42-7 over the last four years it has simply been awesome. What could be better----I guess the easy answer is 43-7....POUND THE ROCK!!!!!.....
Here is something that is a bit better than 42-7 and it is 53-3 (MUC over the same time)  In fact over the past 11 years I think MUC has lost a total of four games with a record of something like 150-4  I think that is better.   :o :o

At 4:00 pm Saturday, both teams will be 0-0.

Last year I thought the Hawks would win but they weren't able to pull it off.  But let's review just how close that game really was.  UWW's loss could really be chalked up to 2 plays.  One big defensive breakdown and Kmic runs for a 95 yard TD.  Won't happen again with this years improved D.  Beaver scores from the 1 or 5 or whatever yard line, (don't exactly remember) a few plays before and it is a National Championship for UWW, 35-28.  Just think that having been there last year and the, "Revenge Factor," finally being in our favor for the first time in the play-offs, MUC needs to be alittle uncomfortable.  If the Hawks play well and D shuts down the run, the Hawks will prevail.  DEFENSE DOES WIN CHAMPIONSHIPS and ours have been the difference makers in alot of our game this year and they can do it again.  That and the O-line giving Jake time and Beaver/Pitz room!
You do  realize that last year UWW scored twice against a prevent defense at the end of the game that would not have been on the field if the game had been contested at that point.  In fact I think the last touchdown was scored with just a couple of seconds on the clock.

I guess you are implying that the last 2 TD's were in garbage time but the play-by-play disputes that as I have posted before.  Both Kmic, Garcon and Jorris were in the game with 2:50 seconds left and in the Hawks final 2 TD drives, I count no less than 9 MUC defensive starters making plays and tackles.  And since when does a TD scored with a few seconds on the clock not count as much?

This late td still counts six points but do you really think that if MUC was up  only 7 (instead of 14) that they would have played it the same way.  I  never said they took out the starters but they played a PREVENT defense.  That prevented a long quick scoring play but essentially allowed a lot of quick plays to all gain positive yardage and move down the field unlike any other series that UWW saw all day.  I think the only one here that needs to have this explained to is you because everyone else understands what happened.

I think the coach has more to do with it than anything else.

QuoteWhat if Whitewater wins on Saturday....would this mean that La Crosse is the 2nd best team in the country?  According to your implied logic, that would hold true.

Miracles happen, I suppose.  I've seen plenty of Mount Union, this team rivals the 1997 squad in talent.  This may be the best Mount Union team yet even though they aren't winning every game by thirty.  As was the case with John Carroll in 2002, the second best team in the country happens to come from Mount's conference.  With the way Kmic has been running the ball, what happens to WW's "improved" defense if LK decides to put the ball in the air?

Hey fbfan413, it's going to be a purple, black and white McFlurry at the Stagg.  ;)

I predict a dramatic ending, hopefully without controversy.

Congrats warhawks on another great season!  Best of luck in this saturday's game, represent the West well...and beat the Raiders!

Sakman 1111

Last post until after the game.....still believe like I have all year if we play well and get a few breaks like Duffman said we can beat anyone in D3. Don't agree with him that the Purple Raiders also have to play bad for us to win......we are good enough to beat them even if they play well but that is why they play the game. Warhawks have settled into their hotel in Roanoke and the Goo Crew is off early tomorrow. Time to pack all our Purple.....GO WARHAWKS!!!!!POUND THE ROCK!!!!!!...... See you at the bar at the Marriott  Courtyard......
