I would be pretty surprised if there is anyone in the UW-WW football program who doesn't already know what Stan's intentions are.

It's official...Zweifel is in at UW-RF

Zorro,

Great reporting!  Their is a job opening as a coorespondent for a widely known  college football website in the Whitewater area.

Whitewater and Stout held a pro day together today at the Williams Center.  The four athlete's participating were Pete Schmidt, Derek Stanley, Jesse Wendt, and Ryan Englebert.  Listed below are the 40 yard dash times of each guy.

Pete Schmidt - 4.81 / 4.84
Derek Stanley - 4.54 / 4.55
Ryan Englebert - 4.52 / 4.58
Jesse Wendt - 4.44 / 4.46

I spoke with a couple of guys from next years team who were in attendance and they said Wendt and Schmidt were very impressive in the testing, and all 4 did an excellent job in position drills.

I don't usually post here so I'm not sure this has been posted.

  Menlo has posted their schedule.

Menlo will be playing Stout.

I too heard that all four guys had an excellent day catching the ball and all looked very sharp.  I am a member on the Green Bay Packers scout forum, and the listed 40 times on there are the following:
Schmidt 4.79, 4.83
Stanley  4.51, 4.55
Englebert 4.48, 4.52
Wendt  4.42, 4.46

Hopefully these guys can get picked up and make the WIAC proud!!

Being that most of the times are different (although similar ballpark), I think all this proves is that some scouts have faster and some have slower watches than others!  However, that being what it is, don't you think the Stanley time is alarmingly slow? Considering all that is written or spoken during the fb season about his blazing speed, those are not great numbers.  I have to believe he is healthy.  If he was injuried, my guess he wouldn't be running.  Anybody have any additional information???

Congrats to the Stout boys.  Great times especially comparably to those a part of the champs.

4.54 speed in the WIAC is blazing.  You've got to remember that this is D3 football we are talking here. These guys are great football players but do not usually have the measurables of the D1 guys.  Wendt is obviously the exception.  Great workouts by all of the athletes and good luck.

If you look at 40 times from around the country at pro days, including D1, those times are really good. I didn't see anyone below 4.5 just glancing at several d1 schools.
If you can't ignore an insult, top it; if you can't top it, laugh it off; and if you can't laugh it off, it's probably deserved.

I'm sure they are, but are they fast enough for the NFL?

Almost all of you got t karma today. What a great bunch of postings. i think all four of the guys could play in the NFL in the right circumstances. Good luck to coach Z! I hope he did not have to take too much of a pay cut. Good to get it over and move on. God Bless!

That's a great question chmarx.  Only time will tell.

UWOTITAN, their speed may be above-average for the WIAC, but they're not the eye-popping numbers that might get them a look by a NFL club.

J44, do you know (or anyone else for that matter) which clubs or how many were represented? I hope they get a shot at the NFL, but think the CFL or AFL might have more initial interest.

Kudos to the two schools involved.  It's great that WW and Stout could come together and make this happen.  It's not too often that WIAC schools can put their rivalries aside and do something good for their student-athletes.  I hope we can see more of this kind of cooperation in the future.

Very sad news about the passing of Eddie Robinson.  A true legend and a grand gentleman of our time.  It's amazing how one man could change so many lives.  May he rest in peace.

Also, UW-L basketball star Joe Werner worked out for a Green Bay scout on Wednesday. Some of his results were reported to be rather impressive as you can read at this link:
