Congrats to the Warhawks. I think you will find Wesley as worthy foe. I'll have to do some catching up on your team so I can compare notes with Wesley's. Wesley played in Wisconsin against the now defunct Madison College in 98 or 99. They bussed out so I am sure they wil enjoy another plane trip. There aren't many of us posters but we do have a few new one's that are a little over the top.
Here's to a fun week of posts and Good Luck. Wesley will represent the south well!

Great job Warhawks. I told you guys at the beginning of the week many out here thought this would be the best team Linfield has played in 2 years and that's exactly who we played.

I understand the UWW color commentator, who is a former UWW assistant and has seem a ton of football over the years repeatedly said Linfield was the best DIII football team he had ever seen. We appreciate those comments. If that is true (and this team was better than the team who won it all last year) than that says a lot about the talent and heart of your team to pull it out on the road.

Beaver is Beast. Appears many of your best players will be back next year. That is just plain scary. Win this thing and keep it in the West.
A packed student section behind an end zone cheering on guys they will actually see in class on Monday is almost as cool as The Streak.

Wesley probably didn't bus out to WI in Dec, though!!
Don't forget your longjohns!!

it was in the 20's today with a constant 15 to 20 mph wind. at the game and has been rather cold here the last two weeks

Outstanding game by both teams. My general impression is that the game we saw today was the National Championship. I'd be surprised if UW-WW doesn't breeze through now and win it all. I was continually impressed with Linfield's defense throughout the game and was equally dismayed at the bad luck the Wildcats had with untimely penalties, turnovers and funky fluke plays that kept UW-WW in the game and eventually led to the victory. Great performance by two excellent teams.....let's keep the Stagg in the West!

PS....George Thompson...why don't you come down to the Elks Club sometime and introduce yourself, I'm sure all of the guys/gals would like to meet you!

Memories of my first trip to WI in December, -68 windchill, not leaving my future in-laws house if at all possible. Oh and cars with extension cords, And calling Soda "pop" to try to fit in .

Let's hope we have another balmy Dec day like that next Sat!!

Warhawks and fans,

Congratulations on a great victory today.  You have made me a Beaver believer.  What an exciting game, back and forth all afternoon.  You truly are the champions.  We expect great things from you next week vs. Wesley.

We look forward to more great games with WISC teams in the future.

I wish safe return home for all Warhawks and fans.  After you take care of Wesley next week we expect you to send Mt. Union home again from the Stagg Bowl without the hardware they have been so proficient at amassing over the years.

Seoul---
My wife must be losing the Wi antifreeze in her blood after sitting out at the wesley game today (windchill, probably only in the low 20's). She was still cold around six this evening.

Conrad-

Congrats to coach Brez, and the warhawks. On not only todays victory but also the entire season so far. The record setting offense which returns nine of eleven starts which includes Jacobs,Stanley, and Beaver.
As well as the defense which had lost a large majority of the team after last season. However continues to be awesome.
Next weeks game against Wesley is going to be fun,as everyone knows whats on the line. Hopefully the people at WW will think of some creative way of getting as many students to the game as possible. If Voice see's this. Maybe getting shirts made saying pack the perk ,and giving them away to all students who enter the game will work. Hopefully Whitewater is not it;'s typical suitcase college self next weekend,as history is going to be made at Perkins stadium on Saturday December 10, 2005.
Go Warhawks, not only are you playing for yourselves at this point, but your playing for anyone who has ever been associated with the UW Whitewater football program, and every former warhawek football family member knows that you can get it done.
GO WARHAWKS

@d3jason

2 inches? That's a day off for the school kids here in Delaware. ;D

My wife has me on suicide watch.    Linfield lost and Wisconsin-Whitewater won.

Whitewater is best team Linfield played since St. Johns two years ago.     Congrats Warhawks---you earned and deserved the win.

Why did Linfield lose?     Simple:

•   No rushing attack

•   Too many penalties - 7 for 80 yards.   (91 for year; too many!)

•   Questionable play calling
No possible running attack.    Elliott in shotgun too                                                  much, no runner in backfield, 5 receivers.

2 long passes on Linfield's next to last possession.     They had lead 41-37; should have tried shorter passes just to get first down and KEEP THE BALL to run out the clock.

Yes, Elliott's pass interception in 2nd qtr.  hurt badly.    Pass should have never been thrown.

Sure, some penalties were questionable.    But, the Wildcats had too many penalties all year long.

Nevertheless, it was a great game.     Very similar to the Southern Oregon game three years ago.    Today, Wisconsin Whitewater took advantage of Linfield's weaknesses.    (shocking: Linfield was not perfect.)

So, again the slim few, arrogant posters, who believe Linfield will never lose, were wrong.    Overconfidently predicting Linfield will blow out any team is just silly.   Over-zealous boasting does not do Linfield proud.     Fortunately; that is just a very tiny minority of Linfield fans.

Next year: Linfield find a balanced offense.

Congratulations Wisoncin-Whitewater!

GO CATS GO!

Hey george I had to recheck the Linfield Football site to see if you were on the frickin coaching staff.  If you were a real fan you would take the loss like a man, stand behind the program and move on.  YOU ARE A LOSER in  my book

Just got back to the harbor, what a day.  First of all I want to congratulate WW on winning the west.  It was probably one of the most exciting games I have ever seen at the Catdome.  Bring the Iron home to the West.
