It doesn't say if he signed a contract or not, just stated that he was very impressive during the mini camp and Coach Anderson (running backs coach) is going to want to take a closer look at him before training camp.  There was a blog from one of the mini camp practices that stated he proved to be very elusive and picked up on the offense extremely quick.

Training camp typically starts at the end of July and that is the preseason.  Did they say if he would be back for OTA's?  I heard that Schmitt will be moving out to Washington D.C. in a little over a week.  This is when players, who sign, will report back to the team.  Is he going to sign soon?, or was he impressive, but just good enough to make the cut??

Pete Schmitt was impressive and told Warhawkfootball.com tonight that he will be signing a free agent contract "in the next couple of days."  After finishing out the academic year in the next couple of weeks Pete will head back to Washington, DC and prepare for the Redskins next minicamp May 17-19. Once he gets back to DC he will start training with the team.  When he arrived at the rookie minicamp, the coaching staff moved him from his tight end position to fullback (H-back).

I can't be sure of this at the moment but I will try and find out......

In '03 the loss to St John's in the Stagg Bowl represented the end of MUC's 4 year winning streak. 55 straight wins...... I think that may have played into the decision not to have a banquet at the end of that particular season.

In this case the loss was the event? The arrogance came from what appeared to be a "we can't lose mentality" IMHO. The week before they had dismantled a very good Bridgewater team 66-0. Can't really blame them but that's exactly what causes those things to happen.

In addition to a great St. John's team kick'in our A$$. That is LK's second worst loss in his career as a head coach. It seems only fair since LK is responsible for John's worst loss in his career in '93 playoffs.
WELCOME TO THE MACHINE!

2007 Uww toughest opponents will be Lax as always and Oshkosh. Point is out of the loop and will be for sometime.

Thanks for the info, Raiderguy.  I am glad to have the "no banquet," legend confirmed.  It did occurr to me that it could be a false report.  Still don't agree with it but, hey, who am I to question LK's motivational tactics. You'd think after all his accomplishments, he wouldn't be such a, "glass half empty," kind of guy!   ;)   ;D   It must have sucked for the seniors.

Goo62.. I agree with you saying that La Crosse will be a tough opponet for Whitewater and I sort of agree with Oshkosh but I dont agree with Point being out of the loop.
They return 8 starters on a defense that improved greatly over the year and who cares who they lost on offense because the offense was terrible... so that can only get better.. I think Point will surprise a lot teams.

hatchet molly

Heard that the QB from CLU is tranferring to UW-Whitewater for his senior year. The HC has apparently guaranteed him the starting job. Don't know any other particulars.

Pat Coleman

If that's Danny Jones, he's a pretty darn good quarterback.

Max, you stooped far below my level the past four weeks, but in the end I guess all it did was make you look bad.  So what are you thinking, Beaver late first day draft pick next year and Pitz early second day the following year??

What school is CLU... I know who it is I just cant think of it right now
