Some people dislike DLK because he donates all the money to the university's atheltic department.

razor, so maybe if he put a little love towards the Fine Arts, Business, or Education programs, you think he will be at least universally tolerated or if anything, somewhat liked??

Hey Ramone, have you ever been introduced to Sean O'Reilly?  I should hook you two guys up sometime.

I was just thinking how much Ramone reminded me of the "King of Airing Dirty Laundry!"  ;)

Regarding DLK, since he owns a lot of WW, not renting to athletes would leave his places half empty and a lot of athletes living on the streets!    A local business man who owns and rents real estate as a business is alot different in my mind than a guy whose profession has direct connections to campus athletes and just has a rental property or two on the side, (if that is the case.)  Anyway, I am sorry that the Stout program is dealing with more problems.  A real shame for the majority of players and staff who are unjustly affected by such behavior.

Hey everyone,

As an uw-rf alumnus I am very, very excited to see Stan Z. on our sidelines this next year.  He has enormous energy and love fo the game.  After watching him coach a bit, I believe that he will turn the football program around quite quickly.  I feel terrible for the player at UW-WW because I can see how he actually cares about his players and pushes them to be the best they can be.  To the University,  you made a huge mistake by letting him go.  By bringing in a new coach, you have disrupted the unity of the coaching staff, the players, and messed with your ability to recruit effectively.  Especially after a two year run to the championship game.  Why make such drastic changes when every thing is going so well.  I believe the The AD and whoever made this decision have put a wrench into the greatness of the UW-WW football team.   I just believe that there is just too much change for the team to be the same this coming year even if they have alot of returners.  After coaching for many years,  I have noticed that this type of change can make a huge difference in  team.  I feel bad for the players and staff because of a terrible decision by the AD/whoever.  But I am really, really excited about the Falcons over the next couple of years.  Maybe we can get back to the tradition of the mid-nineties. :o

The similarities are eerie...              maybe seperated at birth?

So what can we expect to see from River Falls with Coach Z running the show?

The Falcon web site indicates a Ramer Field project is in the works.  Will they be working on the field this summer?

Exactly Pat. Your question is the one I've heard people ask the past couple of days.

There's an extensive interview with Coach Z himself on the front page that you might want to listen to.

38, your comment seems to impley that Stan Z is the only coach who has energy and love for what he does, or cares for his football players. I seriously doubt the change at WW will have that great of a negative influence you speak of.

As for recruiting, considering what has already been reported through PP, it doesn't appear recruiting has slipped, either.  In fact, the recruiting tale of the tape again shows both quality and quantity making their way to warhawk land.

Furthermore, 38, it took your new best friend something like 15 years to really make the WW team great, as you put it (or on the map as a national power).  What really makes you think that he or anybody can turn around a much weaker team in the last few years like UW-RF into a consistant national title contender and quicker?

I suppose it's only natural for those chasing the champions to try to find anything they can to rally around & you certainly have found a lot of non issues to get excited about.  I guess only time will tell.

Admittedly, that makes it a little different but it does not at all eliminate the possibility of abuse, does it?

I think it is a lot different.  The problem is that we sometimes speak about matters we know nothing about.

I think you are not necessarily so informed either. I doubt you are fully informed about both instances being discussed here.

Pat, FYI - never did I say or implied that I was fully informed about both issues being discussed.  But, since you called me out, I will tell you that your instincts are only 1/2 right (or wrong - depends how you look at it). However, I checked the PP rules and couldn't find where it says that you have to be fully informed to comment on any given issue (maybe you can tell me where it says that!).  If that were the case, 99.99% of your guests would be subject to expulsion from posting due to inaccurate, misleading, self-promoting or simply uniformed dribble drivel.

I assumed you were informed on the UWW side since you defended it.

The word is drivel, by the way, not dribble.

DLK and the Stout AD are linked, not because they rent to athletes, but because they have the discretionary power to offer preferential treatment to athletes (read: low rent/no rent).  At the Division I level these kind of relationships are investigated and punished all the time.  This rising stink will be be teasing Gary Karner's olfactories any day now--if it hasn't already.
