That's not the point. Trashing a team and it's coaches on heresay was my point.

The cannon shouldn't be a bother but this is THE NCAA we are talking about. And maybe the cannon will be needed after the game to put some Warhawks fan out of their misery!!! :D

Be careful, Wesley fan, there is a hint of hypocrisy in your thoughts.  :)

PA, my apologies for all the Warhawk crazies, this has gone too far and, in my opinion, it's stupid all around.

Sure, the canon is a nice touch, but do we as WW fans (who have been used to the canon for so many years now) really notice it? Not really - only when the announcer draws attention to it and thanks Mike the Canon Guy. Are we now not going to score because we don't have a canon? No. Is the only reason Wesley wants to keep UWW out of the endzone is so they don't have to listen to the canon? No. I can pretty much guarantee fans may notice there isn't a canon, but won't give a hoot whether or not it's there.

I can't believe a Post Pattern discussion has come down to a canon and a guy who wears a Civil War suit from the 19th Century.

Let's get this game on already, good luck to both sides, should be a good one!

Actually Pat we agree on many things but this issue is not one of them. Our student body is a very tame version of UW student section and as I have said I do not support the vulgarity......but this move by Wesley is totally classless and my opinion will not change. As for our program over the last 5 years the only complaining I have ever been aware of came last week. As for calling their program Pussies I stand firmly behind that .......because simply having the cannon removed is a cowardly act.......

A reminder about shouting in all-caps, those posts will be removed.

Also, for a program that has had its fans painted with a broad brush the past couple of weeks, I'm disappointed that a Whitewater parent is willing to paint Wesley fans with something they had no hand in. That's really just wrong.

You Warhawk fans are a funny bunch!   :-[

While you are developing your post I just wanted to just say that "You Warhawk fans" is generalizing.

I generalize because Perkins Stadium is the only place I've been pelted with a cannon and "the f-en heimer"!   ;D

Yeah, if you're referring to the Beav!  8)

Haha, The Beav. Yeah, the cannon was used throughout the year, including the playoffs, last year. I think the cannon has been there for the past.....ehhh I think it's 12 years? Maybe even longer, I forgot, but they say it at every home game (see, it's not even that important).

frank uible

If it's not important, then it should be no problem to give it up for the sake of harmony.

No complaints coming this way. As I said before, it's just an added bonus to have it, so if it's taken away, no biggy. Other UW-W fans may feel different or have a different angle. My angle? It's a frickin' cannon.

retagent

I tried to keep it clean by not saying breasticle area, OOps! I said it now, not to intimate that Kleppe has Phil Mickelson type man breasts or anything like that,. I guess I'm just getting myself in deeper and better shut my pie hole or Ryan will kick my A$$ if he sees me tomorrow if I go to the game. Oh Gee now I gave him some ideas......................

I know in the WIAC the host school's AD has a final say on using pep bands and noisemakers at hoops games, and indoor events... I imagine that holds over to football, too...

In the case of UWEC, I believe they either posted, or made announcements prior to the game, that noisemakers are banned from football games at Carson Park... Maybe both types of warnings were used? I just can't remember if I read it, heard it, or both, but I know they were not allowed.

Of course, that is to prevent the bands/noisemakers from disrupting action on the field, when the ball is in play... I took that to be things like airhorns and cowbells, though... But I really don't see how a cannon fits into this, since play is stopped when it goes off.

My take is that head games are being played here... Perhaps Whitewater students, who were blasted for profanities last week, are being baited into being more rowdy, and noisy, tomorrow, so thereby maybe drawing an unsportsmanship conduct penalty? Who knows???  Just a wild guess...

Safe travels to and from Wisconsin to the Wesley team and supporters, and good luck to the Warhawks tomorrow...

Is the game being broadcast on pennatlantic again?  I checked their page and it didn't show the UWW Wesley game on the page.  Does anyone know for sure or have a link to where the game will be on the internet?

Those poor Wesley players probably still have ringing in their ears from hearing that cannon so many times in last year's game. Oh well, I guess that complaint shows how much confidence they have in their defense. GO WARHAWKS

I'd like to know if anyone has proof that wesley made such a complaint, I personally don't think they care because at our games sometimes they have this ridiculously loud siren that they sound its annoying so I really don't think they have a problem with it.  Nice try in trying to discredit the team but its time to put up or shut up no excuses.
Look #28 got your ball, GO WESLEY!!!
