Just want to offer my best wishes to the Warhawks for the Stagg Bowl on Saturday.  I think this is your year.  I still find it hard to believe how well you played to beat Linfield last year.  What a game that was.  You've been to this dance before with many of the same players and I believe you can win it all on Saturday.  Go warhawks.

Can anyone give a confirmation on the "rumor" that Pierre Garcon broke his hand during last week's game versus St. John Fischer?  It's not that I like it when someone gets hurt and can't play.  I do not subscribe to the theory "If you aren't cheating, then you aren't trying hard enough" theory, but if he can't play, I'll take that all day.

If anyone has some details on that, please speak up.

Travel list came out today--Garcon is on the first team roster--He will be playing.

Sorry! ;D

Best college game I ever attended and I would say that if Linfield won. Of all the places we have been the last 5 years that was the place where we were treated the nicest. Two high school coaches from Oregon sat in front of us and were huge Linfield fans but when they lost they were the first guys out on the field offering congrats to my son and other players. Great field and Great people......

Oh--I can also confirm that Garcon did not break his hand this week against SJF.

He did not.

He broke his hand the week before vs. Capital. He attempted to play last week, was on the field much less than half the time, had a couple balls thrown to him, caught one and dropped one. A third was thrown just out of his reach well downfield and I expect he would have caught that, too, if healthy, but can't really consider it a drop.

A better question would have been did he break his hand anytime over the past few weeks.

My following question would have then been "Will we see Derek Stanlye play any cornerback this Saturday?"  I guess we'll have to wait and see.

See you all in Salem.

If you are referring to the long pass in the first quarter, I don't think his hand caused him to miss that one.  It was about 2 yards too far inside of him (I was watching from the endzone, right in front of me) and maybe a bit overthrown.  Maybe if his hand wasn't broken he could have dove...

What time are UWW fans looking to roll in to tailgate on saturday?
Also, where are some good spots in Salem to kill time?

Yep, that's what I was thinking. He could have caught it with full effort but not if he wasn't willing/able to lay out.

I believe it was closer on the replays than you make it sound.

I had the Head On view, so couldn't tell how close it was vertically, just looked from my vantage point (15-20 yards away) that the pass was a bit inside, or Garcon took his pattern a bit too vertical.

Best of luck this weekend, UWW -- you've had an amazing season. Now, bring the Walnut and Bronze home to the West -- where it belongs!
