Well, I just bought a Toyota Matrix.

Can I get a rebate?

Currently USA and Japan are tied at 10 in the 3rd quarter.  The 4th quarter has apparently not started yet.

Looks like the final has just been posted:

USA 23 Japan 20 in overtime.  No game details yet.  Except it was played in the rain and the attendance was 10,231.

Here's the link http://wc2007.info/777/game9_e.html

Not an overwhelmingly convincing victory, but considering these guys were only together for about 2 weeks before the tournament, a win is a win.  The Japanese, by their own admission in the pre-game notes, have been preparing together since the spring for this game.
Job well done, especially by the D3 alums.  They seem to have made many of the big plays for this team!

Good Lord!  I just checked out the Warhawk Football web-page (which is great) and I was blown away bu the pictured of the stadium.  I hope Danny Jones is not blown away by the fact that there will be more than 900 people at their games. :)

For those interested in the Stout coaching staff shakeup -

Coach Todd Strop, whose contract at the university expired July 1, is now able to comment on the situation, and does so in an interview in today's Eau Claire Leader-Telegram...

Ralph,

Thanks for the link.  Interesting storry.  Happy to see that Todd landed at Hamline.  Had a chance to talk with Todd early last fall and he seemed like a stand up guy.

CLU regularly had 1500 to 2000 fans at their home games. The stands were always packed.

You're right about Cal Lutheran.  They average 1630 fans at home.  WHITEWATER averaged just under 4500.  Given that our stadium seats around 11K Danny will notice a few empty seats.  ;)

Bad thing is, that's all CLU's stadium will hold. Not much in the way of visitors stands. Alot of people standing around the field.

Re: your posts on the SCIAC board (they probably do not want a LINFIELD guy replying to a WW guy on that board) You know we thought the same thing about your 'balanced' remark and it was your memory that served you well in your follow-up post.
HOWEVER it was the coaching staff move that put Derek Stanley on Casey Allen at the end of the game and LINFIELD'S failure to run the ball that mattered in the end IMO.
Was not surprised to to Derek go up 4 levels to the pay league. Best of health to him.

Nice program involving UWW alums Derek Stanley & Trey Bell lending a helping hand to former Badger and current Detroit Lion Brian Calhoun.

Derek Stanley only played a few series in the first half on D for the hawks in that game, none in the 2nd.

I believe this is true.  He was getting too tired going both ways.  I just remember thinking when the Hawks took the lead with 42 seconds left that it was too much time to give Elliott.  Longest 42 seconds of my life!  ;D
