Obviously, I did not go to the game this year, but watched it on "The Deuce" like all of you.
First...  I am so happy that my Purple Raiders came out of this contest victorious.  I believe that it was their #1 or #2 sweetest Stagg Bowl win.
Second...I am so happy that the Warhawks were a part of this game.  It was exciting, and it was not over until it was over!  If there was a fat lady singing, it was not until the clock hit :00, and it must have been that blonde MUC trainer in the background, behind Coach Kehres, on so many TV shots. (Oooh... I am going to hear about that comment.  Negative karma will abound.  But I did not say anything bad about St. John's or Wabash...mmmmm all boys schools...go figure..., so what Post Patterns Mafia will smite me???)
This is not "empty," and it may be hard to accept today, but I congratulate the Warhawks on a spectacular season.  I am one, for no real good reason, who always wants to see the National Champion be an undefeated team (unblemished record...leaves no doubt/debate).  If I had no ties to MUC, you would have been my team today.  I honestly feared the blow-out after the Warhawk score off the interception in the first quarter, and then relished a blow-out after MUC was up 28-7.  It never happened either way.  This game added a campaign streamer to where D3 football has already established itself "on the map."
Third...  I respect that the Warhawks played MUC in those non-conference games in 2002-2003.  The competition benefitted both programs.

I am off to a Christmas party, now.  Will a purple shirt, a MUC National Champions tie, purple Santa hat, and bottles of CHEAP Andre Cold Duck champaign (with purple foil top) be a bit too much????

Thanks again, and best wishes.

I was one of the few MUC fans who picked UWW to win this game. The way you opened the game with the first score and the 4Q comeback were the reasons.  A hard fought,
great game UWW.
You have a young team so take a few days off and start working towards a return trip next year.

Kinda along the lines of what jdean said...  My family and I are MUC'ers, and I am a dedicated fan, and thus, a BELIEVER, but I was prepared for a loss today...and maybe even a big loss...and not ashamed at all about it.

In the end, the scoreboard was in my team's favor, but not to sound cliche, the game, overall, was "priceless!

Go Thunder...I think your top three is accurate for the end of this season.

1. Mount
2. UWW
3. Linfield

But I don't think Linfield will be there in next years pre-season poll.  I think the pollsters see how much they are losing and figure they can't possibly reload that kind of firepower.

On the other hand, WW and Mount look to be extremely young...SCARY!

Sorry but Linfield has to be below Rowan in the final poll.

JT...you want to make a bet on that!  ;)

Yeah, WC, I'd like some of that action too. No way should LC be behind the ``Beast of the Least.''

Fun game to watch, although the field was rough. I'm sure the Salem crew did all they could.

You've got to love a game with solid backs on both teams. Could be some great careers ahead for both of these young guys.

Congrats to both teams -- there was a ton of talent on the field today.

Ain't betting... I don't control the vote.  profs played well w/o some of their best players against the Champion.  Linfield didn't play the champion nuff said.

Please...Rowan being ranked ahead of Linfield is like Orihel being considered a better QB than Elliott.  Yeah, Rowan played MUC "tough" but the Profs still have zero rings to show for it.

Mr. Ypsi

I'll take a stab at top five in the final poll:

MUC
UWW
Linfield
Rowan/Capital - either order

I won't even comment, WC and repete said it all.  I'd put my house on this one.  The "Beast of the Least" will be lucky if they're ranked 4th, should be dropped to 6th for those yellow uni's  :o...

Andy: I like Bill Curry as a TV analyst about as much as anyone (except for his mama), but over 12 years Mike Tomczak played for the Bears, Packers, Browns and Steelers. I have no information about Gary Bender's playing experience.

JT

W/O Elliot you wouldn't have a ring... so you need to chill

downtown48

My bad JT, W/O Elliott we would have only beat you 42-0.  Last time I checked Elliott didn't win the Stagg Bowl on his own last year, our D held the #1 rushing offense in check, that's what won the game...Face it, you're O'fer and sour about it...

JT

Oooh yeah.  Keep hitting the karma you turds!!!

I agree that ESPN2's announcing team were clueless on many accounts.  They acted as though they were in-season pro's who know all about D-3.  I noticed it when they were running down each school's regular season.  That is part of the reason why I think the TV crew should be from a D-3 background.
Final Top5--  1) Mt. Union 2) UWWhitewater 3) Rowan 4) Linfield 5) Capital
I was impressed with the way Capital performed in the post season.
Besides Whitewater, who is predicted to give the Warhawks a run next year in the WIAC?
