Ask your question on the WIAC board and you'll get answers.  The policy of the board is not to start new threads that only discuss one team.

QuoteShort of contacting the University itself with my question, I thought I'd start on this board (this is my first post, besides coming here would be more interesting than calling the school).

Does anyone know why UW-L has TWO bye weeks?  And of their nine game schedule, only THREE game are at home?  Who's responsible for this inequity?  It just doesn't seem right.  I'm more curious than upset.

Looking forward to another great season of DIII football!

From what Coach Terry was telling the Media a couple of weeks ago, is that:
A) No one wants to play La Crosse
B) They tried to get as many non-conference games they can, and only landed two
C) Both non-conference games they had to travel in order to play them
D) it's their turn for the 3/4 ratio of home games this year in the WIAC.

Again, for a newbie I don't expect you to know the sticky situation that the WIAC is in when it comes to nonconference games.

Best way to explain it: When you're the best, it's hard to play the best. Unless you are willing to travel, than you can play anyone you want.

Rule of thumb: 1) if you play your betters, you travel; 2) if you play your peers, you play home and home; and 3) if you play your lessers, they travel.

does this board really exist?
Cut him some slack.  It was started by a newbie, so I'm trying to help him out with how the board works.

Thanks, Bill.  But how do you post a new topic?  There are nearly 4000 replies under the "WIAC" subject line.  Seeing the popularity of the board (140K views), I don't want to have to sift through endless pages of postings to see the conversation relative to my postings.  ???

Pat Coleman

You don't have to sift. Click on the page number for the most recent page.

This topic is about to get merged into the full WIAC file.

Thanks, Pat.  I appreciate all you do for DIII football!

I'm a UW-L ('91) grad, and I've been following Indian.. ooops, I mean Eagle football for 20 years.  Are these scheduling difficulties a recent development over the past few years or so?  Do all the upper eschelon teams in the WIAC have the same scheduling challenges?

If you can't ignore an insult, top it; if you can't top it, laugh it off; and if you can't laugh it off, it's probably deserved.
