Being a little judgmental on the SF.

Isn't your naming flash judgmental in itself a judgmental act?  Hmmm?

Well said, the Flash is generally very kind to the SF. I appologize. Blessings!

As I have said in a previous post in response to the "disaster" of St John's losing to Bethel. They are right where they would have been had they been undefeated at this point, playing UWW at Whitewater.

Olinemom - Do the Warhawks crow differently than we Johnnies. Sorry to offend.
No, sorry I've been away this week.  A brick wall jumped up and bit my face.  ER--Cat scans yada yada yada, but I'm still living.  I just know the kids on WW as I saw them play last year and helped to host their fans at the Stagg Bowl.  I'm a part of Stone Station and we host the fans of both teams at the Stagg Bowl.  The only person with whom I have corresponded from your school is Coach Gagliardi who is a GREAT MAN.  I congratulated him on your marvelous win in the Stagg Bowl against Mount Union.  I was unable to attend that year, more than likely some health issue.  When you're older than dirt . . . (MUC had just beaten my guys 66-0 the week before and didn't seem to have anything left for the Johnnies)  You know, in every game, you need to pick a team.  I have a WW hoodie I wear for good luck for the guys I met last year.  I really love DIII football. I even wanted the Whitworth-SJU game on Fox Sports Pacific.  I called for it on the NWC board, didn't you see that?  I will be watching the game tomorrow.  I want my team to win, but I want both teams to do well and for no one to get hurt.  Should SJU win, I will have to see who wins at Dover, before I know who to cheer for the next week.  I know the UMHB people also as they were at the STAGG the year before.  And I know Wesley because they beat the crap out of my team last year.  So if Wesley wins in Dover, you can be ABSOLUTELY POSITIVELY SURE I'll be cheering for you all playing against Wesley.   ;D  That's as fair as I can explain myself.    I'm an Olinemom, I make brownies, which I have sent all over the country the last few years, and will have many many of them at Salem for the 2 teams who make it to the BIG GAME and for the fans who come to support them.  And I have enjoyed reading your posts. Retagent.  Touchdown Tommy, c'est tout autre chose.  (Oh yes, I'm a French professor, too)

You're going to hold our offense to 10 points?  Good luck with that!!!

I can't say I'm real optimistic about a Johnnie victory, but I do remember several posts like this in 2000 and 2003, except from Mount Union fans. In fact, if I look at my well-worn copy of The Sweet Season (a great history book for those of us stuck in the past), there's a part that reads, "When a St. John's supporter came in and suggested that the Johnny defense might hold Mount Union under twenty points, he was mocked. 'Twenty points,' riposted one poster. 'You're not going to hold us under 30!'

Of course they were held to 10 that game. And in 03, a week after Mount put up, what, 66 against some poor schlubs, the Johnnies held them to 6. And in '93, SJU held them to 56 ;)

Poor schlubs?  Poor schlubs??  They spent their fury on my guys because of the 2001 title game and had nothing left for you all the next week.

You need to have a real strong internet connection to get the UWW video stream, just a heads-up. I was unable to watch it at home last week -- way too choppy -- despite having twice the recommended available bandwidth.

I got it really nice and clear last week.  You all are making me nervous about getting it tomorrow.  I was counting on watching it as I couldn't go to watch UMHB due to my stupid encounter with a brick wall.  And yes, I guess I will check the scoreboard though it is so much more interesting to check the boards, where people are interacting and discussing the games as they are happening. ;D ;D

This is an important game, guys.  I know you can get the job done.  OLIne the glamour boys depend on you to open the holes and block for them.  Do it well today and you'll keep our Defense rested and ready to go.  Remember, you are the best Oline.  Show them why, every chance you get!!  Justin, run like the devil is behind you. J. Jacobs, remember all your options--Derek Stanley, Justin Beaver, Pete Schmitt, Nick Mrkvicka (you looked great on that touchdown last week!!!), mix it up and keep the Johnnies on their toes!!   Defense, when you are in there, pressure is the name of the game.  Block all the holes  AJ, lead the lbs and dbs to cut off any passing game.  Ryan, do what you do best:  Pressure and tackles for lost yardage.
Wish I could be there, but I'll be cheering from Va. in my WW hoodie and watching the webcast.  At least this way I'll get to see some snow. ;D ;D ;D

GO WARHAWKS!!  KICK BUTT!!

When I watched the game last week via the internet, there was only about a 5 minute where it was choppy.  After that I never had a problem.  I've seen 4 games over the past two years over the internet on three different computers and have never felt it was bad enough to turn off.  Since it's free, it's worth a shot for everyone to give it a try.  If that doesn't work......back to the radio!

Should be a great game!

Olinemom -  Hope all is well with you, and your health situation is improving. I know about you, and your brownies, from all my reading on here the last two years. Just thought I'd give a nice gentle jab. Good response. Since I lived in NOVA (Loudoun County) for eleven years through 2005, I have a real affection for that area. Put some good thoughts in for Jeremy Trimble today, as Army tries to defeat Navy. My younger son played B-Ball against him in middle school.

I'm still mad at myself because I didn't make the 4 hour trip to Salem in 2003 because the weather was less than ideal, and I didn't give the Johnnies much of a chance. Shows how much I know. I will not make that mistake today. Go Johnnies!

Olinemom... Sorry to hear about your accident, your not going to win too many battles vs brick walls.  Get well soon.

Ironically, the Johnnies offense will have a similar experience today.  Going to be running into that brick wall of a defense that we have.

Just heading over to Perkins Stadium.  What a great day for football.  A balmy 21 degrees right now.

Even with the weather conditions.... I'm still sticking to my original prediction of 21 points by half for WW.

Half:  WW 21  SJU 3
Final  WW 31  SJU 17

Arrived at the Perk.  Must say i'm disappointed in the tailgating crew.  Main parking lot seems only about half full.  Maybe a late arriving crowd, but for now it looks a lot less than what was expected.
