I don't know if Englebert's a good fit for the Bengals.  I doubt he's ever been in jail and he probably doesn't even carry a gun.

Good luck anyway!

Very nice!! 8)

- despite the fact that a lot of people may not care about the outcome of that examination.

This isn't really the ideal place to post this Frank.  Those who do care are the same people who read this board extremely often.  So please do us the small favor and stop the Derek Stanley player-hating for at least a little while.

Seriously, Captain, where is the ideal place for this kind of bashing???  Maybe do frank a big favor and specifically direct him in that direction.

For starters, not in the WIAC chatroom.  Call me crazy, but I'd like to think at a time like this that we could show nothing but love for our Division III guys.

I just want to congratulate all of the WIAC players on continuing their dreams and getting a chance at the next level.  Especially the Stout Boys, Congratulations Ryan and Jesse!  We are very proud of you guys:)  I know Goo 62 is especially proud ;)

Devil Badger Gopher

Congrats to the Stouties.  You both have come a long way and now to show why they picked you guys up.

ScheckDiesel

congrats to Derek Stanley, Pete Schmitt, and all the other D3 players going into NFL camps...

BoBo

Although Stanley was the only receiver drafted by the Rams, they have signed 4 undrafted FA WR's.

Camp will be interesting.

Well, all sports training camps, particularly in the NFL, are very competitive.

Good luck to our four athletes.

Jesse Wendt signed a free agent contract with the Washington Redskins.  Is this the first time we have ever had 2 WIAC football players sign in the same year?

This may already be known here, but this is NOT a free agent contract. He was invited to try out, as was Pete Schmitt, with the Redskins.

Just thought I would clarify.

I regret being the bearer of bad news, but the problems at Stout continue:

UW-Stout Athletes Face Drug Charges
http://www.leadertelegram.com/story-NEWS.asp?id=82436

I'm not sure how big of a deal it is, but this excerpt is certainly going to raise some eyebrows:

"Officers executed search warrants this week at 334 North Hall and Ikemefuna's rental home; a trace amount of marijuana and two pipes were found in the home. The home is owned by UW-Stout Athletic Director Steve Terry, who was unavailable for comment this morning."

If Steve Terry rents a house and someone breaks a law in it, that's not his fault, but the connection is certainly not going to look good as this develops.  The WIAC and/or NCAA might also be curious as to the relationship between an AD and a student-athlete who rents a house from the AD.

That is quite a story about the Stout players and athletic director......staying in a house owned by Terry......rather poor judgment on his part to have athletes staying in a house he owns....Unfortunate for the WIAC and the new coach.....sounds like they have a lot to clean up....

Yikes, this football players/drug thing just keeps getting uglier at Stout.

I doubt there's anything wrong with the AD renting a home to athletes if they're paying the appropiate rent and not receiving any other benefits not available to another student out of the deal.   But with all the stuff already going on there I doubt the administration needed this.
