Ritz72,

Come back on the board and tell us how that Phy Ed, General Studies nominee for the Gagliardi Trophy does on Saturday.  Taking a rip at Beaver is a little bit below the belt, but then I expect that from someone like you. The kid is what a D3 athlete should be.  Check out the story on
http://www.warhawkfootball.com and then get your ass up out of the gutter!

DuffMan

Oh, settle down, Voice.  Am I right in assuming that www.warhawkfootball.com is your site?  If so, you do a nice job with it.

QuoteAll alumni, former football players and just plain fans are invited to stop by the big white tent adjacent to the stadium prior to Saturday's game for a FREE WARHAWK TAILGATE CELEBRATION. There will be FREE Beer, Pepsi, hot dogs and chile available in the tent from 10:30 a.m. to kickoff. The food and beverage is compliments of the UW-Whitewater Alumni Association, Chartwells, Pepsi, and Warhawk Athletics.

Are former Johnnie players invited for the free beer?  ;D

Actually, I don't think it's unreasonable to suggest that Gagliardi would not have a 431-117-11 record if he coached for 54 years in the WSUC/WIAC instead of the MIAC. Think of replacing those Macalester games with games against Division II schools. Gagliardi would win a large amount of them but not at the same rate.

Just food for thought. Maybe something more like 400-148-11. :) Still quite historic!

Pat,

I'm not sure when it stopped, but SJU previously played D-II St. Cloud State.
St. Cloud State got tired of being embarassed every year and discountinued
the series.

I'd say 448-100-11.   ;D

Uh huh ... so when St. Cloud State refuses to play this hypothetical Gagliardi-coached WIAC school, then what? Remember, not too many D-III schools are willing to strap it up and play a WIAC school, so you're left searching.

Or maybe playing just nine games, like UW-Lax in recent years. How about 395-143-10?

Man, you just can't help yourself sometimes, can you? There are cupcakes in every division and always have been. Winners find a way to win. Some have it, some don't. He has it and your dour speculation is distasteful.

I believe John is  18-4 lifetime against St. Cloud State.

Pat, my point is that if John were coaching a WIAC school he'd take on a D-II opponent and whoop 'em, just like he did to St. Cloud State.

If we'd have played St. Cloud the last few years instead of Eau Claire that's 2 more wins right there.   ;)

As is my point -- just not at the same rate that he whooped Macalester!

And fins, hello, reality check. First of all, it's called a conference, not a division. You and the WIAC are in the same division, it's called Division III. Second of all, you can't say that the cupcakes of the WIAC are not miles better than Macalester. Put your Johnnie red glasses (not Johnnie Red glasses, that's a different thing!) away and try a smidge of objectivity.

ritz72,
A player, the leading rusher in the country, is honored as one of the top ten football players in Division-3 football, and you have the nerve to diss him?  Wow!
