Has there been any news about what Coach Z plans on doing?  Is he staying at WW?   ???

DuffMan

WW has a pro day?  Doesn't that seem a bit arrogant?  I can't imagine much coming out of it.

Yeah, I am kind of an arrogant prick.  All I'm saying is that if a guy truly thinks he's got a shot at the league, I don't think DIII is the place for him.  How many pros have come out of this "UWW Pro Day"?

Pat, do you know of any other DIII schools that host a pro day?

For the last couple of years some pro teams would have a pro day at Whitewater or Madison. Players would be invited from around the area to work out before the scouts......some division 3 and some fro UW. I thought this year it was in Madison but they could have changed it to Whitewater. Working out from Whitewater I heard will be Stanley and Schmitt. Don't know who from the other teams......

I know that Stout is having a pro-day in  March for Englebert and Wendt.  There were 22 different NFL teams that came through Menomonie to look at these guys during the season, and they are expecting between 10-15 teams to show up for when they run and lift.   Good luck to Ryan, Jesse and the youngsters from Whitewater.

Duffman,
You truly are a homer!!!  Any team that goes to the national championship game 2 years in a row is bound to have a stud or 2.  And it is not that rare to have a D3 kid get a camp invite off of a pro day workout.  If you want me to start listing names from the past few years I can and will.  Good luck to stanley and schmidt.  2 hard working student athletes who truly got the most out of the D3 experience..

DuffMan

Now, don't go misinterpreting what I said.  I would never say that there aren't a few DIII guys who could play in the league.  But it's not nearly common enough, in my opinion, to warrant a "Pro Day".  So you have one or two kids that may have an outside chance--send them to a pro day at UW-Madison where there'll be more guys and more scouts.

Earth to 1_For_27:

Let's be realistic.  Studs, yes.  NFL players, not too likely.

They wouldn't have a pro day if scouts didn't request it.
If you can't ignore an insult, top it; if you can't top it, laugh it off; and if you can't laugh it off, it's probably deserved.

Duff,
First of all when I used the term "studs" I was using it to describe a guy who is clearly a stand out in the league.  as in the WIAC.  and if you knew anything about anything you would know that a kid who doesnt compete from UW madison can not participate in that pro day.  and as j flash said they wouldn't be having it if the scouts didn't ask to see these players work out!!!

these guys are chasing a dream that most readers of this board have and that is to play on sundays.  how can any ex athlete hate on that!!!

Kira & Jaxon's Dad

I don't think Mount Union even has a Pro Day.  If any players are worth a look, they get invited to OSU, Akron or Kent.
