Speaking of deer hunting, what, if any effects will it have on attendence at the game?  I know we used to do some construction projects in Wisconsin, and this time of year it seemed that entire towns would shut down.

Hard to say WW hasn't had a second round game at home since 1988... school will be out for turkey day and the above mentioned deer hunting...  and with all of central minnesota coming to warhawk land the johnnies might outnumber the WW fans we will see

OK.  one last point about this discussion of "who beat who, and who played the tougher teams," and then I am calling it a night!!

D-3.com's "Quality of Wins,"  rankings:
WHITEWATER     #2           ST. JOHN'S UNIVERSITY       #5

Wow, huge difference.  Thanks for pointing that out.   ;)

National Champions: 1963, 1965, 1976, 2003

Those are not our rankings. We only print them because it's what the NCAA uses.

"Please note: This is the former "strength of schedule index." The NCAA changed the name for the 2005 season to make it less inaccurate. We do not endorse this as a way of measuring teams; we publish it only because it is a measure the NCAA uses."

Sorry for the inaccurate label. Thanks for correcting me, Pat.  I didn't realize that it is an NCAA ranking, not D-3.com.

Looking at stats from you website, I am really amazed that your RB's are not invovled in the passing game at all.....

Are you Rb's not very "handy", or do they have to stay in for max protection in passing situations?

At the surface, this is a good thing for the SJU LB's and Safeties, as they will not have to worry too much about the RB.s of WW coming out on swing/dump routes..

Am a missing something here??

to be truly honest the rb's have route they are supposed to run but in most of the passing game the ball is gone before they have a chance to get out.  Protect 1st route 2nd...Could be one reason WW doesnt give up alot of sacks

Good luck to the Warhawks this weekend. Keep it rolling in the tournament...

Represent the WIAC well on Saturday, gentlemen, like the Warhawks' volleyball team did last weekend when it brought home the 2005 D3 National Championship.

Congrats to them, and to the UWL men's cross country team, too, also D3 National Champs.

Congrats to WW for winning the volleyball championship this season!

At least you were able to win 1 national title this year. ;D
Go Johnnies!!!

Actually, UWW's volleyball championship is the 2nd one that has been won this year.  The 2005 baseball team won the National Championship last Spring.  Now I realize it is a different academic year but it is still the 2005 team so others may not agree that it is the "same year," but that would be splitting hairs! Something that NEVER happens on this blog!!! lol!!! ;D

If RF and Platteville played in the MIAC, they would have finished third and fourth, respectively, this season. That's the difference between the MIAC and the WIAC.

GOT BALLS? PLAY FOR THE FALLS!

Maybe they would have, but that does nothing to prove that your top team can beat our top team.  They might have finished 2-3 in the NWC, and that doesn't mean that Linfield blows.

MIAC Champions: '32, '35, '36, '38, '53, '62, '63, '65, '71, '74, '75, '76, '77, '79, '82, '85, '89, '91, '93, '94, '95, '96, '98, '99, '01, '02, '03, '05, '06, '08, '09, '14, '18, '19, '21, '22, '24

What is the current condition of the field at Perkins stadium? It would be a shame if this fine match up had to be played on a sloppy surface.

warhawkexpress28

i believe freddys comment went back to the competition that SJ and WW has played this year but i could be wrong.

The field was in great shape last week, but was alittle softer than expected.  Depending on the weather, snow on the ground now, it should be good.  if by some chance it warms up it could get really soft and sloppy

The Perkins Stadium turf will be in ideal December condition for Saturday's game. After practice Thursday night, a tarp was layed down to cover the entire field. I won't be taken off until Saturday morning.  How many Division III facilities do that?!  It is another reason why Perkins Stadium is the #1 NCAA Division III facility in the country!
