Romo didn't room with one of the Berezowitz boys in college.  He played for Steve in High School.  Steve is doing the articles in the press.

Yeah, I only read about him as coach, and Berez told me a story about Romo that makes part 3 of the Year-in-review, I think.

But if you Googled it, or you had before stories of Romo's demise populated the cyber-airwaves like I did, there are a bunch of articles from midseason which talk about Romo's small-town beginnings, and Steve B seemed to be very available to talk.

I read a pretty funny story about Romo trying to get to a basketball game late too. Google Romo Berezowitz basketball.

Romo's demise?  Last I heard, he is still alive.  :P

Hi Folks;

There will be a collegiate Weightlifting (snatch & clean & jerk) contest held at UWL Feb 17th in the field house.  Just thought I'd post it in case anyone is interested.  Proceeds go to a national suicide hotline.  Here's the attachment for the entry.

Oh no! No more Dodge Stratus?

The Avenger, introduced at the North American International Auto Show with the help of popular professional race car driver Juan Pablo Montoya, will carry a U.S. starting price of $18,895, more than $1,600 below the outgoing Dodge Stratus it replaces, Chrysler executives said. Montoya will drive a Dodge Avenger on the NASCAR racing circuit this spring.

Sh*t.

Thanks for the update, Bisondad.  I might attend.

The word is Head Coach Todd Strop has resigned from UW-Stout.  I'm still looking for some confirmation.

If true, you'd have to believe that Stout would be considering Mr. Stan Zweifel for that job.  I'll wait to see this one develop.

I think you are going to see the college fans push for Stan Zweifel and the high school fans push for Menomonie HS coach Joe LaBuda.  This should be very interesting to watch.

I haven't seen a media report, but a friend of mine who coaches HS ball said he and all the other western Wisconsin high school coaches got an e-mail today announcing the resignation.  I know that's still second hand info, but it's the best I got.

How likely is it that LaBuda takes the job if it is offered to him?  I heard that he has a hefty asking price to leave Menomonie for college.  I remember this being said about him when the UW-EC job opened up.

If the Strop story is true, with the job being posted and all that delay, it can't help recruiting for this year.

Great question.  I guess only LaBuda really knows.  I would have to think Stout would be more attractive to him than Eau Claire, but with the way state salaries are structured there's usually not that much room for negotiation anyway.  I'm glad I don't have to make those kind of decisions.
