What school is CLU... I know who it is I just cant think of it right now

California Luthran University is a D-3 school from the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.   

Just saw this on the SCIAC board:
     "Heard a rumor early today and just got confirmation that Danny Jones starting QB at Cal Lu is transfering to UW-Whitewater.  He has been the starter for the last 3 years.  Many of the players are p.o. because they just found out late yesterday.  Supossedly he was told he would go right in and be the starter.  Big blow to CLU and the SCIAC in general. "

I had to look it up myself.  California Luthran University is a D-3 school from the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.

If that's Danny Jones, he's a pretty darn good quarterback.

Jones was second team all-SCIAC as a freshman, and first team all-SCIAC the past two seasons. He's an exciting player. Good get for Whitewater.

I have an idea of what kind of responses Im going to get with this post... such as... cause Whitewater is so good and why wouldnt he want to play for Whitewater and cause Whitewater went to the Stagg Bowl the last 2 years.
But seriously, why do you think this guy is traveling half way around the country for DIII football?  Im curious on why.

Part of it could be because he might not have hit it off with the new coach or the style of play he wanted. Just a guess.

I tell you what bobhawk I will roll with my UWW boys any day.  Beaver is ten times the RB Englebert is.  You can have englebert Ill take the 2 time first team all american and gagliardi finalist any day and every day.  Have fun trying to stop Beaver next year.  Actually teams should just try to contain him first. 

Congrats to all the D3 guys that made teams it does alot for the D3 football.

My guess is you hit it on the third one. Dreams of the Walnut and Bronze is the only thing I can think of that would cause a player to make such a huge change prior to his senior year.  And MUC didn't graduate their MVP QB.

I heard he actually wanted to transfer to Mount Union but only had enough frequent flyer mileage accumulated to make it to Mitchell Field. 

Interestingly I was just talking about the quarterback situation with someone involved with the WHITEWATER program last night and they never mentioned any transfer.  I suppose they could have been unaware of it but that seems odd.   The quarterback position is my main concern with next year's team.  Having a stud fall into our lap would be a big break.

BW I hear Jones will be in Whitewater early this summer to practice throwing to #1, #3,#83,#85 and a few other new receivers. Should be interesting and if he is as good as everyone says the fun could continue. I am still concerned about the interior line because there is a lot to replace there.....POUND THE ROCK!!!!!.....

I have no facts to back this up but I think Garcon transferred to play on the best team in DIII and because he has NFL potential and he will get a lot more recognition playing for Mount Union than the team he came from.  Again, just an opinion and not actually facts
