Heres a question for you purple freaks .... now i dont want no hate mail out of this ... i have the upmost respect for the whitewater program and coach berezowitz ... but in reading on the warhawk website about the bob day here on the 4th, it sparked my memory of rumors that were circulatin a few years back .. the rumors were of berezowitz being pushed out of the program after the 2001 season and that people felt he couldnt coach and connect with the new generation of players anymore ... i was just curious if anyone else remembers this and if there was any truth to it .... and if there was .. how interesting it is considering the strength and success of the program today and how someone "almost" dropped the ball

CaptainKurt

I was a player in the program at that time.  That doesn't sound familiar with me, so I'm not sure what to say about that Berezowitz-2001 rumor.

Doesn't really matter right now though, does it??

Various responses: Captain Kurt, you are the Man on Coach Bob in reference to Ralph E. Bulk 19: Thank you for the fine update on UWEC FB. They are so close but so far, it does look good for next year. Downtown guy:  What is the health of your QB and Moriarity?  WIAC Football: You are correct , UWL losing out is unlikely. But, I still bleed Orange and Blue in my playoff dream. Blessings to All!

man you guys are sensitive ... waaahhh .. dont criticize my program or even come near one negative word .. but for years i had to listen to you guys bash on pville ... it was just a question ..  i didnt say it mattered or not ... i just thought it was a good example on how admins always think that when coaches have a bad couple years that its time for a change ... and to bring in a new coach ... and how when there was rumors going around the WIAC that bobby got the program back on track .. plus i figured you wouldve loved the chance to talk about yourselves some more and i wanted an inside opinion ... thanks for your input though .. try doing it next time without the tears

QuoteAlso, thank you for publishing several articles on the Best 5-3 team in D3Football, my beloved Pioneers

Check that Superfan...after this week, the best team with 3 losses will be the linfield wildcats.  Oh yeah, one more thing....GO BLUE DEVILS!

downtown48

Don't worry superfan the best team with 3 losses record is safe for another couple of weeks...Linfield has a team that has won a total of.......0 games in  McMinnville...ever...in the history of mankind...coming to town!  In fact they could be coming to Wisconsin in the first round of the playoffs after they get caught in the Linfield Rat trap this weekend... ;D

BoBo-
Did you see the Whitewater/Blugold game? A demoralizing TKO in the first quarter, due in part to field position...

Not at all suggesting the Golds could have won, or even have anything close to the firepower that the Warhawks have on offense.... Hawks' impressive D did pitch a shutout, but, given the circumstances, the Blugolds D did OK, too...

The Hawks are worthy of their ranking, and were better than the team that beat the Blugolds last year...

That being said, Whitewater had TD drives of 11 yards, 39 and 32, and a field goal, after getting a fumble at the 12. That's 24 points, on a short field, all in the first quarter, on nine total plays, against a team that has done fairly well in stopping others in the red zone...

But you aren't going to stop Whitewater when it continually gets that great field position. The offense is too good, and they go for the jugular. The two 39- and 32-yard TDs were both pass plays, first plays right after punts. Receivers made great catches, Stanley especially, if my memory serves me correctly.

They did, however, have two nice drives, of 85 yards and 72, for a FG and TD...

I've already said on here I wonder how teams will defend the Warhawks, since they have so many weapons... If they can replace their two injured stud backs, like it has been suggested here by Hawks backers that they will be able to do, or Beaver can make it back, I expect them to win it all...

Hey 19, I just thought it was strange that you could say the 'golds played good defense in a 34-0 blowout, as you put it.  Stating it the way you did sounds like it came right out of defensive guru Dave Wandstadt's mouth. Whether I saw it (didn't) or listened to it (did), is irrelevant to your argument.

RE 2001 Brez rumors---I remember what you're talking about. The fact is, ONE WW fan was calling for Brez to be replaced, and calling very loudly. He was quickly shouted down by everyone else, and that was the end.
If you can't ignore an insult, top it; if you can't top it, laugh it off; and if you can't laugh it off, it's probably deserved.

Govenor Doyle has declared November 4th Bob Berezowitz Day

Maybe they can rename the field for him too...something like, Bob Berezowitz Field at Perkins Stadium.  Seems to be the "in" thing to do these days!!  He's certainly been there long enough, don't you think???

Okay then Ralph....in the midst of this 2006 season, in which the Warhawks are pushing for a playoff berth and a run at the Stagg Bowl, can you explain to all of us how the 2001-Brez rumor matters right now?  I simply stated that it doesn't matter right now, and you got your undies in a bundle because of this.

Hey, let's talk about Platteville and how many more games they could have won if they would have stuck with the Wing-T instead of going spread back when Emendorfer came into town.  I doubt anyone cares about this question, because it DOESN'T REALLY MATTER, DOES IT?

Goal Line Stand

"But you aren't going to stop Whitewater when it continually gets great field position."

Why is it that when a team continually scores TD's from good field position, the losing team talks as if it was all gifts to the winner?  Like 7 points from the 32 is not as good as 7 points from the 72.  A team starting consistantly from good field position is probably a result of great special teams, (kicking and returns,) great defense, (lot's of 3 and outs, interceptions and forced fumbles.)  Short fields are usually earned not given.  Of course, I am not referring to mistakes by the offense like a poorly thrown ball that anybody's gandma could pick off or a fumble resulting from a botched hand-off or snap.  But when an exception starts to happen consistantly, it usually becomes the rule.

Captain: Our offense means something to all UWP fans, just not the UWW Bandwagon chatline! Blessing to all !

Nice graphic on the bottom of the Linfield poster. Great Stuff! What is your teams mascot, or did you just make that up. I though your mascot would be a tree like Stanford, considering your reputation as a liberal college involved with the environment! God Bless you!
