I didn't mean to rip on Beaver, he is a good back at the Division III level.  I don't know if I would go as far as say he is one of the top at DIII.  I guess he is stat wise, but if you put him at a different school those stats wouldn't be the same.  He doesn't have pro level athleticism or size, and it will hurt him next year if he wants to play on.  I don't think Childs has that athleticism either after watching him play.  He is very skilled, but when it comes to game breaking speed he doesn't have it, and unfortunately that is all the scouts are looking for in a DIII athlete.

I would just like to thank the xtremetrainer for his awesome post.  Fact of the matter is, he's right, Goo 62 and all the other jealous doubters are wrong and that's just THEWAYITIS! ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

No one is shiftier and more elusive than Beaver. I would say when it comes to moves, quickness, agility, and speed he's better than Englebert. Englebert while still being good at the afforementioned is much bigger though. If you were to ask me Childs and Englebert were very, very similar backs.

Xtremetrainer,
Let's remember Goo62 is the offensive lineman of the year. So he does have some thing to brag about. So congrats on that
Also I saw the rings that Whitewater got and they look very nice. However having runners up on something like a championship ring well in my mind defeats the purpose. I have lost a lot which is equaled to runner up, and I would never get that on a championship ring.
Runner up/losing SUCKS and it should piss you off and make you work harder which is what the war hawks are no doubt doing. However to brag about being runner up is a no no in my mind. I would just get the conference championship ring and be done with it
To show you a good example of people being pissed off in 2003 when Mount Union lost to St. Johns Mount union did not have a banquet as they had nothing to celebrate.  I was surprised by this but that's the mentality of their players if they don't win it all they don't get a post season banquet. I agree with that as if you don't win it all there is nothing to celebrate.
I think the mere fact that Ryan is being given a shot by some scouts he has accomplished something which very few in division three can do,and for that he deserves to be congratulated and not ripped on and put down.
Gotta beat the best to be the best otherwise your just one of the rest

Let's hope it happens as somethign like this will bring all the hawks back to UW-W

On the other hand, more words are being written on this board about this DIII athlete of very uncertain NFL quality than Peyton Manning receives in the Colts Media Guide.

So if I follow your logic right, you would be more proud of a ring that signifies that you won a conference championship, (something that players from 27 other teams also accomplished) than a ring that signifies that you are the the second best D-3 team in the nation???   ??? ??? ???

I believe those boys are pretty proud of those rings and just because they are silver, not gold, no less diminishes their outstanding accomplishments.  Don't forget, they own two of them.  BTW, look closely at one of those rings.  It is a combo representing their  WIAC Championship and their National Runner-Up Championship.  But you might want to keep your, "ring theory, " to yourself when you do it.   ;D

frank uible, I'm not too sure of that claim.  Mannings bio alone covers everything on pages 91-108 in the Colts media guide,

After a brief, yet throrough review of WIAC PP, I have found that page 499 is the first mention of anything substantial of the one you have dubbed "this DIII athlete of very uncertain NFL quality."  That would be 8 pages, however not everything is about "him."  As Andy Warhol said, everyone gets 15 minutes of fame.  I believe "he" deserves a few more minutes.  Afterall, as far as I can tell, he didn't start this battle royale, nor is he continuing it. How 'bout we cut the kid some slack, call a truce, and get on with things?

Goo 62

I dont understand why my honesty is mistaken for jealousy.  Im going to leave the NFL thing alone now because I got my opinion expressed.
How can you say that a guy who was up for the Gagliardi trophy as a sophmore who rushed for 2400 yards, then rushed for 1500 in 10 games, and LEAD his team to the national championship 2 years in a row is just a good running back.  I dont care how good his OL is (which it is pretty good) those stats are amazing.  That is why he is at least one of the best players not just RB's in the nation.
By the way I would take Pittz on my team any day over Englebert.

BoBo: 15 minutes has been up for a while. We can talk about him in September when and if he makes the regular season playing roster of an NFL team. Until then he is just a guy in a crowd of guys. Meanwhile let some other suspects get a little ink.

BoBo

Frank, many on this page don't share your view (as unfortunate as that may be).  Sure, some may have an axe to grind, but I, on the other hand, wish to wash my hands of the issue, too!

Max Sakellaris truly is embarrassing anyone associated with Whitewater football!!  I agree with MadHawk completely, being a fellow graduate from Whitewater I want to apologize to anyone out there who has to read the nonsense that he is writing.  You would think being "national offensive lineman of the year" he would have better things to do than to keep posting on a discussion board.  I truly wish him the best of luck in whatever he decides to do after school, however two things are certain he definitely won't be an NFL Scout and definitely won't be an English teacher.

Very nicely said BobHawk and MadHawk.  I am very good friends with one of the coaches at UW Lax, and he actually mentioned something to me this morning about the same thing.  It appears that Mr. Sakellaris is losing a lot of the respect he had around the WIAC which is sad.
