As far as Sept. 1st and the things that have been said..Assuming our Athletic Director still keeps that game on our schedule, I am looking forward to playing Whitewater.

Yeah, interesting D3.  Thanks for your insight.  Just wondering though, around the Lakeland camp, is there talk of backing out of the scheduled game on 9/1 as a result of the coaching change?  If so, wouldn't that be contrary to the spirit of competition and sportsmanship you speak of?  I would think that if you wanted to stand and fight for what you believe in, you would play that game and play like it was your last game ever.  If you drop that game it will appear like you are running away and hiding.  Not exactly something a warrior would find prideful.

D3-NCAA - it is my hope that Lakeland's athletic director lifts her performance to that of her student-athletes.  I have heard the comments of several Lakeland football players in the wake of Coach Zebrowski's move to Whitewater this week.   In EVERY case, the players have indicated that their coach made, what was in their mind, the proper decision in moving up the coaching and professional ladder.  If her student-athletes are open-minded enough to understand the situation and LOOK FORWARD to playing Whitewater on Sept. 1, it would be a shame for her to pull the game off Lakeland's schedule.

BoBo,

I seriously doubt it's D3's decision but it sounds like he's more than happy to play and get routed by the Hawks.

I hae to chuckle how Lakeland made some good plays. How many good plays can you make when you get beat by 75 points, and you are still going against the starters. Whitewater pulled the starters pretty early this past year. So as I remember the majority of the good plays were vs the # 2's.
Gotta beat the best to be the best otherwise your just one of the rest

Let's hope it happens as somethign like this will bring all the hawks back to UW-W

Lakeland obviously wasn't at our level but unlike one of our league opponents, who only went through the motions in the second half, they never quit.

Our AD has been talking bout rescheduling that first game because Coach Zebrowski   knowing us so well and that or whatever.... and when I heard that I was honostly very dissapointed...I could care less bout score..it's about expericence and having to bring your level up the best you can when you gotta go against a team as good as WW...after lsoing coach z, allot of the guys contacted me and were pumped at the oppurtunity to play against their former coach who always preached about loyality and how he beld blue and yellow..so yeah that's that...i hope they do keep that game on the schedule...I'd love nothing more than to have Coach send a reciever out on a route and then all that guy sees is nothing but a forearm coming under his throat...then after I could point and laugh at Coach Z for should knowing better than that...whether he is a 2 or not..idc....some of u whiterwater posters should deflate ur heads a lil bit....yeah ur good..its been proving....but be humble...show respect to ur opponent..its called sportsmanship

D3-NCAA

ok, i realize talking bout clothelining a guy around his throat isn't very sportsmanlike...but i look at like,,,its a rough game, what happens on the field stays on the field...anything prior or after-the-fact  is the part where you gotta show the utmost respect for the game and those you play against

D3-NCAA maybe the result would be better when you play the Warhawks if you concentrate on covering receivers instead of tomahawking them.....

No offense intended but we don't need to know Lakeland any better than we already do to dominate in that game.  If Lakeland wanted to cancel the game because they can't compete I can understand that but to use Zebrowski's hire as an excuse is laughable.   Get real, the way we've handled Lakeland what more do we need to know?

Hey man, I want to keep the game set as is..It's an honor playing WW..I am just going off what one of my teamates said that the AD was saying bout maybe changing that first game..Don't attack the messenger..Whitewater beating up on Lakeland is like when you're a kid and playing against all the older kids..there always is an oppurtunity to make the studs look bad in one way or the other despite the score. Deflate ur head and be humble..then maybe u could beat MU in the National Championship, great game btw, lotta fun to watch...**** all changed when they blocked that punt though...i was really pulling for u guys...Good luck this upcoming year and if i had my way, we will be seeing ya come Sept. 1st...

Hey guys just making sure you guys didnt miss me, because I have sure missed you.

I wouldnt of posted but the war general from lakeland woke me up out of my slumber.  First off why would anyone from UWW respect a player from Lakeland.  Truth be told I dont even remeber the game last year, maybe that was due to the fact the starters were all out before half time started.  Just because the game is scheduled doesnt mean you get the respect from the other team.  Respect is something you earn.
As for the clothesline, on #2 come on that must of been in one of your dreams the night before.  Or maybe I just missed it when I was joking with my teammates on the sideline, when we were up 50.  As for the forearm under the chin comment, I think that speaks for itself and I will leave that one alone.  Love the ethusiasm though.  And the slam on us losing in the championship that actually made me laugh outloud.

As for the new OC I like the pick up.  I think he is going to bring a nice flavor to the unit.  As for his past seasons at Lakeland, he was very successful in a bad conference but with the players he has returning I think he will help the program a great deal.  Good luck to the new and completed warhawk staff.

I know you guys are having fun with Mr. D3-NCAA but to be fair, shouldn't someone point out to him the fact that most programs and coaching staffs frown very seriously on active players participating in the banter on these boards and threatening to clothes line one of our WR's is really not in his own best interest?  Well, I guess I just did.  LOL!!   ;D

BTW, D3-NCAA, you are not as anonymous as you might think you are.   ;)

I can respect that you will go into battle with whomever your AD puts in front of you. That is an admirable trait to have. I don't think it's about UWW being cocky and arrogant towards everyone. We definitely respect teams like Linfield, St. Johns, LAX, Mt. Union etc. but that is because that respect was earned. How do you respect a team when your second string enters the game and scores 35-40 points to about the seven you scored on them? I just think that we KNOW that we are that much better football players than Lakeland. Quite honestly, I think in Lakeland's case it's not just a matter of scheduling teams that are better than you to improve your quality of play. I think you need to gradually work your way up by scheduling St. Norberts, then when you beat them handily, play North Central or Wheaton. I think we are just too much to handle/learn anything from and I don't speak that out of arrogance, I say that because our second string would win 35-7. That's just the truth, not arrogance, even though it's a harsh reality.
