Good points.  I would assume that anyone participating from another campus would pay his own expenses.

UW-W senior quarterback Justin Jacobs has been named the 2006 College Male Athlete of the Year by Inside Wisconsin Sports Magazine.   Congrats, Jake.

Inside Wisconsin Sports Magazine is a monthly publication that covers sports in Wisconsin.  The runner-up for the College Male Athlete of the Year Award was University of Wisconsin men's basketball senior forward Alando Tucker.

Great honor for Justin Jacobs.  Great thing for DIII that he beat out Tucker.

Sad News!!! This morning former LaCrosse track and football star Matt Pagel was killed in a car accident at around 1am.  Matt was on his way down to Colombus Ohio where he was invited to camp for the Colombus Destroyers from AFL1.  Practice was scheduled to start tomorrow.  GOD BLESS MATT AND HIS FAMILY!!

How tragic!  We were all happy for him when he got a tryout with the Chargers.  A terrible loss for the WIAC community.

Anyone happen to notice he was a fellow poster as well?  Look back to the top of the last page regarding his views on Pro-Day.

Condolences to Matt Pagel's family and friends.  Tragic.

Cubs, thanks for pointing that out.  A little late, but I gave him +k.

A real sad reminder that we live in a real world. I will pray for Matt as well as his family and friends in their time of bereavement.

Matt was a very passionate and motivated individual.  I was a teammate of his at Northern Michigan and played against him during his time at UWL.  He was a great guy and a true D3'r at heart.

This really hits home for me as well as I am sure other posters / friends of his that stay in touch with matt from time to time.

Cherish the friends that you make during your time on this earth, they affect us all on some level..  The phrase teammates for life rings true, matt was a teammate of mine for one year but I still feel like I lost one of my brothers.....

I will miss you pagel...

This is a very sad day.  Matt was a good friend of mine and very close to my family as well.  He never gave up on his dream and he was admired by many.  Matt had a lot of friends because he was truly an amazing and caring person.  I will greatly miss you Matt.  God Bless You, your family, and friends forever.
