Warhawk 96

Hold on there 96er. I believe the question was how you keep your talent in state? No complaining going on. Calm down just a little.

Sorry, as you can see that subject is a little touchy to me. I can't speak for everyone just for myself when i say this: When it came time to look at colleges I was recruited by a few schools. Of the ones that I got into this school was the only one that I could afford. I filled out my fasfa and even after that Whitewater simply was more cost effective. Their facilities were also better than the other private schools that cost so much. I mean, it was either pay around 28k a year for four years at programs where the other sports weren't very strong (big key there) or pay 10k a year for five years at a place with better facilities, better other sports to attend, and its just far enough from home where I will be away but not far enough where I can't go back on a moment's notice. A lot of people also forget the fact that UWW is within a half hour of Janesville, Madison, and Waukesha. They are also an hour away from Milwaukee and all of the other outlying suburban areas of Milwuakee and Madison as well as Racine and Kenosha. They can also draw from northern illinois (Whitewater is about 2 hours from Chicago) since the D3 schools there cost about the same as paying out of state tuition in Wisconsin. That's a huge pool of talent to draw from and if you are fishing where there's a ton of fish, chances are you are gonna get a few ;).

warhawk 96- Don't let them bother you. I like someone who speaks out and says what they think. Stick around.
I may have been a little harsh.  I just prefer when people establish a little credibility in this forum rather than making their first post a raving rant.

Thanks Flash. Bill...............credibility?!?!? Hmmmmmm I have an email address............that's all I needed to post this ;D

Has there been any talk of the Marietta, Ohio coach (Curt Wiese) coming to Whitewater.  That's one of the rumors back here in Ohio.
I find easily offended people rather offensive!

Statistics are like bikinis; what they reveal is interesting, what they hide is essential.

Lance Leipold could give Z a run for his money. Lot of WW tradition. Glad I don't have to help pick the new coach. Nice to see some good candidates apply.

Why isn't Janesville Flash on the interview list?  Did you already turn them down? ;D

Shouldn't it be a slam dunk to hire Zweifel?  He has been there for like 16 years and has past HC experience right?

All I need to be president is to be 35 years old, but that won't get me elected.

All I'm saying is your post has some meaning if you've been on the board for a while and we have any idea of who you are and where you stand.  A first time poster who launches into a rant doesn't mean squat and doesn't carry much weight.

A rumor circulating in Salem was that Leipold was going to withdraw his name.  Don't know if that's the case or not.

Personally, as I've stated here before, I support Stan.  He appears to have the overwhelming support of the booster group as well.   Not that either of those things mean much.

Here's an article which gives some information on the backgrounds of the four finalists if any one is interested......http://www.gazetteextra.com/uwwfbcoach121906.asp

I think pretty much all the WW fans are rooting for Z. Is anyone suprised Borland didn't apply, or did he?

Congratulations to the University of Wisconsin Whitewater Warhawks.

Great game and you did have plenty of us sitting on the edge of our seats at 14-13.

Best wishes to Coach Bob. It sounds like he and LK have a very nice relationship which speaks volumes for both of them. Class acts tend to hang together.

I had a great time at Stone Station and Llama guy and Olinemom and all the people responsible for the event deserve a standing "O" from all of us for the great job they do at the Stagg. (Begin standing now and face the S. E. with that applause.)

A real pleasure meeting and remeeting Badgerwarhawk since I know we have had some lively discussions in the past. I had a good trip back to the Twin Cities and look forward to getting together again in the future.

Then there is U DUB DUB.......where do I begin.....LOL
Great time at the "Beef Restaurant" (my opologies the name escapes me) on Friday night. I met a ton of WW faithful and all were a pleasure to talk to about one of my favorite subjects D3 Football. UDD I promise your secret is safe with me.....if the rest of the Warhawk nation ever found out you had to get a ride back to your hotel with  Raiderguy your reputation would be trashed. LOLU.

Let me see now U DUB DUB asks?  What do you think the score ot the game is going to be?

Raiderguy says 34-10.....Hmmm not bad for a guy my age. Again just having some fun.

Whitewater you have a great team, coaches, players and most of all fans as passionate about your squad as the Raiders are about theirs.  I will be scanning the schedules for next year to see where my next visit to a WW game will be.

Have the happiest of holidays  and a great new year.

Remember to root for the Big Ten in the coming weeks and especially those BUCKEYES!

National Champions!

Badgerwarhawk, thank you for that article on the 4 candidates. If Leopold is out which I have heard also how can they not pick Z? I am not familiar with this public forum process....is this something out of the ordinary? If public input is part of the process I can't believe this wouldn't help Z. since the Boosters,Players,Alumni, etc. seem to be solidly behind Z......

Personally, 96 I am glad you chose UWW(you had a great season) and if you get a little worked up that's fine with me.....I have gone somewhat screwy on the board and battled my way back from negativr karma. You don't have to apologize for anything.......

Has anyone seen/heard/ talked to Sean GOP?

I am a little worried he may have been injured falling off the band wagon. A horse may have kicked him in the head........however that would be one place I'm sure you couldn't do any damage.

Peace, Love, Dope, Sean

I see my old Coach Willis is a finalist at WHitewater. Any idea what his chances are. The guy is a defensive genius and had several ( I think 3) top 10 defenses in the nation in his 7 years and I think all were at least top 20.
You come to Wartburg to play for championships
