The Gagliardi Trophy honors excellence in athletics, academics and community service.

johnniepress, did you get the email I sent you?

Captain Kurt, I think the SID at SJU has the right and perhaps the obligation to point that out.

This is a highly subjective award.  It is NOT for the best football player.  IMHO, you diminish Kleppe's accomplishment of being a finalist for this award by complaining about him not winning it.

Let's talk this week's Stagg Bowl.  I'll get it started:

MOUNT UNION IS GOING TO KMIC SOME BUTT THIS WEEKEND!!!
Now will somebody PLEASE talk about this year's game? ;D
Reloading--Again, and again, and again....

ROR- according to Pat C. the rules are it's a football award, and the grades and community service are to be used for tie-breakers only.
If you can't ignore an insult, top it; if you can't top it, laugh it off; and if you can't laugh it off, it's probably deserved.

Retiredoldrat.....Kleppe's accomplishments will not be diminished by anyone. As for community service, grade point, and being a stand up guy he is right with the man from Alma from what I read. As football players and who they play for there is no comparison between Alma guy and Kleppe so I assume it came down to one was a quarterback and one was a defensive tackle.......I am certain all are excellent choices they just blew their chance to pick the best of the four......Am I predjudice---You Bet but I am also right.....Enough said on this subject for me see you all at the bar in the Marriott in Roanoke and POUND THE ROCK!!!!.....

How about Kmic trying to break Beaver's rushing record.  Kind of ironic that he happens to be trying to do it against WW.

You wanted to talk about the game.... that's a pretty good storyline.

uww0212: About 1998 Albion, a MIAA team, won the Stagg Bowl.

You're kind of missing the point.... or I guess I could have worded it differently.  Refer to the right side of the front page, bout halfway down.

Kind of a what have you done for me lately thing.... a lot has changed since 1994.

Sakman - and all Warhawk fans, how 'bout looking at it from this view? I'm sure the D3football trivia buffs out there will (quickly) correct me if I'm wrong, but Whitewater might be the only Stagg Bowl finalist playing with two, not just one, but two, Gagliardi Trophy finalist on their roster - Kleppe and Beaver last year.  Just a thought.  Maybe that is something you all can hang your hat on?

I have a slight problem that you fellow football fans might be able to help with....  I a Mount Union supporter and my hotel reserver accidentally booked our reservations at the "Airport" and at the Holiday Inn Tanglewood instead of the Holiday Inn Roanoke.   :(     I am looking for anyone that might have reservations at the Roanoke that hasn't cancelled them yet that would like to trade reservations.   As a Mount fan I obviously would not want to stay at Tanglewood.  Though I don't mind staying at the Airport...  But I know from last year there were some Whitewater fans that stayed at the Mount Hotel(Wyndham)  so maybe there is someone out there who did it again and would want to exchange reservations...  Just a thought ....   Thanks for the possibility..... If not thought, we will be cancelling our reservations at the Tanglewood or...  I don't know maybe someone would want them anyways...???  ??? Don't know how that would work, just trying to stay with our team.....    Thanks anyways and good luck to both teams!  I'll check back in a little while to see if there are any takers....  Thanks again.

Post season individual awards are great but talk to any one who has them and they would trade them for an opportunity to play in the Stagg in a heartbeat.  We have had a number of great players earn post season rewards over the years that would do anything to play in this weekends game.  Lets focus on the real award.  A TEAM REWARD. A NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP!

It's the purple and black flurry.

Otherwise, I have it completely wrong.  :D

Duff - Huh? No, it's obviously because they have a team going for the glory in a few days, as you put it, and you're sitting where you are pretending to work at your easy jobs, as you put it.

They're "thinking about the game".  (I could NEVER understand what coaches meant that yelled that at me.  Maybe that's why I was mediocre at best?)   ;D
