What I heard was that the current UWO Coach was the one the players wanted at UWP, rather than coach E .If coach Z turned it down, it was news to me.! Blessings!

I don't believe there is a Sonic in Wisconsin (too bad - those commercials make the food look pretty dang good).

The ground swell of support just seems to be growing and growing for Stan Zweifel.  I think it's safe to say that it would be a surprise were it one of the other guys.

My thought is this - if Stan gets the job, would he look at Leipold or Weise as offensive coordinator/assistant/whatever?  I mean, he'd need some help - he couldn't keep all of his duties.  Weise is probably unlikely since he's at the head coach level (unless his Wisconsin roots are enough to overcome that), but could Leipold consider a move "back home"?

Probably long shots, but ... ?
Don't know where a Sonic is in Wisconsin, maybe Madison somewhere.
As far as Leipold or Weise coming on as assitants, 1) The way Leipold was talking he wouldn't move, but if I had to choose one of the two he would be it. 2) Weise would be a good candidate to come in and wait and then take over later, but he has a great future ahead of him and I don't see him coming to WW. 3) I think Z would take an O coordinator from with in, quite possibly Dinkel, the O-Line coach or try and talk Nelson Edwards back from Madison (although after the season Hill had, he's probably in line for a promotion within D1). Just a couple of thoughts.

There's a Sonic in Cedar Rapids. Seems to be the closest you get.

Thank you PC. The next time I go to an ICUBS game or other event, I will look them up! God Bless!

I'm going to take my Dodge Stratus through the drive thru at that Sonic.

If you can't ignore an insult, top it; if you can't top it, laugh it off; and if you can't laugh it off, it's probably deserved.

Still pissed about changing the Bear/Packer game to night.....just what the downtown area needs on New Years Eve is 60,000 or so more drunks. May stay home for this one but will have to hear 3 hours of non stop talking about Favre...... Have to agree but even as great as the last two years have been I think the Zwiefel era will even be better but I can't see him giving up calling the plays to someone else.....

I saw a Dodge Stratus on the way to work today.  It was pulled over on the shoulder with it's engine hood up.   I thought to myself, "I gotta get me one of those."

If you're going to come to an ICUBS event, plan on an extra 2 hours coming over to Des Moines.
I live in Ankeny and was told we have the farthest north Sonic that their is and it happens to be a couple blocks from my house. I will tell you this, the Diet Cherry-limeades hit the spot on a warm summer's day.
Hey, its America's drive-in.
You come to Wartburg to play for championships

Badgerwarhawk.  Question.  If "Z" gets the head job, will his intensity level be as high on the sidelines as it was up in the booth?  I'm thinking he will be fun to watch if that intensity remains as high on the sidelines.

CaptainKurt

Coach Z has spent a lot of his seasons calling plays from the sidelines.  I think over the past two or three years (ever since Coach Dinkel - Offensive Line Coach has emerged as a major part of the offensive coaching staff) Z has been able to leave the sidelines and control the game from the box.  Z is very animated and very motivating when he is on the sidelines getting on his players to perform their best.

I think both of Whitewaters coordinators (Zweifel and Borland) have been able to go into the booth due to the fact they have been able to surround themselves with very quality coaches in Coach Dinkel (OL) and Coach Simpson (LB's), amongst several other quality coaches who I am not mentioning right now.

Interesting discussion of Sonic Burgers.

Brian Carroll is interested in trying one, but he wouldn't go to the South Dakota State game with me.  Also our playoff game with Coe College, in Cedar Rapids, several years ago.  he has shown little interest in going back to Des Moines as well.

He just has to be less of a stick in the mud!  :P
