Goal Line Stand

I heard that the NCAA will be giving the Warhawks a free pass to the Stagg Bowl this year.  That way, they won't have to waste their time with the remaining regular season game and playoff games.  And, since we all know that they'll be playing there anyways, it'll just be easier this way.

Also, the shrine for the Walnut and Bronze is nearing completion on the UWW campus.

I love it.   A Johnnie pointing the finger regarding arrogance.   ;D  (Just having alittle fun with you, Duffman.)

The players won't be taking the Falcons lightly.  Having wrapped up the automatic bid, this win is important for the seeding process and having an undefeated conference season.  It is not like they don't have anything on the line.

Falcon and BluDevil Bob......Don't get me wrong. Certainly the Warhawks can get upset in the playoffs but they will not lose to Stout or River Falls for two reasons....(1) They need to win for home field and more (2) Stout and River Falls are not very good even though Stout allegedly has 11 all-conference players. The playoffs will be tough just like last year but this year at least you guys are not in their class.....That is not bragging but simply a reality....

LAX LB

Since I'm not a big fan of individual awards I would recomend to that the WIAC give this years MVP to the Whitewater Offensive line, still producing a solid running attack after the lose of your All American RB and All Confrence FB is very impresive.  Far to offten in football  the significance of the OL and DL to a team is lost among the casual fan.  Ask Ron Dayne what it means to run behind a crew of Road Graders....

Anything can happen.  1994 UWL vs UWEC, Eau Claire is last in the leaque while UWL is 1st or 2nd and lost at home...

I think some of the posters from WW are getting a bit too full of themselves.

Fred - You've been out of the area too long.  You've terrible underestimated the typical WW poster.  A lot of them are full of themselves!  This thought may eventually win the "Understatement of the Week" Award. But I would consider that to be a badge of honor!!

The fact that WW does not have to win Saturday will work to RF's favor. It's not beyond possibility that RF could win Saturday like they did back in the mid-seventies on a bitterly cold day when WW came to town, with the title sewed up, to play a last place Falcon team. However, most of you posters were either "knee high to a grasshopper," then or not even born.

I wouldn't bet the ranch on it.  WW has a lot to play for.

This is the second time I agree totally with Lax.....I believe also the Warhawk offensive line is the MVP.....

Sak, obviously the Warhawks are the class of the WIAC. Only LAX had anything for them but even that game wasn't close.

The funny thing is how even if a fan of another team thinks their squad has a chance if breaks go their way they are treated like they are stupid.

Time will tell if the Warhawk program is a dynasty in the making or a couple good years. The WIAC has a way of keeping it pretty even most years.

Don't get me wrong.  This season is the most important season as the Warhawks push  for 10-0.  However, knowing that 4 of their starting 5 offensive linemen are coming back for 2007 means that Whitewater will have a very strong chance to win the WIAC in 2007.  Okay, I'm definitely getting ahead of myself.  But at least I can maybe convince Duffman that not only are we making room for one Bronze and Walnut, but two Bronze and Walnut trophies!!!!   ;D

Ralph, I'll be at the gas station tonight if you want me to top off your gas tank.

BDB,
You make a good point about your being unfairly jumped on for being optomistic about a teams chances against the Hawks.  I always consider you to be a very fair and classy poster.  But in all fairness, there was a poster or two over the last few weeks that did not post their opinions nearly as diplomatic as you do so there maybe enough places to point fingers regarding that.  I personally am not looking for a dynasty although I wouldn't mind it.  ;D  Programs like the MUC and SJU have set the bar very high when winning is put in those terms.  But the 2005 and 2006 Warhawks deserve recognition for what they have achieved even if it is gone next year.  We should all remember that any WIAC team having success on the national level can only be good for the entire conference in the long run.

If RF can stay somewhat close in the first half, they have a chance. Their coaching staff has a knack of pulling some tricks out of their hat when you least expect it.
My main concerns about WW are the RBs holding on to the ball, and hoping the MLB playing both ways doesn't hurt the D.
Regarding someone saying no conf. team has come close, I think UWO gave WW about all they could handle.
Game of the week-LAX\UWO. If LAX loses, would that mean only one WIAC team in the playoffs?
If you can't ignore an insult, top it; if you can't top it, laugh it off; and if you can't laugh it off, it's probably deserved.

The only thing I can say for certain this week is that the staff is preparing a game plan and the team for one thing, River Falls.  There is too much at stake to look past them and looking past the next opponent isn't one of this team's problems.

Nobody thinks that the River Falls staff or team is doing anything other than the exact same thing and preparing them for WHITEWATER.  River Falls also has something to play for, pride.  Winning would top off their season quite nicely.  We'll have to match their intensity or the afternoon could be a long one.

Obviously we'll be heavily favored but that doesn't mean we don't have to play the game.

I think if UWL would lose to UWO, it might still make the playoffs and get shipped out to another region. As to Coach B: If his position is not posted by a certain time, it can get filled by an interim coach. This could be a one year tryout for one of your present assistant coaches. God Bless You guys!

Thanks for the observtion and I totally agree. Lk believes every game is a marathon not a sprint and the team plays that way. I felt the most impressive part of the win was the final Raider drive after WW pulled within 7. Time consuming and finalized the win with another 14 point lead.

I am not opposed to a rematch at all but we both have a lot of work ahead yet.

But a trophy case is plenty premature.

Apparently that quote was directed at me since I was one of the other stout posters.  Sorry that I talked about the talent levels and awards of the blue devil team.

UWW OL should certainly be the POY, but they will not be unfrotunately.  Jacobs will be it.

UWL losing to Oshkosh would give the WIAC with one bid in the playoffs.  There are too many other teams with one loss and a full slate of games that would get it over UWL.
