Stout guy -

I was really happy to see you on your way to the bean farm this morning!

...just curious, how'd you get the "Orkin" stickers off your truck?  However you did it, you  succeeded!

Tom Lange is also known in downtown Whitewater as the Godfather of 10-cent tapper night at the local watering holes.  The more I think about it, I don't think I've seen Tom purchase many full-price beverages except for dime tappers!

Since friday will be "tom lange" day, here is a story from about 18 years ago...
So the story goes:  It was found out that old Tom loved Elvis ;) so one or more members of the team had ordered the time/life Elvis collector plate set to be sent COD.  It was set up so that the plates would arrive when Tom was out of town for two weeks.  Well the plates arrived and since there was no Tom around,  his neighbors (he was living in the apts  Near Harmony Dr. I believe) paid the COD on the plates.  Of course when Tom got back and was handed the plates with the bill from his neighbors he wasn't too happy.  But he got over it.  Just like he did with the pizza wars and the deaf guy calling the cab for a ride prank and the girl scout cookie fiasco.  Happy Tommy Lange day!!!!!

Rico,
Here's the real deal on getting the Orkin stickers off the truck.  I didn't.  I got so much grief about looking like "Larry the Cable guy" because of my truck, I traded it for a little white one with a gold sripe and everything.  Only thing is because it's a smaller truck, now they call me "Little Larry".

Isn't that illegal for boosters to take players out to dinner?

1_For_27

Ya, maybe. But it is lange we are talking about here.  He takes you to a fine 9.95 special. he is the unoffical team dad.

So as it is thirsty thursday, everyone should raise a Beast Light to Tom Lange tonight !!!!!!!!

I heard that any players he has dinner with have to foot some of the bill like the tip.

So how did spring ball go for everyone around the WIAC?

CaptainKurt

I heard Whitewater's offense installed 7,000 plays over spring practice.  That's a good start.

Bluegold...Seems like most posters think EC will be a middle of the pack team in 06.  What does the new coach have to work with?

CaptainKurt

I broke my knee a two weeks ago, had surgery on Monday, and sat back down to d3football for the first time in about two weeks, and not a damn thing to talk about hey??

Captain..Sorry to hear about the knee..Couple things for you..any late word on that suspended D-Back from the Badgers transferring to WW?  Pre-season polls being only about six weeks away...not much doubt WW comes in number 2 behind Mount Union.  You think any other WIAC team deserves top ten or top twenty preseason?

Congratulations  to UWW Warhawk Wide Reciever Derek Stanley.  He completed his fifth career All-American performance this week at the 2006 NCAA Division III Track and Field Championships.  The talented athlete finished third in the long jump competition held on Thursday, May 25, 2006. Stanley jumped 23-feet 11 ¾ inches at the national meet.
Info courtesy of Warhawkfootball.com!    Way to go, Derek!!!

This should give you something to talk about.  Very interesting way to build a program.  Nothing like the spirit of true D3 athletics ringing thru......

Whitewater - Tailback Booker Stanley, who was kicked off the University of Wisconsin football team in February, and cornerback Antonio Freeman, who was suspended indefinitely from the team in January, have inquired about transferring to UW-Whitewater, which reached the Division III national title game last season.

Stanley, a former standout at Whitefish Bay High School, faces multiple charges stemming from two incidents in the last year. The most serious of those charges are second-degree sexual assault and second-degree recklessly endangering safety, both felonies.

Freeman, from Wauwatosa West, was recently placed in a first offender's program after being charged with possession of marijuana in Jefferson County. If he completes the six-month program he will not face prosecution...............

I find easily offended people rather offensive!

Statistics are like bikinis; what they reveal is interesting, what they hide is essential.

footballfan413

I think it is very doubtful that Stanley will be accepted into the program even if he is able to be in camp with all the legal problems.  As for Freeman, he's a first-time offender for possession of marijuana.........doesn't everyone deserves a second chance?   Anyone is free to inquire about a program.......

Besides, hscoach,  check in on this board alittle more often.  This topic was kicked around shortly after the article was published over a month ago.    ;) ;) ;)
