I don't understand why language that is deemed inappropriate for televison, radio, newspaper, etc. is appropriate for a football game.  And if you do think it is appropriate or your right or whatever, why all of the asteriks and censoring in your posts here on this board?  Is it not appropriate to actually type the whole word?

Oh, and by the way, I hope that UWW takes care of business this year and brings the National Championship back to the west.

Okay I am of to get my 2 for 1 tickets and I am paying good hard money for these tickets, and if I want to swear well I think thats my first amendment right in the constitution.

Next time you see a police officer, go up to him give him the finger and tell him to f*ck off.

You'll see quickly how you misinterpret your first amendment rights.

Barber Greene,
If it is so embaressing why hasn't anyone stopped it in Madison or Whitewater. I am not a betting man. However I would put money on it that the students will once again be doing there chants and no one is going to get kicked out of the student section.
It just won't happen, because they want the students to be there as it was not too long ago that the students never showed up.
If it is that embaressign to coach Brez Chancellor Saunders,The AD Plinske, then why don't they send out a mass email tot he students asking them to not do it. Oh wait chancellor WIley tried that at Wisconsin and what happen, they just chanted there things louder.
Also Duffman, The Hawks awill be on top of the WIAC for a while we have Beaver for another year and we will reload not rebuild. The Warhawks are here to stay.

Make sure to take a logic class before graduating from UWW...."it is what it is" does not justify the behavior and "why hasn't anyone stopped it" does not mean that it is not embarassing

And, yes, there are far worse things that could be going on but that does not mean that the chants are anything to be proud of or tolerated

I was a student at the Dub not to long ago, and played and I can tell you that the fan support  has helped and it is fun playin infront of students that actually come to the game and care about the outcome, but I would have to agree with the johnnies on this one, if I had a kid and even watchin the game on TV with my 4 year old niece, I had to turn the volume down because of the language.  If you want to be known as a student section that can only use foul language to get your point across then so be it but think about how it effects other people.  Im not saying dont have fun but try bringing some class to the PERK.

I would say in the top 3, which is not the middle.  In both 03 and 04 if we beat LX last game we are in the playoffs.

It makes me feel a little warm and fuzzy that UWW will be back in the midle of the WIAC in the not too distant future :P

4 of 5 offensive linemen are returning next year, along with Beaver, Gifford, Raebel, Borzick, and a whole bunch of starters from this year.  You worry about your Johnnies for next year.  Anyways, next year is a different conversation.  Those of us in the Warhawk Nation are still standing strong in 2006.

I wouldn't compare the margin of victory from previous games as an indicator of future games to be played.  How do you figure the MUC would "trash" UWW after a coming off a 17-14 victory.  Your arguments contradicts itself.  I see another tight game this weekend, with the Warhawks coming out on top for another trip to the Stagg.

And again, I like how my karma gets tanked for telling dudes to get off of the behavior thing and just get after football conversation.  That's weak.  I don't support what the students did.   Voice, good to see your back from MIA.

With that said, here's a topic for debate.  Who would you rather having playing on the d-line for your team: Ryan Kleppe or Bryan Robinson?

With having only seen Kleepe play last week, I don't have to see Robinson play.  Enough said.

I have to agree with Duff. Two years of representing the West in the playoffs doesnt guarantee any future success, and I dont see any point in talking about us(uww) reloading for next year already when we dont even have a quarterback with any decent amount of experience ready to take the healms next season.

Also, its really sad to see how this board went from the intelligent, useful posts to the stupid, borderline pointless stuff that is said now.

I've seen them both, and it is not cut and dried. Though I would love to see the line that has Kleppe at tackle and Robinson at end. :)

I don't think I've ever laughed as hard as I did when I read that Whitewater is the "Harvard of the Midwest".  I wish they'd bring back those old College Quiz Bowl shows so we could see that challenge played out.

