Warhawks flying out about 6:00 after practice in Madison again. I am beginning to get excited .....weather looks like it could be great 60s and sunny. First wave of the Goo Crew should be in place at the Roanoke Marriott bar by 5:00P.M others coming later due to high school coaching obligations. This could be a better time than last year and with the late start time there will be some real juiced fans.....Horn guy bring your horn Butch will have his.....POUND THE ROCK!!!!!.......

PurpleSuit,

That's pretty good but that has nothing on the Video that I just saw the Stout Blue Devils put out.

Well gee....let's review.  Mount won in 2000...and 01.....and 02.....lost in 03......lost in semi's 04......WON in 05...back in O6.  On the way out?  YAH.....I can see now why THAT makes sense.

JE - the big difference between  this team and the 00/03 teams is DEFENSE.  Neither one of those two teams had near the speed and defense that this team has.  As they say......"defense wins championships".

Can WW win......definitely.   Can they win 35-10......NO.

I personally agree with the first part of your last sentence.  In 2000 nobody was supposed to even come close to keeping up with the Raiders; in 2003 there was talk about that being one of MUC's best ever defenses (outweighing the Jays o-line on the d-line, yada-yada...).  Hindsight being 20/20, that may not be the case anymore; but the point is the same with your last sentence.   I too am hoping for a good game, as these two Giants should have a good 'ol slugfest to determine the walnut and bronze.

I think what it comes down to is that the team who scores more points is going to win on Saturday.

You just can't loose with a prediction like that. :D
12-0 = 13

42-7 over the last four years it has simply been awesome. What could be better----I guess the easy answer is 43-7....POUND THE ROCK!!!!!.....

Retiredoldrat.....Kleppe's accomplishments will not be diminished by anyone. As for community service, grade point, and being a stand up guy he is right with the man from Alma from what I read. As football players and who they play for there is no comparison between Alma guy and Kleppe so I assume it came down to one was a quarterback and one was a defensive tackle.......I am certain all are excellent choices they just blew their chance to pick the best of the four......Am I predjudice---You Bet but I am also right.....Enough said on this subject for me see you all at the bar in the Marriott in Roanoke and POUND THE ROCK!!!!.....

Sakman - and all Warhawk fans, how 'bout looking at it from this view? I'm sure the D3football trivia buffs out there will (quickly) correct me if I'm wrong, but Whitewater might be the only Stagg Bowl finalist playing with two, not just one, but two, Gagliardi Trophy finalist on their roster - Kleppe and Beaver last year.  Just a thought.  Maybe that is something you all can hang your hat on?

I believe Mount's Chuck Moore and Dan Pugh shared the same backfield a few year's back and not only were both Gagliardi Finalists but both actually won the award.

QuoteTheir 2nd game against Capital, a 17-14 victory in the 3rd round, showed that the Purple Raiders don't win every game by 30+ or 40+.  They can be kept in check, as Capital showed us, and in my opinion, they can be beaten.

You forgot to mention that Capital is the second best team in the country.

Very true!  2001 had Pugh blocking for Moore...what a combo!

A tradition unrivaled...

What if Whitewater wins on Saturday....would this mean that La Crosse is the 2nd best team in the country?  According to your implied logic, that would hold true.
