Congratulations to the Warwhawks on another great game!!  Defense gets better each week.
UW-Whitewater, "Where Champions Play"

bulk19

Whitewater 34, UWEC 0

Had you told me the Blugolds would have seemingly done a good job of containing Justin Beaver in the first half, I would have thought the score might have been closer than it was. Unfortunately for UWEC, their punter, Mitch Schaeuble, seemed to have more touches and time of possession with the ball in the first half than Beaver did, and Whitewater just used other weapons - the passing game.

27-0 at half, after rolling to a 24-0 lead after the first quarter. 'Hawks had the ball with great field position the whole half, with almost each drive starting in Blugold territory. Two nice TD receptions by Derek Stanley and Pete Schmitt, on fairly good coverage. Jacobs put the ball where only his receivers could make the play...

What was impressive in the Hawks' offense and play calling was that whenever they got the ball, via turnover or change of possession, they went for the jugular in the first quarter. Threw passes down field on first down, two for TDs...

Blugolds defense didn't play all that poorly. Still waiting for the offense to show up, though. Had three drives inside the 30 for chances to get the skunk out of the box in the final quarter, but the Hawks shut them down. 'Golds couldn't even get a half yard on 4th and inches, to keep a drive alive. Ended up with a pass play, if I recall??? If you can't run it for a yard, you don't deserve to score...

Not sure the 'Golds were much of a test for the Hawks, though, who didn't do much in my eyes to lose their status as the #2 team in the country... They were impressive... Golds will have to regroup for a homecoming match against River Falls...

Highlights if you were a 'Gold today were seeing the band at halftime, along with legendary basketball coaches/Blugold HOFers Lisa Stone and Ken Anderson. But that was about it... Oh, maybe an 83-yard punt by Schaeuble...

Great rehash of the game BadgerWarhawk, you are right on the money.
Whitewater's 34-0 win over EC today was the Warhawks first shutout in 45 games.
The last shutout was a 42-0 victory over Oshkosh in the final game of the 2001 season.

I am a UW Stout Fan.  But I have to let some frustrations out from what I saw yesterday.  First off, very frustrated that they lost.  Secondly, when you have a team down 20-3 at halftime, you have to be able to put them away.  Nothing against Platteville, they have a decent offense, but come on, our defense sucked you know what on Saturday.  They couldn't stop **** in the second half and UWP ran the same offensive formation the whole damn game.  In the shotgun, 3 or 4 split out wide, and the running back next to the quarterback.  They either faked it to the RB and threw or handed it off.  How the hell can't you figure that out.  Ok, now for the offense.  Or should I say the offensive play calling.  You have a running back who had three consecutive 100+ yard games.  He gets 10 carries the whole game?????Then you have another running back who was an all american last year and he gets 7 carries?????How the hell are you suppose to establish a running game like that?  Then you have an all american wide receiver who catches 1 pass the entire game????  And trust me on this, it wasn't the result of a great Platteville defense.  May I ask why UW Stout did not pound the running game down Platteville's throat the second half of the game.  We supposely have some big beefy boys on the o-line so why is that so hard to do?????Why can't we get the ball in the playmakers hands when it counts?????I don't know the QB personally but I have seen enough to know that he is not a starting QB.  He had a few decent runs yesterday, but that's not his job.  He's got to learn to look around and find the right guys when they are open and not force stupid passes.  I am one of many pissed off fans after yesterday.  I feel so bad for the seniors on this team who have paid their dues and worked so hard and to lose a game like this, it really makes me sick.  UW Stout has the talent to have one of the best offenses in the WIAC for sure but some people need to open their damn eyes up and start calling a better game.

Are you aware you registered with a name already used by someone on the board? I'll change it for you.

Thank you, most people call me Robert anyways. ;D

BDB and raider guy, didn't see BDB's post before I went, and didn't see raider guy at the game. We got there just at kick off and left in the middle of 3rd quarter. Not much of a game to watch. We had to come home right after the game, so didn't have time to stop anyway. We usually stay the night when we go to Stout, Eau Claire, and River Falls, so nect time sounds like a plan.
If you can't ignore an insult, top it; if you can't top it, laugh it off; and if you can't laugh it off, it's probably deserved.

Thanks to Ryan Coleman for providing us with some sweet action photos from Saturday's blowout in Carson Park!

I am the UWP Superfan77. I received my SF tag from the local media, so I am not self proclaimed, but real!UWP won a game that stout should have won, Admit it, Stout fans you could not stop our 4 touchdowns in a row momentum. However, you played a good game against another quality team. This game is on Fox Sports North on Wed at 630PM central time this week. I invite fans all over the Country to watch the Pioneers exciting comeback. God Bless you, but turn down the swearing, it is only a football game.

Hey Janesvilleflash,

Sorry we didn't hook up.  I was properly attired but I must have "BLENDED" into the surroundings. I sat on the WW side west of the 50 yd around the 30 at the very top of the stands so there was a back rest. All that purple made me feel right at home.

Not such a hot game when you roll like that in the first quarter. Not saying I am not used to seeing the same thing when I get to see the Raiders. I did not see your post or BDB's until I got home or I would have made more of an effort to stand out in the crowd so to speak.

By the way were you sitting near that clown with the grey hair that decided it was his sole purpose in life to belittle the entire referee crew. You know a bad call is a bad call but ,

a) When he was wrong IE  the running into the kicker penalty and
b) His team is winning 34 ZIP .... to use his phrase "What game are you watching?"
Gives the rest of us fans a bad name.

OOPs since I don't know you I hope you don't have grey, windproof hair and dark sunglasses and a blue stadium seat, do you? His wife however had on a real classy T-shirt from last years Stagg, it had a Raiders helmet on it.

It was funny because I had a couple of high school coaches approach me and ask if I was scouting the game. I was just surprised they knew the school. So I ask them to send me the names of their best prospects. LOL!

Hey I don't think the Raiders have anyone on their roster from WI or MN anymore. No need hogging all the talent.

Look forward to meeting sometime in the future....
WELCOME TO THE MACHINE!

PLATTVILLE?

and another heartbreaker from the looks of the score. Have not read the game recap yet but I'll catch it shortly.

Take away any sharp objects from Todd! LOL.

As I said above I didn't catch PP before I left so I didn't think you would be around post game. As it turned out I hooked up with a large crowd of Buckeye fans in the Cities and we watched a thorough dismanteling of the Hawkeyes in YELLOWLAND. Those T-shirts will probably be good for washing the car.

How sweet it is.

Raiders and Buckeyes #1
WELCOME TO THE MACHINE!

BDB

raider, I tried calling you from the hockey rink but got your office.  :P

Anyway, not taking anything away from Platteville, but the Devils have done the same thing 4 games in a row. Get out to big leads and then let the other team back in it.

2 games they held on and 2 they lost. I don't get it.

Obviously not having the ability to finish a team off when they have them down for some reason.

BDB

Hey bluedevil robert. Welcome to the board but how about doing us both a favor and changing your name to something original?

badgerwarhawk, deja vu all over again?  ???
