Like everyone I expect a WW win on Saturday.

Unlike most I wouldn't be surprised to see a Blue Devil win either.

This squad has a ton of talent. They have been snake bitten all year.

The Devils could be 7-1 going in, instead they are 3-5.

LAX was the only team that just plain beat them.

I look for a great game in Whitewater. With all due respect, if Stout gets up in the second half, it's going to be a meat grinder for the Warhawks.

BDB...What is the difference between a Stout fan and a non-Stout fan???  You (the fan) say that if they hadn't been snake bit all year, Stout could be going into WW at 7-1, not 3-5.  Me (the non-fan) could say that instead of being 3-5 going in, Stout could easily be 0-8 going in.  I was reviewing Stout's season and those 3 W's could never be construed as convincing.  Look at it objectively, and tell me you don't see that?
With that being said, do I think they have a chance against WW???  Of course they do, but it has nothing to do with the ton of talent you say they have.  And I don't doubt what you say because you are much closer to the Stout program than I ever will be.  Plus, I don't necessarily agree with warhawkclownshow, either, for the same reason. However, it appears Stout has had bad luck all year, lousy play calling and whatever - a whole host of problems.  But, having a 4 game turnaround - that's not being snake bit, that's nearly 1/2 your season.  If some other guy was using that excuse, you too would probably wonder what they ate for lunch, am I wrong???  It sounds like they haven't been able to perform when they needed to against lesser competition.  Stout fans better pray for the right alignment of all the stars and moons in the heavens. WW has too much riding on this to lay an egg on Sat.

You guys are probably right. The Warhawks will probably dominate this Saturday.

I made no excuses for Stout being 3-5. But anyone that has really been to the games and seen how things have gone down would know that 3-5 is not indicative of this squad.

Stout may mail it in. The point I was trying to make was that if they get the lead in the second half somehow, I think they will be a handfull. That's all I said and that's all I meant.

Congrats to Coach Brez.

Stout always plays WW tough.  I expect nothing less tomorrow.  The Hawks have to stay focused and minimize their mistakes and penalties for 4 quarters.  Oh, and POUND THE ROCK!

Nice article in the Madison paper. But one question arises ...

Autographed helmets and a few old-school Berezowitz jerseys with his No. 12 will be auctioned off throughout the day, and the band will spell out his name at halftime while playing his favorite song - which has been kept top-secret all week.

Is the band going to spell out Berezowitz or just Bob? :)

Just Bill

No, they're going to spell Berezowitz.  Next week they've invited Mike Krzyzewski to the game, and they needed the practice.   ;)

It seems like the past two or three seasons I've heard posters on here complain about the play calling at Stout. With that said, are any of the coaches jobs in jeporady up in Menomonie?

I don't believe so CK. Some calls have been questionable though.

Like handing it off to a reciever for an end around with 1:30 to go against Oshkosh with the lead and a first down seals the game.

The guy fumbled, Oshy recovers on our 30 and scores with about 13 seconds to go to take the lead.

Been that kind of season.  :-\

This must be the first time Berezowitz and Krzyzewski appeared on the same post in the history of mankind!!!

WHAT??????

Hi I enjoy reading this board and I am not a fan of Stout or WW (Oshkosh) but I have a deep need to reply to this.  No disrespect intended but a 3-5 team can never honestly say they could be 7-1.  There are not any circumstances where you can make that claim logically.

I have watch both teams play twice and I think Stouts only hope is too hope not to get crushed.  I know there is a reason they still play the games and I honestly would like to see you do it....but please do not hold your breath.

Stout has always been a tough opponent for us and I seriously doubt they'll mail it in.  Obviously they aren't going anywhere in the post season and this is their chance to salvage something special out of their season.  I can't believe that they won't be highly motivated and hungry to prove they're a better team than their record suggests.  Anyone who thinks Stout doesn't have a lot of talent is mistaken.  They do and a opponent out to prove something can be very dangerous and can not be taken for granted.

On the other hand I know that our players are focused solely on beating Stout and with it being Coach B's last regularly scheduled home game they are also motivated as well.   We have a group of senior players who undoubtedly have been one of the most successfull classes we've ever put on the field.  Many have started multiple years and they want this one.  They've practiced well and we have a solid game plan.

I am concerned about the weather which is forecasted to include a rain/snow mix and the impact that could have on us.  However it will, obviously, also impact Stout.  I expect a tough game against a quality opponent and we all know what can happen in the WIAC.  Nobody is taking this one for granted.

Should be a good one.

OK, since my post continues to be misinterpreted let me clarify:

1. Stout has played 7 extremely close games and lost to LAX decisively.

2. They are a 3-5 team that could be 7-1.

3. They are a 3-5 team that could be 0-8.

4. They are a 3-5 team that due to poor second half performances has blown nice leads and found ways to lose.

5.Therefore, they deserve to be 3-5.

So, I said that if somehow they got a lead in the second half the game could be a meat grinder, meaning close to the end.

That's been the story this year for the Devils.

Obviously this game plan worked well for La Crosse, so I'm sure Stout will take your post into consideration and use it for 4 quarters on Saturday.  Good call.

Wow someone is a bit touchy about there Warhawks...  How many rings do the Warhawks have... Personaly I've got two framed in my house and the best thing is I never lost to UWW...   So Captin K. lets keep are enthusiasm in check becuse the road to Salem is lined with the wrecks of overconfident teams.

I played at the Dub and I can say I have no rings and never beat LX, but this team has and theyve played in Salem. And I dont think you have to worry about the Hawks being overconfident since they are rolling with 2 frosh rbs and an unprovin fullback...

Finally a UWW fan with some sense...  Personaly I hope that if UWL and UWW meet again in the playoffs it will be 1st a good game instead of the blow out, 2nd who ever wins takes it to Mount Union.   My hatred for Mount Union runs deep... Pesonaly that team has been getting over for years, they play in a weak conference and provide scholarships under the desqise of Academic assistance.

What do you think will be the outcome of the Platteville vs. Stevens Point game? I like to talk about upcoming games so lets hear what you got about your Pioneers.

Stout can just stack the box, bracket Stanley and jam the TE. they should be in good shape.  Just watch the second half of the UWO game.  Also I would recomend coaching up the MLB to eye the FB and when he flows opposite the line shoot the A gap, you'll should have a nice TFL.

LAX LB, when I read the post above, you just make it seem like beating the Warhawks is extremely easy.  Just stack the box, bracket Stanley, and jam the TE??  I'm sure a lot of teams have tried some form of this defense, without a "W" to show for it.  I'm not saying your an unintelligent person.  However, I don't think a lot of thought went into your above post.

Congratulations on your rings.  That's more than I can say for myself.

Warhawkexpress, think back to the Borgardt-to-Rice Hail Mary game.  We won that one.  None-the-less, the '92 season, the '94 season, and the 2002 WW-LAX game absolutely nothing right now.

I'm looking forward to WW finishing the season as healthy as they can, the same for the rest of the WIAC as well, and for a strong finish by LAX during the regular season and in the post-season as well (until they meet WW that is).
