I agree,  there is a difference between confidence and arrogance.  Actually your guys are getting huge respect compared to our regular season opponents.  Consider yourself lucky.  We normally start in on Monday, with you we will wait and break out the good material late in the week.  Now that is respect !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And don't think it's not appreciated!!! ;D ;D ;D

O.K. GHC...AKA...C.B    ;D............ I'll be Good! ;)
Only at a D3 football game could you have 2 seats on the 50 yard line (2 rows behind bluenote) and have an obstructed view!
I love D3 Football!!!

I don't have a problem with some of the chants by the WW students.  When out tight end dropped a pass chanting butterfingers was funny.  But when they started chanting Hawkeye Rejects I think they forgot who beat the Badgers this year, and beat them pretty well I think.  Does that mean that WW are badger rejects then? If they are they maybe the Badgers should have had some of the WW Warhawks to play the Hawks.  Just something for you to think about.  I really take my hat off to the Warhawks they are very good.  I thought you would beat St Johns after seeing you beat the Dutch.  I didn't see any weaknesses in your team.  I hope you can play as well this saturday as you did the last two weeks.  It would be nice to see a midwest team get past Linfield.  Good Luck!

Appreciate the insight on UWW, fellas. Sounds like two of the biggest reasons the Warhawks are so much better than last season is their team speed and a much more balanced, proficient offense. I definately think this will be the most balanced offense Linfield has played against. We've played against real good running teams or solid passing teams, but UWW sounds like they have both.

Linfield is also much more balanced than people think. Our bread and butter is the pass but why would you not go with that when you have a stud like Elliott at QB and the set of receivers we have. However, this sets up a pretty decent running game, and our yards/game and yards/carry are definately up from last season.

You haven't seen a bunch of blowout predictions because few, if any, think it's going to be a blowout out here. Yeah, sometimes we predict blowouts but that's because we honestly think it will happen when we are likely 30-40 points better (and that last two seasons it has often turned out that way).

The only comments that aren't going to fly with 'Cat fans are the "they haven't seen a big, strong, punch-you-in-the-mouth team like UWW yet." We hear that all the time yet we always seem to score more points. Last year La Crosse and Rowan made our boys look like a bunch of purple midgets and yet the game was over by the second quarter. However, we understand the Warhawks seem to have a lot of speed and athleticism to go with their size. The field turf should allow both squads to utilize their speed. We can't wait to see a talented team like this come to the Catdome and have these guys settle it on the field.
A packed student section behind an end zone cheering on guys they will actually see in class on Monday is almost as cool as The Streak.

Thanks, Foss!!

You are always the voice of reason.  I love to read your stuff!  I get it about the smash mouth stuff.  Will keep it in mind.  That alone won't win you games anyway, that's for sure.

hawkshawkshawks

A little off topic but it looks like w/ the cats graduating alot this year and the hawks keeping alot uww would proly be a favoite for preseason #1, regardless of the outcome on sat. Not that it really means anything just thinking aloud.

Well, I know this won't be popular, but I'll make my prediction right now: Linfield wins 35-14.

Yes, the Warhawks play physical and have speed, but I still don't think they have enough speedy guys to keep up with the 'Cat receivers.  As for last week, I think the Linfield D had trouble adjusting to the unorthodox offense of Concordia.  UWW has a better O than Concordia, but it is more conventional and something that Linfield can prepare for.  I look for Linfield D to surprise UWW with THEIR physical play and hold the Warhawks to 2 TDs.

Just putting that out there now.......
If I'm wrong and UWW wins, I'll show up at anyone's tailgate to take my lumps on December 10. (Then I'll watch the Warhawks crush whatever team happens to come out of the south.)

you speak of the speed of Linfields WR? From what i have read about your best WR #8 the NFL scouts have timed him running a 40 at 4.67.  If this is accurate, Elliot is really making them look really good.  I truely think Elliot is that good, but the rest of the team is a normal d3 football team that has the capability of being beat.  I am sure this will be a great game and i am saving my perdictions until i have watched more film on Linfield, i think 35-14 is a little lopsided.  Good luck to all

Just a reminder that Linfield has won 6 stright NWC title and was 38-5 in four seasons from 2000-2003 before Elliott stepped on campus in 2004.  Granted Elliott made a huge difference but Linfield before Elliott was anything but a normal d3 team.

I don't know where you heard Casey Allen runs a 4.6.  I talked to an assistant coach at Linfield about a week ago who said he runs consistently in the low 4.5's.

Dr. Sparky

Hopefully, your D secondary will cover Allen, Hazenberg et al like "average" D3 players, too. I know they'd appreciate that.

This has to be wrong, three3s.  UWW has a couple of LB's that can run that! :D  And just a reminder, Linfields D Secondary will have their work cut out for them as well.

If thats the case then there are alot of 5 flat DB's out there,  Casey continues to make highlight catches and break away from coverage.

Eagle Cynic

I've seen straight speed and field speed.  3's you remember Scotty B...he didn't really ever run better than a 4.7, and he was behind you and your secondary for about 4 tds last year.
