any services rendered.  Sorry TDT, no problems below the waist.

Discovered by the Germans in 1904, they named it San Diego, which of course in German means a whale's vagina.

D-3 football, its the real deal
Genuine student athletes, not just big show appeal
Some play for a year, others up to five
Hard work and commitment, that old college try

These young lads of ours, full of love for the game
Flashbacks to backyards, reenacting players of fame
Pop Warner through high school, fundamentals to learn
Ability to continue, only a few will earn

Two a day's greet them, with eyes open wide
Opportunity to play, without the full ride
Blood, sweat and tears, left on practice fields
To play on Saturday, what glory that yields

In classrooms or weight room, great friendships are made
Camaraderie and education, your future's been laid
Lessons learned, wearing helmet and cleat
To be humble winners, and gracious in defeat

The season nearly over, the seniors' bout done
Thank you all for your efforts, man this has been fun
Our young boys, now grown men
A chance of a lifetime, what memories to re-live again and again

Mr. Downtown

I just wanted to say is that i watched the broadcast today on ESPNews, and I must say Pat you have excellent broadcasting skills. Perhaps one day, if you ever stop up to Oshkosh we can have you on my TV show. Sound like a deal?   ;D

Anyways, good luck to UW-Whitewater. All I really hope for is that the Warhawks get to play Linfield. Then Linfield will actually for once play our toughest team in the WIAC.

Also, congrats to UW-Oshkosh for proving everyone wrong (including myself) and show that yes, there is a shimmer of hope at J.J Keller field at Titan Stadium located in the Oshkosh Sports Complex for next year, with returning about 15 starters next year. Just putting this out there, I don't think Oshkosh is going to be ranked 8th in next years preseason poll.

Again, good luck to UW-Whitewater, and see you guys in the basketball boards

oldpa

Just looked over the Central line up. Looks like WW may be able to run well against them. That would be perfect in order to keep the banged up WW  defense off the field as much as possible. Any news on 49 and 95?
