Yeah, they had the MUC and UWW logos reversed throughout the game.  I got confused after the half when the "keys to game" for MUC was to "get Beaver more touches".   Oh well, can you blame them---both teams in Purple and the guys at ESPN didn't know much about D3 or the two teams.  BTW:  I'm not trying to convince YOU about Schmidt's non-TD catch but, uh....the instant replay coninced me (much to my own disapointment).
Go Cats!

Congratulations to White Water on a great season.  This was a great Stagg Bowl, and both teams left it all on the field.

I had the pleasure of talking to Justin Beaver's Uncle at breakfast Saturday.  If you're reading this, I'm glad your nephew got his record.  I know he would gladly trade it for a championship ring, but that does not diminish his achievement.

And to the lady from White Whater who had the courage to "bum" a ride to the stadium with two Mt. Union fans, I hope you had a safe flight home.  Tell your hubby to keep the cameras rolling and maybe we'll see each other again next year.

Again, congratulations to UWW on a great year and a great team.

As with all fo the other UWW posters. I also want to congratulate coach Berezowitz on a great season. They got to the championship game, and that says something about them. Unfortunately the ESPN people all they did was talk about Mount Union. Whitewater was playing in the agme as well as was actually the undefeated team, and higher ranked team at # 3 on TV and number 1 after beating Linfield two weeks ago.
I though the biggest turning point of the game was Whitewaters inability to score from the two yardline in the beginning of the second half.
If whitewater scores it could have been a totally different game. As it would have been tied at 14-14.
I was just wondering what made whitewaters OC want to run a play to beaver as well as a pass play instead of the famous fullback wedge or QB sneak which could have easily worked. I think back in 2002 UWW ran the wedge like 14 times in a row against UW Stout.
Oh well this is a question which most likely will never be answered. At least the hawks avoided the Monkey stomp, with the great comeback at the end of the game.

I, too would like to express my thanks to everyone that was down in Salem and made this the best Stagg Bowl yet for me.

Congrats to UWWW on a great game and a great season--and Congrats to Justin Beaver for setting the rushing record.

Stone Station was amazing--I remember meeting a bunch of you guys in Alliance a few years ago--had a great time then--had an even better time this year.  You do ODAC and Bridgewater proud--you are truely a class act--too bad more of D-III doesn't get the opportunity to see the kind of sportsmanship that you display by coming down and supporting not just your team, but the whole Stagg concept as well.

All of you who missed the pregame activities in the parking lot missed a lot of what DIII is all about--MUC and UWWW fans having a good time together--sharing chicken, brownies and fellowship sponsored by ODAC and Bridgewater fans.  I wish all sporting events could be this fantastic.

Thanks again for a great season and Congrats to the Warhawks!
Reloading--Again, and again, and again....

Johnnie Red

Congrats to the Warhawks on a great game Saturday and for the excellent season. I hope the Johnnies see you again next fall in the playoffs, though in Collegeville.

Merry Christmas to everyone in Whitewater and all the best in the New Year! :)

I'm back at work after approximately 3900 miles of driving over last week, which culminated in my guys still searching for what we all set out as players to do: win the Stagg.  What I wouldn't give to be taking an exam in college right now versus sitting at my desk at work right now.  Wait, check that, I can still get paid to go take a nap on the *******.  Excuse me.

Uh, no.  The "classy" behavior came from the WWW fans that where chanting "F-U', "F-U', "F-U", to the Mount players coming onto the field for the pre-game warm-ups.  Classy all the way!  If,and it's a huge "IF", but if you ever get back to Virginia, please act like you've been there before and show some respect!

I suppose the drunken MU students who swore and called me a profane name as I walked through the parking lot prior to the game were setting the example our kids should follow, right?

It ain't that hard to find examples of inappropiate behavior on both sides hscoach, so get off the high and mighty horse.

