Two good WIAC teams to start the season at Collegeville. Mighty exciting stuff with all the higher seed implications for later in the season. Always thought Hoffner was an outstanding coach..is one of his assistants likely to move up? What kind of a run offense does RF use with Anderson?

River Falls has run the wishbone offense for a very long time.   They'll be projected to finish closer to the bottom than the top next year.  How good they are will remain to be seen.

Anderson is a punishing bruiser.

Does Whitewater play St Norbert, Xavier and Lakeland again this year?

[quote author=stoutguy link=topic=3741.msg471714#msg471714   If you heard Coach Hoffner on our "Western Wisconsin Sports Saturday" show on Sat., he did not mince any words about what he perceived as lack of support from his administration.

Stoutguy - Living in Virginia, I have a difficult time getting Menomonie radio stations.  But I couldn't agree more, support for the athletic program at EC over the last 5-6 years has been a struggle.  With the UW System cuts and rising athletic department debt, there isn't much money to go around.  Most teams ended up doing tons of fundraising on their own to support their programs.

wiacfan,

"Western Wisconsin Sports Saturday" as well as most BlueDevil basketball games are streamed on the internet.
My company sponsors the Saturday morning radio show that is on 8am-10am Central time. You can access it and the BlueDevil game broadcasts if you like through the website in my profile.

KennethK,

UW-Whitewater is tentatively scheduled to  open its 2006 football season at home vs. Lakeland College on Thursday night, August 31st. They are not scheduled to play either Saint Norbert or St. Xavier this fall.
While a full slate of games has been tentatively scheduled, the schedule has not yet been confirmed by either the school or the conference

Stouguy,

I'd love to know the WWSS lineup on a weekly basis, who the guests are, etc. Can you post it here?

Pat,
Jason, my partner, lines up the guests, but I will get it nailed down by Thursday and post it on the WIAC Basketball board then.  Hope to talk to you again, soon.

Has anyone heard how WIAC recruiting is going so far? I heard that Widuch is coming back to Whitewater, which is good news for Warhawk fans.  Anyone heard any other news regarding incoming recruits, both high schoolers and/or transfers?

KennethK

Now that it is official..Johnnies opening with the Bluegolds and the Falcons, any thoughts on how the WIAC will play out this year.  Obviously WW comes in number two in the nation behind MU.  Can Stout, LX or EC challenge the Hawks?

Anyone watch the superbowl?   Did anyone noticed who made the first tackle of the game?

One clue...He was a former D3 player at UWSP...

Congrats to Clint Kriewaldt on a superbowl win...way to make the WIAC proud!!

Rumors out of whitewater Wisconsin have it that Booker Stanley is going to be transferring to UW Whitewater to enroll in school, and finish his football career.
This would be a great addition to the warhawks. However how will it affect the backfield Beaver is awesome. However getting Stanley would greatly benefit them as well.

Considering the rest of us, I'm hoping that's all it is...    a rumor!

Booker Stanley will not be playing for WHITEWATER[/color] next year.  He'll be lucky if he is out of jail at this time next year.   Booker needs to get his life straightened out, football is secondary at this point.

On the other hand Rob Widuch will and that is excellent news.

With as much baggage as he would be bringing - Does UWW really want him?

He is currently charged with:

2nd Degree Sexual Assault
2nd Degree Reckless Endangering of Safety
Battery - 4 counts
Bail-Jumping - Felony

plus from block party earlier in the year:

Battery
Disorderly Conduct
Bail-Jumping - 2 Misdemeanors

Not sure I would want someone with that baggage associated with my program.
