No Booker Stanlewy is not transferring to Whitewater.
So l;ets shoot that nhorse and send it to the glue factor, so the little kindergartners have some glue to use this fall.

Nobody says it quite like you, SOR.

CaptainKurt-Although the list of other Captains is impressive, YOU are still THE MAN. Sorry to hear about your knee injury, hope you are healing well, and congrats on your new coaching job. I may come to the game Sunday night with Joe. Good luck!
If you can't ignore an insult, top it; if you can't top it, laugh it off; and if you can't laugh it off, it's probably deserved.

CaptainKurt

Thanks Janesville.  Even with one knee, I can dig Kangeroo out of his grave and beat him severly, and you can tell Captain Kirk from Star Trak that I sh*t faster than the Voyager can travel.  Star Trak??  More like Gay Trak....right?? The only captains who have a leg up on me would be Captain Morgan for obvious reasons, as well as the 2006 UWW captain duo of Ryan Kleppe and Justin Jacobs.  To all the other captains out there: get the recipe.

Mr. Downtown

Hey guys, its been awhile since I've posted on this board. I noticed that we got a soccer board too now!

So far from Oshkosh at least what we media/fans are a little worried about is the defensive side of the ball (what!! no way!!). Lost a lot of experienced talent, so to bounce back where they were last year would show just how good of a program Coach Meyer is starting...or show that these past couple of years are flukes.

For once their is some excitement in the air for Oshkosh when September comes. I think they will do well, but i don't know if they will win the WIAC this year, or make it to the play-offs. One thing is for sure, they should be in the mix at the end.

Mr. Downtown,  I think I have read something simular to this subject the last four or so years out of Oshkosh.  No offense, (or defense as you said) but the Titan has always been a year or two away.
I may not have much to say, but I'll say it anyway.

KennethK

Nine weeks and counting..SJU vs EC.  New coach, new QB..sounds like a rebuilding year for the Bluegolds?

Mr. Downtown

Pastprime...

Did you watch any WIAC football last year??

sorry for bringing this back up...I have missed the last couple of weeks, so i couldn't respond efficiently.
You can hate me or love my comments, but i have an opinion too  :)

I commend the person who brought up the question regarding stout's WR.  He approached it in the correct manner.  His first word was "rumor."  This would notify everyone who read it that the contents may not be true.  He ended it with something to the effect of "can anyone verify this information?"

He is asking a valid question of something he heard (granted his account seems suspicious).  He never accused the person of doing anything, but brought up a statement that he had heard.  There is no harm in asking if a rumor he heard can be verified.  I think it is better that he came here and asked the question in the way he did, than if he would have walked around campus spreading the rumor that he heard.  We (the regular forum readers) take most negative comments with a grain of salt anyways until they can be proven truthful.

Also, players are repeatedly told that they are representative of the university where they play football.  I am sure that most (if not all) of the recent athletes have been warned by their coaches at some point in their careers (I can not vouch for all) to stay out of trouble- I know my team was.  This society feeds on the negatives in people's life, just pick up the sunday paper, US weekly, Entertainment Weekly, or turn on ESPN.  The news only revolves around the greatness of a person or the horrific things they do.  An athlete's personal life is put in the public's eye because they choose to play a sport (which puts them on a pedestal- which i don't agree with, but can not change)-for reference see Brett Meyer's alleged wife abuse, or Peter Gammon's aneurysm of yesterday's news.  Also, legal matters are of public record, so although some might say it is not our business, it is open for all to see and comment about.

It is tragic that people's names are brought up in rumors, but what we should do is quietly squash the rumors by giving correct information or ignoring the person's who repeatedly accuse (as this forum has done in the past).  This forum has been relatively good at discerning the true from the false, but please do not shoot the messenger if the information is incorrect.

WG, I couldn't agree with you less.

Seems pretty clear he created a rumor and brought it on here.

Spreading rumors in any kind of public way is bogus, period.

It is tragic that people's names are brought up in rumors.....

Although I somewhat agree with both sides of this incident to a degree, I don't think it is "tragic" that people's names are brought up in rumor's.  Finding that you have cancer in your ass is tragic.

Having your name brought up in a rumor is just a pain in the ass, but it's definitely not "tragic".

Thanks for reading my post.  You guys are the best.

CK,  You just leaped ahead of Captain Kirk and Captain Kangaroo in my book, and you're in a dead heat with Captain Morgan.  :)

Happy 4th of July to you and everyone in the WIAC nation.  8)

Seems to me it should have been-"rumor has it a Stout WR got in some trouble, can anyone confirm or deny the rumor?"

I am now looking at taking up residency in Florida.  I have been working here for about 2 weeks and not only is it the worst time of the year for the weather, they also don't have any DIII sports, particularly football.  I am willing to give up Wisconsin winters and income tax for Florida overall climate and no state income tax.  I know this sounds like a no brainer but the feeling isn't quite right.  I will give this decision a very thorough trial period.
I may not have much to say, but I'll say it anyway.

My dad went down there when he was still working. Stayed a year and moved back. Now, 30 years later, he's back there and loves it. Maybe it's not the place to work, but a good place to retire?