I'm not a Whitewater student or a Whitewater fan.  So my argument is biased for the students of that school or the adults that attend the games and support.  But someone said that it is embarressing at the Badger games when they chant the stuff they do.  When I go to Badger games all the adults that sit around me enjoy it.  I hear them talk about what a great atmosphere the students bring to the game.  At one of the games I went to this year 2 old guys in their 70's Im guessing were going back and forth during the Eat Sh*t!!! F*ck You!!! and saying to each other as if each one was in the student section.  I thought it was the funniest thing ever.  I was also near a father who had his 2 sons with him.  Probably not older than 10.  I heard him say something about his kids will hear it someday, why not hear it with their father at a football game.  So he didnt seem to mind.  So is it real a big deal that they yell it. NO!!! I guarantee those same people that complain about it watch a lot of movies with swearing in it.

I ventured out in the cold from my north region home to catch some west region football at perkins stadium. Great facility. my first time there. a div 1 type environment.

TC, you sound like a sore loser............... 8)

Not really, no.  Before the season started, I picked MUC and UWW to be back in the Stagg Bowl.  Before the playoffs started, I pretty much threw SJU under the bus and picked UWW to win the Championship.  Before the quarterfinals I had UWW and MUC as #1 and #1a in the standings and I had SJU, St. John Fisher and Rowan as a definite step below the rest of the playoff teams left.

My long winded points is this: I expected a UWW win (and possible blowout judging by the last time the teams met).  I still made the trip out there, supported my team, enjoyed the game, came home and commended your team.  I don't think pointing out the less than spectacular crowd (without even pointing out how many of those fans were wearing red) makes me a sore loser, but whatever.

---

I don't think I've mentioned the coarse language on the WIAC board (I know I mentioned it in passing on the MIAC board) and I really don't want to make a big deal out of it here.  But I agree totally with what Pat said: just because students haven't shown up in the past doesn't give them the right to say whatever they want now that they're finally on the bandwagon.

---

I haven't seen Bryan Robinson play.  I thought Damien Dumonceaux (SJU '06) was about the most dominant D-lineman I had seen at this level.  I think current SJU Soph. Nick Gunderson has a chance to be unbelievable.  Ryan Kleppe is on a whole different level.  Usually a player with his, um... "generous dimensions" isn't as quick as Kleppe.  He had the speed to match and the strength to overpower the small, agile SJU O-line.  Assuming both teams get there, I'm excited to see what he can do against Mt. Union.

---

Beaver didn't seem to be the gamebreaker I remembered and expected.  Don't get me wrong, he was a still a good/great back, but is he still feeling some of the effects of his injury?  Obviously it looks like he might have been the difference against both UW-LaX and SJU so you can't fault the coaching staff for bringing him back when they did, but was there any talk that he was brought back too soon?  Brought back a week late (i.e., maybe could have used a "tuneup" week against St. Norbert)?

Usually Post Patterns before a big game is an interesting and amusing place to visit but currently it has turned into an irritating site filled with whining and redundancy. I refuse to comment on the obscenity issue because I have already stated my position and that subject has been beaten to death. I guess part of the reason is there are no Wesley supporters commenting but this is no surprise because there was not even 50 Wolverine supporters at last years's game and the other reason seems to be that the St.John's supporters just won't go away....the large amount of respect I had for them is beginning to diminish. Kleppe or Robinson? Of course, I pick Kleppe but I have only seen Robinson play once and there was the shoe issue.....I have never seen Kleppe handled one on one even when he played with one arm.....Whether we can do that Saturday on Robinson we will see.....I believe our OLine can take care of him even with the proper shoes this year which I assume they will have......

We don't "just go away".  And we do enjoy talking football.  Now that UWW will be representing the West, the Warhawks are our team now as well, since we're jumping on the bandwagon (as such bandwagon jumpers, we will question the obscenity issue-- but that's already been hashed out-- and defended-- to death).

So here's a football question: what was the Xs and Os reason for SJU making those third-and-long conversions?  Were they great plays by the SJU receivers or mistakes in the UWW secondary?  If the former, can Wesley duplicate those plays, and if the latter, can UWW fix those mistakes by positioning?

(And please, don't give the standard "Brez is a good coach-- he'll be sure to fix it" line.  Yes, Brez is a good coach, and yes, he will intend to fix it, so we all already know that.  But I'm trying to get at whether this was an anomaly for Whitewater or if the Warhawks played rope-a-dope on third down all year).
