I have to disagree with the UWO88s.  UWL holds a 44-6-8 advantage over UWO all time with the last win coming in 1972.  While the games tend to be a little bit closer when UWO hosts UWL, they can't seem to get over the hump.  I don't think this will be the year they break through because even if UWL loses to UWW I still think they will win out and may have a playoff at large bid on the line when they visit UWO.  However, anything is possible and UWO has a very solid team.  With that being said UWO shouldnt over look UWP because UWL did and it almost cost them.  UWP is pretty decent and they have two good wideouts and an experienced QB.  Moriaty (I think I spelled that wrong) should have a big day as the UWP frontline gave up 5 or so yards a crack against  UWL's backs.

If DOC wants to drop the subject quit writing. God Bless, good posting everyone especially you 1988 guys!

janesvilleflash

I know you 88 guys aren't 1988's, as you said you read this when you played, and that has to be in the late 90's or early 2000's. What years were you playing?

I agree UWO could come up big if they win out this year. Of course I've been thinking they were about to break out since 1998, and they seem to always come up short. The UWP game is huge for both teams.
If you can't ignore an insult, top it; if you can't top it, laugh it off; and if you can't laugh it off, it's probably deserved.

Welcome to the new posters.  It is great to have new blood especially from a variety of programs. I, too, have been impressed with what UWO and UWP have accomplished so far this season.  UWW has its work cut out for it the next 3 games  (LAX, UWP, MHB) and the rest of the season.  This is the WACKY WIAC and anyone can win on any given Saturday.   But the WARHAWKS maintained their poise during the firestorm of play-offs last season and it will serve them well through the rest of this year.  They have proven that they are winners and they believe in themselves and their program.

                                     GOOD LUCK TO THE WARHAWKS!!

+karma to the new guys!!

Just an observation about UWP. I have been surpised that they did not receive any votes last week in the D-3 top 25 others receiving category.  After handily beating Augustana and playing with LAX only to lose in the final minutes, I would have thought they would atleast be receiving some votes.  (Augie had 2.) Their only 2 losses have been to Drake and LAX.  I am not connected with UWP in any way, just an unbiased observation.  If they beat UWO tomorrow, they should start to get votes, I assume.

Mr. Downtown

You can tune into the Platteville/Oshkosh game here:

I'll be broadcasting, but I understand all of the attention going to Whitewater this weekend.

Here's a thought, anyone's home crowd going to take a hit, especially with students, because its Madison's homecoming too?

Just a thought

The game in Whitewater is just getting bigger and bigger all the time. You have two undefeated teams, which have a very heated rivalry. Playing at one of the nicest stadiums in all of division three. You have the equivalent of College Game day in d3football.com coming to the game, and you probably have one of the best wide receivers in the entire state of Wisconsin playing college football in Derek Stanley. Who has gotten attention from well over half the NFL, The season isn't even over and NFL scouts are interested in the kid, which at the division three level normally doesn't happen until after the season.
Also for anyone coming to the game who plans on using main street to get there. I would come earlier then normal as the homecoming parade is at ten here in Whitewater and all access on Main Street to the campus will be blocked off for the most part. I luckily live close enough that I can save the money that the softball team charges for people to pay and walk to the stadium. I would invite people to park in my parking lot. However on Saturdays the two truck guy just sits there looking for people who do not have permits. So that's a bad idea alright well there is just a little over 27 hours and 55 minutes until the biggest game of the year in the WIAC is played, and all I have to say is
WARHAWKS,WARHAWKS,WARHAWKS, BEAT LACROSSE

UWO - 88

UWO88, thanks for the "real UWO - 88" compliment.  ;) When did you play @ Oshkosh, under Cardo or Meyer?

Janesville Flash, you are correct, not a 1988 graduate, played at UWO in the late 90's, like you said.

Eagle0678, the UWL and UWO game is going to be a battle.  I just hope you're right.  The winner of that game, which just may be for 2nd place depending on what happens tomorrow, deserves an at large bid into the playoffs.  I think it would be a shame if the WIAC does not get 2 teams into the playoffs this year.  The conference deserves it.

Another first timer on post paterns and alum of UWW....had to register to get this message across.

In reponse to a couple of guys asking about a video feed (WSUFan and repete), you can watch the game live via the internet by going to www.uww.edu/athletics, clicking on the "WATCH THE WARHAWKS" link under "PENN atlantic" on the left hand side, and ordering and paying $7.95.

I watched the Azusa Pacific game live earlier this year on my laptop from my couch in Dallas.  Not the best picture, but it was free for that game and absolutely worth $8 to watch the UWW/UWL game.  Much better than listening to it via a radio feed on the internet.

This is a HUGE deal for us former players, alumni, fans who are out of state or who just cannot make it to the game this weekend.  Let me know if there are any problems....I just placed my order and it worked fine.

Can't wait until 1 pm tomorrow!  Go Hawks!

chmarx

Its going to be a great game.

Brian Carroll will be going, probably with a few friends.  Unfortunately, I have some stuff going on and can't go.  I will be listening on the radio.

Ditto about both UWP and UWO getting some love, as to rankings. The winner tomorrow should be in the top 25 or top 40, depending on the polls you look at. Also, I do not see how so many teams in The Iowa and Illinois conference get rated so highly. Who do they play besides each other. UWP cannot get a game against a team in the Iowa conference, now that Dubuque has cancelled the Battle of the Bridge after 2 years. Coe will scrimmage us but not play us in the regular season. By the way, we killed them in the preseason scrimmage. While these schools duck us, we get to play great teams like Augustana and Drake. We do not fluff our record like Stevens Point.  We cannot get a game against the overrated Loras, we whipped them by 45 in JV last year. We would pack the Rock bowl, they would get a lot of Money from our fans, and play a good Preseason game. Sorry for blowing off some steam! I hope the Perk is packed, I hope UWL wins. God Bless!

UWO88

To answer UWO-88's (AKA, ASH)  :)  question as to who I played for, the answer is both Cardo and Meyer.

Janesville Flash, I played from 99 through 03.

I dont think either UWO or UWL is concerned with their match up at the end of the season at this particular point in the year. As we all know, from either following the WIAC or playing in it, any team can pull the upset or play the spoiler on any given Saturday.

As far as the at large bid in the playoffs are concerned, we all know that this conference has proven year in and out that it deserves to have two teams in the playoffs. It's tough to watch the smaller state schools at year end continually find themselves in the playoffs, especially when they cant seem to win against a WIAC opponent.

UWPSUPERFAN77:

You shouldn't settle for a preseason game with Loras, you should really aim for a regular season game. Preseason games are what the rest of us call "scrimmages" -- they don't count.

By the way, that "weak Iowa Conference" has eliminated a WIAC team twice since the automatic bids came in. I wouldn't feel too smug.
