Heck Adam Schneider from UW-L graduated high school in 1998 and he played all the way until 2004...he had some injury problems and short credited numerous spring semesters to keep eligibility

CaptainKurt

You're all right.  Two points to Weinstein for being persistant.  That does go a long way.  And I'd be lying if I said that I wouldn't play this year if I had a year of elgibility left.  I suppose I could still use my redshirt year.  I have one semester left to do that.

So, give the guy a little credit for persistance. Heck, I know plenty of guys that took 7 years to get through college!  ;)

To take a quote from "tommy boy"  Yeah they're called doctors.  ;D

For what it's worth, as reported in today's EC Leader-Telegram:

UW-Whitewater is ranked #2, UWL is #28, UW-Stout is #33 and UWEC is #34 in the Don Hansen National Weekly Football Gazette preseason Top 40.

Mount Union is #1....

Pat, I'm having trouble posting replys and sending pms.  Even tho it says, Hey Pastprime, you have 0 messages and 0 are new at the top of the page, it will then deny me after I type my message. ?
I may not have much to say, but I'll say it anyway.

Greek Tragedy

Badger,

Who's that idiot at Whitewater that has been there for 10 years as a student and has actually bragged about it?  Wow, something I'd be proud about!  ;)

Of course he's not an athlete, just a kid who doesn't want to grow up.  Kind of like Peter Pan.  I've heard that he's decided to enroll again rather than follow through with his original plan to graduate.  Evidently there are some classes he hasn't repeated yet. :D

Looks like Booker Stanley won't be playing for anyone, anywhere for awhile ..... http://nbc15.madison.com/news/headlines/3394671.html

One quick question.  Stout lists his 2001 stats on there page.  If he received a medical redshirt for that year, are the stats still counted toward his career totals, or are these stats disregarded?  Just wondering.

That's a big negative.  All stats count for any games he played prior to being injured.  Logically, it has to be that way.  What if he had scored a touchdown in a 3-point victory in 2001?  Would you erase the stat and overturn the victory?  Of course not.

Mr. Downtown

How many of you guy's are going to the WIAC Media Day Conference?

I know I will be attending, along with TitansRUs.

Also, some pretty big Media news for the conference.

Starting this year, TTV (Titan TV) Sports will be streamming over 50 athletic events this year! So any of you fans that would love to see your school play on the road, or family members that live far, far away you can watch the same exact broadcast that we display on cable. (Two commentators, graphics, instant replay, 4 cameras, sideline reporter, the whole works).

Also, you can watch my show, Inside The Locker-Room, via the web. So if you want any insider info on UW-oshkosh, it can easily be done.

But the BIG news for the Media is the anticpated deal that Fox Sports North and the WIAC are going to make.

It looks like a 5 year, 75,000 per year deal that brings 1.25 million dollars to the conference in 5 years. They will be doing some games this upcoming year, to get a feel for the stadiums, courts...and I think to see how much interest there is for it. It looks like there will be a WIAC game of the week deal, that will be broadcasted LIVE throughout the Wisconsin. Its a great deal, however for campus TV stations like us, it hurts because we won't be able to broadcast those games anymore. Oh well, that's why the business created internships!

Myself and my crew have been working really hard to present the best possible telecasts week in and week out for UW-Oshkosh (and it has paid off, as I was awarded 2nd place for best college broadcaster in the country), and now, I hope fans outside of the Fox Valley can enjoy it too.

When newer info comes out, you will know.

and oh yeah, September 23rd Oshkosh vs Whitewater will be a Fox Sports North game, any of you guys know of earlier dates?

Sakman 1111

Great to see the WIAC get some TV coverage. That Osh Kosh vs. Whitewater game should be fun being it is a night game. Congrats to Don Hansen Gazette pre-season all-americans first and second teamers from the Warhawks----Beaver, Ramseier, Sakellaris, and Kleppe. Summer camp is right around the corner....

I just wondered.  I was looking at is a records perspective.  Let's say a certain RB puts up 800-1000 yards in his first 3 games one season, then gets injured and uses a medical redshirt.  He goes on to set the NCAA record for career rushing yards.  Would there be an asterick by his name because he achieved the record by using more than the "standard/normal" number of games?

I know that some people associated with MUC made a comment about Beaver's record because his record included playoff games, whereas the former record holder did it only in regular season games.  So I guess I just refuted my own question.  ;D  The NCAA changes rules, and as they do, certains records are subject to controversy.

cheers

It is tragic that people's names are brought up in rumors.....

Although I somewhat agree with both sides of this incident to a degree, I don't think it is "tragic" that people's names are brought up in rumor's.  Finding that you have cancer in your ass is tragic.

Having your name brought up in a rumor is just a pain in the ass, but it's definitely not "tragic".

Thanks for reading my post.  You guys are the best.

CK,  You just leaped ahead of Captain Kirk and Captain Kangaroo in my book, and you're in a dead heat with Captain Morgan.  :)

Happy 4th of July to you and everyone in the WIAC nation.  8)

I think you forgot to mention everyone's favorite--- Captain Crunch ::)
