However you must take note that UWW is hanging their hat on one KO return for a TD as total yardage definitely favored UMHB.  Saw first half stats on the field and UMHB had 95 yds. to UWW's 78.  Final yardage was UMHB 204, UWW 120.

We knew we were going to see the best defense that we had seen all year and it turned out every bit as good as reported.  Nobody has controlled our offense like that in two years.  MHB is a heck of a good defensive team.  Good luck the rest of the season.

But we all know that when the dust settles there is only one stat that matters and that one favored the WARHAWKS.  If total yardage were the most important stat they wouldn't keep score, would they.   ;)

A great game today for WW and UMHB.  it sounds like a game no one should have to lose.  Kudos to footballfan413  as  your team found a way to win.  I have always believed, "Good teams find ways to win."

Congratulations to UWW on their win in Belton.  The game was a slugfest between 2 very good defenses.  #95 was dominating at DT from the first play of the game.  The UMHB line could not control him.  I hope these 2 teams get to play again in the playoffs.  Probably in the snow!  ;)

Badgerwarhawk,

You are absolutely right, the only stat that matters is the scoreboard. Two of the best defenses that I have ever seen in the same game. UWW made the plays when they needed to. UMHB was smothering. Even with good field position, the deepest penetration UWW managed was the UMHB 29. Just great "D" by both teams.

Congrats to the Warhawks. I wish you the best the rest of the season.

Hats of to UHMB, sounds like a game between the two best defenses in DIII football.  Would love to see the "purple crush" meet the "purple raiders" (in the playoffs before we have to).

Many of you have expressed your concern and best wishes to Voice (aka Tom) as he recovers from his recent stoke.  I'm happy to say that he is doing pretty well under the circumstances.

I thought you might like an update...http://www.warhawkfootball.com/newswire.asp

Tom, if you're able to get a day pass to attend next Saturday's game and you need transportation back and forth please don't hesitate to contact me.  I'd be more than happy to help you out.  I'll email my contact numbers using your Warhawkfootball. com email address.  Just let me know if that's the case.  We'd really like to see you there but remember your doctor knows best.

Any word on the extent of the injury to the UWW running back?  Our prayers our with him for a quick recovery.

Gray Fox

I only saw one small flaw with UWW yesterday.

Their road uniforms looked like they've been washed a few too many times.  I found it hard to read the numbers without squinting or without binoculars. Not impossible, but just difficult.

At least they aren't being wasteful of taxpayer's money. :D

Did I see those stats right...Stanley two catches or 12 yds.  How did UMHB manage that?

Bill McCabe

KennethK,  pressure on the QB and DBs that break to the ball real fast.

Thanks for the update, Badgerwarhawk.

I have a friend who had a stroke last week, too.  My best wishes are with both of them.

Good win for the hawks, better hope beaver gets healthy, ryan kleppe was just a wild man out there. As we arer nearing the end of the season id have to say that klepp should proly be the wiac mvp and up there for the Gagliardi, gotta give the dt's love. Beav is hurt and jake won it last year so it would be nice to see someone on the d get some hardware, also gotta belive that just over 15 hawks will get some kinda of conference recogonition in a few weeks.

I didn't see the game but the radio announcers mentioned him being double teamed a few times as well.

That was just a flat out good defense we were up against, KK.  As I said earlier nobody has done that to our offense in two years.

I have been following UMHB since they started playing football and I have never known them double team anyone. Not even Linfield's stable of stud recievers that they brought to the Stagg Bowl. The CRUsh "D" is athletic and fast, fast, fast.

Quote from the game report in the Killeen Daily Hearld:
"They were unbelievably quick," he [Coach Bob Berezowitz] said of the Cru defense. "We knew they were quick, but they were really quick out on that field."

Again, congrats to UWW. Finish strong and have a good run in the playoffs. I hope UMHB can do the same.

Mr. Downtown

For the UW-Eau Claire announcers:

Its Dieter Juedes (Yee-des).

Just thought that may be helpful.

Its a good week for Oshkosh. We didn't lose a game we should have won.  ::)

I'll be happy if we finish .500, which means a win in Eau Claire.

Oh well, its conference tourney time for Women's Soccer and Volleyball, something to cheer about.

Oh, by the way, very cool atmosphere in Whitewater for a Women's Volleyball game. Small place, packed in, and super loud, I liked it. Very cool place to win 31-29, 30-32, 31-29, 14-30 (outlier, I have no idea what happened), and 18-16  ;)   :D  ;D