Not sure if it's been asked yet, but in watching the game in a bar with a few onlookers, a majority, plus myself, were stunned that UWW did not kick the field goal in the third quarter to make it 14-10???? I think that was the score. Instead, they get stopped on fourth down, and then the long run and MUC up 21-7.

Any thoughts? I think at that point in the game, you put the points up to get some or any momentum heading toward the fourth.

Greg,I boosted your karma to -67. You're brave to raise the point. But since it is a fact...
I found it odd that MUC players were primping.  I have not seen that in Division III.
I do not blame them because of the importance of the event and I did not want to see any flags thrown just because a receiver stood in the end zone after he scored with his hands on his hips looking at the stands with the necked tweaked just so to give the 'ain't I the coolest thing on TV right now?' pose nor when a defensive lineman made a crucial stop and trotted back to the bench in a crescent path with arms a'kilter like Shwarzenegger  in "Stay Hungry".
Perhaps this is commonplace in the OAC?

Greg-- We'll keep the "DWEEB"   The only thing you boys know about commonplace and the OAC is Championships!  Quit your crying, or is that COMMON for you :P Happy Holidays ;D

To everyone that is still posting on the behavior of the other team's fans during the game, I have an important message for you : no one really cares.  In any college football atmosphere anywhere, especially when stakes are high, fans tend to show disrespect to the other team and the other teams fans, even if it's just one or two people who say something extremely stupid.  Stupid people are a part of everyday life.  Get used to this fact.  They are at the gas station, they drive the same roads you do, and we work with them everyday.  You people act suprised that you hear chants against you, or hear the occasional swear word that is meant to demoralize your team.  This isn't ideal by any means, but you have to come to expect to hear things of this nature at a game such as this.  Some of you act suprised when you hear such things.  Was it the first time you took a verbal kick to the nuts?  Most of the people that I know from UWW have common sense, and we care less about the things we heard or the things that some of things that our own fans said about Mount Union.  Bottom line : MUC was victorious.  Talk about that, and maybe those who just made All-American.

Enjoy him. He fits your style it seems. Congrats on your championship. You've proved again to do it with class, dignity and a good head on your shoulders. Everything this beautiful game should stand for. I'd like to now send around a petition to have the Pro Football Hall of Fame moved from Canton to Alliance in an effort to bring more me-first attitudes to D-3. It's nice that kind of bush can be showcased on national television. Imagine all the fans who said "Wow, even D-3ers pull that ****." Again, thanks to you and Keyshawn for your candid responses.

What are you talking about?   I coached a little league team full of 8-10 year olds.. guess what.. they pose, high step, dance, etc.  as well.    I guess I'm having a hard time trying to imagine a fan that would say "Wow, even D-3ers pull that ****", because as far as I can tell in every sport on every level there are players that express their excitement.  (although the volume of celebration may vary)    ::)   Stop trying to pick at MUC they played just as hard as UWW, they just happened to win.  If you or anyone else has a problem with expressions of excitement during a sporting event I would HIGHLY suggest you stay home and watch the Discovery channel.  It is fairly hard NOT to be excited when you're playing for a National Championship and you've just made a play that may help your team WIN a National Title not to mention the excitement of being on TV/ESPN.   I know it may be hard to fathom as  a fan that I'm guessing never made it to a national championship game, Greg, but it's exciting.  I don't see how you can fault a 20 something year old kid for being excited.    Again stop picking on MUC for being better on 12-17-05, I know a loss is hard to swallow when it's on the level of the Stagg Bowl but please, give MUC their due and honor your own players at UWW for playing hard.  Don't pick on a kid for being excited.  ::) ???

BACK TO WHY I CAME TO THIS BOARD:

Congrats UWW!  Keep up the good/hard work and I hope to see you make another run at the title!  -A Bridgewater College Fan-

Bridgewater fan, I am not a UWW, WIAC, MUC or OAC fan. I just said what I saw on TV was a display that took away from his team's performance. I'm sorry you don't agree.
