RedandPurple,

I know it hurts (I'm crushed) but you just have to take it and move on.

Crowds are crowds and a stupid chant doesn't mean squat.  Their fans seemed like really good people.

It was an EPIC battle and the emotions just ran over at the end.  They pulled off a huge win and I don't think their coaches were dissing anyone but just overjoyed.

Dee,

I know you're not a Whitewater fan and I STILL would have heckled you!

You are a class act, Wildcat11!!  It has been a pleasure posting with you!!!

Whoa Nelly

Congrats all WW fans - big win for your program and the WIAC.  Hope you keep the trophy in the West.

Act as if you've been there before ... oh yeah you haven't.

Man, those are some sour grapes. Let's not be so biased that we pretend Linfield fans are above all that stuff. I was heckled for a long time by some guy who thought I was a Whitewater fan because I was standing behind their banner in the north endzone. Later I heard an outpooring of "colorful" shouts as the ref's tried to make their way to their dressing room under the Linfield grandstand after the game.

And thanks to you as well, d-train and retiredoldrat!  It was an incredible emotional roller coaster for all and  got very intense at times.  Overall, I believe the majority of fans on both sides were respectful and showed good sportsmanship and any bad behavior was a limited amount and shared by both sides.  Good luck to all the senior Wildcats.  You have left a legacy to be proud of!!!

11,

I fully intended to heckle you, yell insults, throw popcorn and peanuts, and generally make your cord duties a nightmare. But the game was just too engaging and I forgot all about it. Then I saw your ring at halftime, which reminded me that you were fair game. But alas, I still dropped the ball. :-[

413,

I wouldn't strech that far to say I'm all class.  I can be just as big of a donkey as other trolls.  I just know when you get beat, you give your respect to the team that did it, and you try to move on the best you can.

I hate seeing my 'Cats lose (especially this group) but Whitewater did it at the 'Catdome and you have to respect that.

Dee,

I thought Lutes were to show class at all times and never say anything bad to anyone? ;)  Did you make sure you helped old ladies across the street while you were on campus?

RedandPurple

...Now that you've had some practice, losing graciously should come easier next time. ;D

Yeah, that EMAL stuff was the real thing the halted my heckling plans. I chatted with Craig McCord for awhile before kickoff and that kind of reminded me who I was representing at the Catdome. Didn't help any old ladies, unfortunately, so it was only a partial EMAL outing. But I did escort GHC away from the sauce and back to Maxwell Field for the second half.

Sorry, but how is that any different than you starting off in this direction by saying "...oh yeah you haven't [been there before]" over here on their board? What are you calling him on that you aren't guilty of yourself? Are you going after the worst troll of the year award?

And you didn't....LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL

I, at least, had a reason to respond in the manner I did.   Your's, the fan's yelled "over rated, " was pathetic.

Why don't you guys take this back on your own board.

Just thought I'd get that in before anyone else did.

My so what? is I went into the midst of a Warhawk tailgate camp and said "Welcome!" Got a luke warm reaction. Firgured I was the 20th guy to interrupt their conversation or something.

41 seconds left in the game and I sought out one of the younger guys I'd seen and stuck out my hand and he SLAPPED it away with something like
"Naw, naw, naw, your quarterback is too (unintelligible)"
I took that to mean with Elliott the game was not quite over.
I'll remember it because I was taken back but I can forgive the rude behavior of a, shall I say, momentous moment.

Okay,
Well history was made and the warhawks did what many people never thougt they could which was beat the undefeated national champions.
However they are not done yet,and have another big game this week against Wesley. I am sure coach Brez told them this afternoon in the meeting how good they are,and he will be the one to make sure everyone is back in reality today.
As far as redandpurples complaint about the overrated chants. Please give me a break. The warhawks beat the defending national champions. I believe that their fans have every reason to chant that. As no one except the warhawk players, coaches families, and the entire warhawk nation (i.e. anyone who was ever involved in the program) believed that they could win
What do you expect them to chant, and I would expect that same thign to happen if the roles were reversed. Of course no one from WW would complain.
Okay enough about Linfield.
"TO BE THE BEST YOU GOTTA BEAT THE BEST" and thats what the warhawks did.
Wesley your next.

Sorry you didn't get welcomed into the WW tailgate camp with open arms.  That was wrong.  Guess you didn't find us!  We were having a great time with many very generous Wildcat fans and we would have loved to have you!  Sounds like you ran into the few bad apples so thanks for the understanding!

It sure seems as though many Warhawk fans are still caught up in the hoopla of beating #1 ranked and defending national champion Linfield. I sure hope those same fans understand that a very good team stands in the way of WW earning a trip to Salem in two weeks.  Wesley is a very dangerous team because of their offensive capability.  Since their only loss of the season to SUNY Brockport, the Wolverines have won by the scores of:  63-19, 59-13 and in the playoffs, 59-14, 46-36 at 4th ranked Mary Hardin-Baylor, and 46-6 over 17th ranked Bridgewater (VA).

Wesley averages 44 points a game and has passed for nearly 3,700 yards. It is my opinion that Wesley deserves a hell of a lot of respect and it they will be a VERY formidible foe for the Warhawks at Perkins Stadium on Saturday.

Lets "Pack the Perk" on Saturday!

Thanks for the info Voice.  I don't think these boys will make the mistake of underestimating their opponent.  They just came through a firestorm and showed great poise while doing it!  Everyone will be ready, I'm sure!!!   The coaching staff will see to it!
Go Hawks!!  Beat the Wolverines!!  Wow, alot of "W's" in these finals!!!! ;D

Maroon&Gold

Well as much as I hate to do so ;)  I bring tidings of good luck and well wishes to all Warhawk faithful from Cobberland.  As much as I dislike every other team when the Cobbs are playing, it is now time for the West to bond together and support our representative.

I would like nothing better than to see UWW walk through the semis and the finals to prove again the  strength of the West Region. Will that happen?? I don't know, but good luck Warhawks!
